You replied “ I still haven’t decided yet.” The words still and yet in one sentence. Does it oftentimes happen? I normally say as I haven’t decided yet. It would help me to clear my mind if you could explain. Thank you.
Hi Mami-native english speaker here. "I still haven't decided yet." is a very common phrase. What makes it slightly different than "I haven't decided yet." is that the "still" implies that either you, or the person you are speaking with, might have expected a decision. So the "still" is sort of like "I haven't come to a decision, yet (though I thought I would have)." It puts an emphasis on the time. “I still have yet to decide.” "I have still yet to decide." "Still, I have yet to decide." or "I have yet to decide, still." Are also variations on the phrase. Hope that helps!

正直どのフレーズ使うかより、ちゃんと相手の言ってることを理解しようとする姿勢が大事って気がしたな。そのフレーズの後に質問を返すとか。
