You've really done the city justice -- I've always struggled with recommendations when people visit as tourists. I always think the city is best experienced for it's atmosphere rather than for it's attractions.
Thank you so much, Matthew 🙌 I totally agree - there may be bigger castles and more obvious 'things to see' in other UK cities, but it's hard to find a better atmosphere than in Manchester.
Great to see the improvement in my old home city. I haven't lived there for over 30 years (I live in SW France now). The change to Ancoats is extraordinary. It's not somewhere you'd ever want to walk at night last time was there. So happy to see it looking like the cosmopolitan city it deserves to be. I definitely plan to visit for a few days at some point.
Thanks for the comment. I totally agree 🙌 I’ve been coming to Manchester quite a lot since 2015 and I feel like the city (and especially areas like Ancoats and Northern Quarter) are changing a lot from each visit. There’s always a new cool spot to check out and I’m all for it 😀🇬🇧
I've lived close by to Manchester all my 44 years. If you've been gone that long you won't believe how it's changed. It's a genuinely world class city now you'd be pleased with what you find.
The transformation started since c2005 when the Beetham tower was under construction. I've lost count of the number of tall towers that have mushroomed since then. There are countless building projects still in the pipeline and the city will double in size in the next 10 years. I have lived in and around Manchester in the last 50 years and one thing I can definitely tell you is that the city has become a very beautiful place to visit.
same here.... left in 1996 for hong kong...which was probably a key year in Manchester's turn around...i have had fleeting visits since and it always looks more vibrant than it did
As a Canadian visiting the Trafford Centre, I found the development mirrored in some parts West Edmonton Mall. It was in it's own way unique and yet surprisingly a familiar environmental feel. Yes... It's huge!.
best city in the world, great day out and great night out. I dont normally like cities but Manchester is superb and the ppl are so nice. Ive spent many a drunken day in Manny

Great tour of the city. Going to visit Manchester for the first time in January 2025, so this walk around did help me a lot. Could you give me some info on prices for a pint, lunch or dinner? Greetings from Slovenia.
As Manchester United fan, I had the highest form of excitement, cheer watching the video. Hopefully, one day I will be able to see city, Old Trafford in real life 🙏 Thank you for the video.
That’s the beauty of UA-cam - being able to “visit” cities and places all over the world 🌍 Thanks for your kind words, I hope you’ll one day get to experience Manchester 🇬🇧
Make sure you take a raincoat and umbrella when visiting that 💩hole, instead consider visiting the home of the premier league champions, you won’t need a raincoat or umbrella, and you’ll see lots of real trophies.
@@onthekippaxsince75 Even Nottingham Forrest has more international titles than fucking Shitty, mate. That meaningless club has more demands than titles.
It is a phenomenal city to visit! this video was a great showcase for it's attractions/attributes. By day the city bustles, by night it rocks and parties, it's architecture is beautifully emphasized by illumination after dark. Visit the Cathedral and Alan Turing memorial. Trafford Centre etc if you have the time. (in addition to the attractions in the video).
Is Manchester safe for a solo trip by women? I'm planning to go and I'm collecting as many tips as I can. If there's any Mancunian here who could share more insights, I'd really appreciate it! Great video!! Congrats, mate!
My memories of the Wellington, Old Shambles/Sinclairs was when I worked for an architect involved in it's renovation at the time the Arndale was under construction. It seems almost inconceivable it has survived centuries and yet the last century saw it relocated, distroyed and reconstructed after bombing and becoming more popular than ever in it's new Hanging Ditch location.
I'm Canadian, but visited often! Manchester International Airport for arrivals/departures. There is a direct rail connection from the airports 3 terminals to the city centre.
Lived there a few years. I thought the place was depressing there is no sun you might be lucky to get a few weeks in summer. It's also very dirty. Glad my parents decided to move to Australia
It may seem that way, but if you take a train from Piccadilly Station to Edale area, and look back at the city you will be astonished at the green and pleasant land!.
@@destinationwellknownsome people tried like 80 odd years ago in their back yard or the communal yard. But they were very invested in what their parents were up to? Soz. My nan was very into growing stuff
15 minutes on the Tram (Metrolink), will take you to Heaton Park, the the largest municipal park in Europe, over 600 acres of green space, with a boating lake and cafes.
Does one have to necessarily be gay to go there? surely one can appreciate that it's/an eclectic environment any one can experience without prejudices.

Manchester seems to have very little green areas compared to other UK cities, not that it doesn't have at all but they're all far from the center.
