This was super helpful, thank you so much! I wasn't 100% sure what to out in my summary, but this has really helped with that, and many other aspects too!
I agreed with everything until you mentioned that job seekers "look desperate" if they add the open to work frame around their profile picture. There have been online debates about this on LinkedIn and most technical recruiters have disagreed about candidates "looking desperate" when they want someone who can be easily seen that wants to work!
I do have two questions: 1. Would updating your LinkedIn while currently in a role throw up some red flags? For example: someone is currently looking for another position, but does not want their boss to know. Would they see this updated "about me" and start to wonder and ask questions? 2. Has this dummy profile received any interest from recruiters? If so, could you list those numbers? I feel like that would be a bit funny.
Hey Sukhchan, thanks for your question! 1. As long as you don't turn on the open to work option, you should be okay 2. Yes, we have lots of recruiters and students message our lovely Wendy!

I've had more recruiters approach me when I take it off my profile. Subconsciously it looks desperate although I do not want to think of it as such.
@@RJ-is9koGood for you. But recruiters are still prioritizing those with a green banner
