He finally got it and it blew his mind...lol
I've known this band for just over 6 months and I'm amazed by their sound. My favorite song of theirs is IDK.
I want to suggest that you react to "Deus le volt/spread your fire - Angra"
Angra is a Brazilian power metal band and I'm sure you'll like it!
Greetings from 🇧🇷
Yes! Twelve Foot Ninja was my favorite discovery in 2012. They’re so fun-and so talented! You should check out more from them. Kin’s vocals are quite reminiscent of Mike Patton. And there’s some Mr. Bungle influence in their music, it seems. You know they’re good if Tatiana agreed to guest on the song before she even heard it. That’s one hell of a seal of approval!
Yeah they’re from my hometown, new album sounds great so far. Love Start the Fire.
seen your comments all over twelve foot ninja related videos hahaha, same 2012 silent machine
YAY!!! I love this track SO MUCH!! Their voices sound absolutely amazing together 🖤 And the video is just so weird and hilarious 😂 And that mouth definitely looked like what you thought lol it’s what I thought too 😂
Kind of off topic, I saw Jinjer live last week and got to meet them and all of them were so sweet and the show was AMAZING!!
So jealous. So happy for you Carrie!
Hahaha I love that you reacted to this crazy music video, quick turnaround too. There is a lot going on for sure, both visually and musically. I think the message is that our dreams don't make sense and that searching for meaning in them only leads to insanity.
Thanks for another great reaction, John!🔥🔥
I see John, I smash like button. Simple.
thanx for the rather quick reaction my friend....
yes, Tati and another awesome singer and awesome band TFN.
I heard TFN for the first time about 10 years ago, and what can I say ..............!
lovely greetings
That face when you were wondering what he was going to put down there... Cracked me up!!! Tatiana being featured was the reason I got to TFN and this was the first (and only at the moment) that I've heard from them and I really liked the song and the video and I really liked how both voices sounded together! Great reaction and analysis as usual John!
Check out One Hand Killing
*mind blown*
Do not forget “Retrospection” (Official) an amazing and beautiful song by Jinjer.
I've done the live one for it.
I was just thinking how you should check this song out and next thing you know this pops up on my phone! haha
He Crazy!!!!!!
TFN are an Aussie band. Jinjer played some gigs with them when they toured Australia and the members of TFN turned up for Jinjer's Melbourne gig that was recorded for their live album - hence this collaboration. Apparently the random phrases that Tati says in the "Ask Tatiana" machine are Aussie slang for being "a sandwich short of a picnic" ie. not very bright! =)
Tatiana has stated in the past that she is not keen on doing collaborations, so the two bands must get along pretty well.
She said in a recent interview that she was interested in doing some now so I think she's warming up to it. Maybe she enjoyed doing this one and it changed her opinion, who knows...
True, but she has collaborated extensively in the past with her producer, Max Morton. Check out his stuff here on UA-cam sometime. He has a great voice too, although his musical style is much more straightforward than Jinjer's.
@@rofyle I know. :)
Jinjer sights Twelve Foot Ninja as one of their influences, they also get along well and tati said yes to the collab before hearing the song. I wouldn't be surprised if Kin (TFN singer) fts on a jinjer song or tati does another with TFN again 🤘
Vegemite is a thick, dark brown Australian food spread made from leftover brewers' yeast extract with various vegetable and spice additives.
TFN are an insanely good band you should check them out. Their new album is a fantastic listen I think you’ll like them.
you got me with the video too.
This vid is a *gem* of heroic-dose-fuelled absurdist dreamsurf!! #MusicVideoOfTheYear
Cool wee song too. Kin & Tatiana's voices compliment each other a treat imho (Kin deserves some praise for his arrangement of vocal harmonies, textures etc), that chorus is *hella* catchy, & the orchestration towards the end is quite beautiful. I love it when their FNM/Bungle influences show like this. Great stuff. :)
It was Cronenberg you were thinking of. It just makes me think of Rick and Morty now lol
Love your reaction! I always enjoy musician reacting, specially to band like TFN. Please, do more of them. This song more conventional as per their standards. And man, you play amazing guitar and piano!
I think you might enjoy their song Long Way Home
Omg wtf did I just watch?
I can't decide if I liked it. Like I feel like I shouldn't but I kinda want too lmao
John you should definitely watch this one!
Hey JW, you really should check out twelve foot ninja video for the song "coming for you " . This isn't really the best one to start with but that's all good. CHEERS Mate!
u need to watch more Twelve Foot Ninja try coming for you or ONE HAND KILLING
Lol I’m THRILLED to see your reaction to this one. Wonderful reaction as always. Loved seeing your face with the off color humor too 😂 I only ran into this one because I saw Tatiana in it. Never had heard of TFN.
If you’re interested, TFN has a new album out. One of the songs is called Vengeance. I’d really love to see your thoughts on that one. Thanks again!
This was friggin awesome! Thanks for whoever requested
Thank you, John! It's still Jinjer 90% of the time I listen to music, but I love this song and since Tatiana introduced me to Twelve Foot Ninja, I've liked the few other songs of theirs that I've heard - all fun/strange videos. ❤🖤🤘
Great song, also as a Fin i have to appreciate the video shout out to the Finish epic. :)
I listen TFN since 2013.
I consider them, one of the more underated bands in metal scene maybe because their humoristic goofy music videos. Anyone that apreciates and analyses music, my suggestion, is to, listen first the track, without the music video, and yes, and only then, see it.
Metaphorically, i consider TFN, that goofy kid in school, that never showns in classes or study a lot but at the time of exams, somehow he is able to get an A or A+. They are that kids that have an high IQ but they dont find nothing defying enough to stick to a limited subject interest because they can dominate several things with no big effort.
That is what i consider TFN, a extremelly talented band, that knows hugelly about music in general but, maybe because of that, cannot fit in one genre only, and possibly, and only possibly, Jinjer and Tatiana felt a connection with them. Both bands are a little bit in their own leagues. Jinjer are a extremely complex and talented band, with many technically nuances that can confuse even experienced listeners, but at the end of the day, you can say they are a pure metal band. TFN is not a pure metal band. They mix electronic elements, bossanova vibes, 80's vibes but...they still gravitate in the metal world. Personally i found amusing that recently, you only reacting to "difficult" bands to analise at is full but that "attraction" (no matter if your decision was because of Tatiana on this track), defines you as a tallented music guy. What i can say more? Analise the track "One Hand Killing" please, to really enter TFN "rabitt hole".
Thanks for taking the time to do this one man! Really enjoyed it. Been listening to the new TFN album and find it to be an excellent album. Lots of 80's sounds in the mix. Although they are known for their wild and weird videos, I think sometimes the video can overshadow the greatness of the music. But either way, very talented band. Would like to see you do a few more from them. Again, thanks for sharing your time and thoughts on this awesome song. Keep rockin 🤘
That moment you notice the major third in the chorus.
The last line by Tatiana is kinda creepy but also funny, but if I didn't know the meaning of Russian lines I wouldn't really get what they meant.
Basically she says (in idioms) that he's insane in first 3 lines, and then says that he's also dumb in the 4th. Each successive line is more aggressive/mean than the previous and it's kinda creepy how she doesn't break the character saying all that stuff.
Literally the idioms translate to totally different things of course but as I have asked around they essentially have the same meaning as the Australian counterpart in the subtitles.
Still not clear if they really meant that he had his mind blown by the revelation that the crazy dreams meant exactly what they appeared to mean =/
Is Tatiana his intrusive thoughts there? Then they are in an unknown language, again crazy.
Just for the completeness, she says
"You don't have everyone at home/You've got someone missing in your house" (an idiom meaning smthing like "you're nuts", I guess it's not too aggressive yet),
"You're not friends with your head" (easy - "you're inadequate, unreasonable", kinda rougher IMO, as if she would lecture him for doing something weird)
"Your roof is gone/slid away" ("you're insane" even more aggressively, I guess that one would be for more aggressive situations, like blaming someone already)
"You've got only one cerebral convolution/gyrus and it's all straight" (basically "you're dumb").
I think you were thinking of Zoltar.
More cheats for Jinjer fans btw: Zlam/Злам (Vlad's old band) and Tol/Тол - Bazil Pereverzev's old band (also Vlad used to substitute a drummer for them)
I love this MV!. Great job man.
Really enjoyed the music breakdown you give , very knowledgeable, not sure if it works out that the character in video is portrait as being slow to catch on I.e 40 years later due to his minds wheel turning and hamster being dead ,cheers enjoyed that
I think you would dig more Twelve Foot Ninja... I personally really like stuff like this song or Collateral, which are a bit more straight forward, at least tonally... But a lot of their stuff is pretty genre slippy... The guitarist and principal song writer is a huge fan of Mr Bungle, and I'd say a lot of their stuff kind of has a California era Mr Bungle vibe to it.
Some of their other songs have more mixes of many genres that I enjoy. They take their music seriously, but have so much fun with it
I never would have associated this music video with Cronenberg but I do like where your mind wanders. I'd love a top 10 or 20 list of your favorite horror movies, just for fun.
I have to do this sometime! 😊🤘
one more time > JINJER - Disclosure! (Official Video)
I watched the premiere. Tried to set up a live stream but my computer had a heart attack. Great video!
@@JWSoundworks2then maybe do it again a little later together with the JINJER ARMY :-)
What a great video! I love your insights always! I'd love to see you react to Avatar too
Speaking of Tatiana....I saw Jinjer in Chicago on November 7th!! BEST.SHOW.EVER !!! Also, I just found out that they are releasing a new music video on Monday but I am not sure what song it is for!! Doesn't matter. They could cover Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and I would pay for that shit!!! \m/ \m/
Vegemite is and will forever be known as Dream Gravy to me lol
You should check out the newest album from Between the Buried and Me, Colors II. Maybe start with Revolution in Limbo or Never Seen / Future Shock.
Yeah these guys are pretty great. So happy they are getting the Tatianna boost.
You know who else are Australian and have a song called Vegemite? That’s right….
KING GIZZARD AND THE WIZARD LIZARD!!!
I am LITERALLY only here for Tatiana... lmao
man check out one hand killing from 12 foot
I know you've been doing a lot of Jinjer lately, so I understand if you want to move on to someone else. But at the risk of exhausting you with yet another Jinjer request, I will ask have you considered reviewing another one of their albums? "King of Everything" is still considered today by fans to be their best album. It is their second album, and it came right at the end of a tragic accident that saw their former drummer permanently paralyzed from the waist down. They were still unsigned, they had still not found much in the way of commercial success despite the wonder of their genre breaking debut album, and they had reached a point where they were seriously considering calling it quits when they went into the studio to record this album. The album would produce their two most important songs, "Sit, Stay, Rollover" which got them signed, and "Pisces" which marked the beginning of their commerical success. The entire album is a wall to wall banger. But like I said, I totally get it if you would prefer to move on to something else instead
The things Tati says at the end are ways of saying he's nuts. IIRC they are Australian idioms translated into Russian.
These are not translated Australian idioms, but Russian idioms that are close in meaning.
Please check out some TFN, any of it you won't be disappointed 🤘🏼🤘🏼😈😈 love Tati and JINJER of course, great reacting
I really like your reactions! You’ve got a talent for explaining so that a non professional , such as me, understand what’s going on. For example the minor/ major part. I NEED you to get on the dirty loops train! Please check out “work shit out”. You won’t regret it🙏
My theory on the clip is that the guy is in a coma or near dead and doesn't know it and has weird dreams he doesn't understand. The moment he realises he is dead, his head explodes. I may be completely off, this is just a theory of mine based on having watched the video several times
the wheel spins, but the hamster is dead! Totie implies he's not very smart! Get's it after 40 years! LOL's
In Ace Ventura there's a quote "the engines running but there's no one behind the wheel" lol.
Video is a metaphor for the ultimate demise of the band. And the member that ended.up being thr catalyst for it. Pretty sure the man was tired, needed more from life. Or less of something. Just my thoughts. The whole album tells most of the story i think.
70s stuff would look like this if they had the modern technology back then.
Hey john, "Put on a smile" by Silk Somic is the best song I've heard in a while. The instrumental is crazy. Would be great see your thoughts
Classical piano, fleshgod apocalypse are masters of incorporating classical piano into death metal so much that they have a pianist in the band, not to mention they have an opera singer as a regular..... also include orchestras when they can.
All and all what I am trying to say.... check them out
