Early Morrowind is the equivalent of playing dnd with a bunch of friends and just _always_ rolling a 4-5 on a 20 sided dice, not enough to be completely frustrated but *just* enough to be entirely unsatisfied until you, inevitably(because it WILL happen) absolutely break the game and become a living God.
Don't forget you have the paralyze short blade. Start with that, then switch to the heavy hitters and you'll wreck shop. I used those short blades all the way to the end. Invaluable.
There are actually alternative ways to get to the top of the fighters guild, depending on from whom you get the advancement quest. There are several factions withing the fighters guild, and the old guild master is the guy in charge of Ald Ruhn guild hall. If you go via his route, he'll even give you his old armor set and you don't need to attack thieves guild at all. "I'm advancing through mages guild using a spear." - But you're not advancing. For some reason you refuse to click on advancement dialogue option. So you're still an apprentice and thus don't have access to some of the higher ranked guild members services. Two enchantments I always make are night eye constant effect and restore fatigue constant effect. These make exploring much smoother.
Playing alongside this playthrough for the first time. In me free roamings I found the Fang of something Khet...I call it the Fang of Hibbily Dibbily and it freaking slaps! This game rocks :D
These have helped me relax and chill and sleep over the past few nights, so nice to sit and listen to what's going on with your adventure and drift away into a relaxing state. thankyou!
Don't know if you'll see this Josh, but the trick to getting gold off of the Scamp, or the Mudcrab for that matter, is to trade him a bunch of small items totaling up to roughly his gold total. Wait 24 in game hours, do this again, and repeat a handful of times. After you've done this sell him the big ticket item taking back all the smaller things you've sold him over the last few days to offset the value difference. Wait again, then sell him back the lots of smaller items. It's tedious to the point where many people mod the game to not have to deal with it, but it does work and lets you get the full value for your items, allowing you to buy supplies or training to speed up your progression.
Fun fact about the beds, even if you become the leader of a guild you can still be reported for a crime & expelled from that particular guild for sleeping in the guild master's bed 😅
Josh - really enjoyed the videos so far, really didn't think I'd watch that many hours of morrowind. Got me back into the game and just wanted to ask you one question... where's your uniform?
44:33 except you actually can. You have to talk to one of the Imperials ( Percius, I just looked it up) in the Ald-ruhn Fighters guild. Talk to him about some of the shadier sounding fighters guild quests and he can kind of guide you in the right direction if you want. 1:37:02 Gnaar Mok and Jilaad and Tenagra.
You can murder everyone in the Corner Club as part of a quest. Usually, the bartender gets aggro'ed during the fight. If you take him out, it makes a nice private house...
I know it's too little too late. But what you do is sell the shield. Weight 24 hours sell the ax while selling the ax. By back the shield, wait 24 hours. Sell the shield 30000 gold.
The best way I’ve found to get around gold limits on merchants, is to sell a very expensive item, then buy several other fairly expensive items that have a cost low enough that when you sell them back, the merchant has enough money the next day to buy them. So you sell an item, buy a whole bunch of two or 300 gold armor pieces, rest for 24 hours, and the merchants gold will be replenished, so you can sell one or two armor items back, wait another day and do the same until you sold all the items that you bought from the merchant back, to get the full price of a very expensive piece of gear. You end up spending a lot of time waiting around, but one or two pieces of gear can fund you for the rest of the game .
Me and my best mate growing up did a no teleport play through of this game as young teenagers and it took forever.. it was awesome. I miss this kind of experience in gaming.
Damn, you could have sided with hlolmar, killed the witch and looted the axe, given the axe back to hlolmar to receive +2 str attributes, then kill hlolmar for the axe.
I don't understand why Josh find the leveling system weird. I get why he does not like it, but i honestly feel like Morrowinds system makes perfect sense.
@@microsoul669 Oblivions leveling was awful. Almost impossible to control, making it a nightmare for min maxers. At least Morrowinds system allow control of your leveling, when you know what you are doing. Not to mention, that in Oblivion minmaxing was important to beat the enemy scaling curve, whereas you don't need to minmax to be a god in Morrowind. It's nice to minmax, but it is not required.
Did anyone tell Josh that Jiub, the other prisioner that wakes you up in the beginning of the game, later become a saint for killing all the cliff racers of Morrowind?
Assuming that Morrowind is on a globe, technically you COULD go West, the exact opposite direction than you intended, and eventually, with enough determination, you could get there...
there's definitely some bug to make bound gear permanent. i accidentally replicated it on a bow before and just had a weightless bow i couldn't drop all game.
It's too bad I work weekends or I'd watch your stream live. Love that you're playing this and it's been great doing my mmo dailies and watching you play

45:55 Ok Josh, if you pulled out those mix references on the spot, that... is pretty impressive, impressive fucked up brain but impressive nonetheless.
If you play Kenshi, I would like to offer some guidance on having a more productive, fair, and fun start that will make the whole game more worthwhile. Make sure you immediately go near a friendly town and mine some ores to sell and make enough money to hire some other people, doesn't really matter who. I would suggest at least 3 including your starting character to begin with, but eventually I think you should have at least around 8 for decent efficiency for maintaining a well-functioning base so you don't have 3 people doing 10 different things at a very slow pace. When you build a base, you'll have to start by buying building materials, but soon you'd be able to mine and make your own materials with mines and machines you build. Make sure you start near a place at least with stone as well as ore, and also near a town (but building is not allowed too near a town) and you might want to find a spot with some fertility as well if you want to grow things like hemp for profit or clothing/armor crafting, and/or vegetables and fruits for food. Use your prospecting tab to find good spots. Set one character's jobs to mine ores while the others sell ores and build the base, and make sure you keep a good supply of food at all times. Don't build on roads or other pathways unless you want random enemies trying to break down your walls just to use the path. I would suggest (if possible) that you find a place somewhat near a town with natural barriers like cliffs or other things that enemies can't go past and use that to reduce the amount of sides enemies can attack you from. If you build in another faction's territory, they may attack you like the Dust Bandits would, or force you to obey them like the Holy Nation does, but being attacked is not a big deal if you build turrets on a wall facing directly opposite of the main gate on your base, but I would highly suggest not getting on the bad side of any really powerful factions like the Holy Nation at least at the beginning of the game, so if they tell you to, just take their book they say you have to take, at least until you get more powerful. Designate one character to train in sneaking and lockpicking, equip it with a dust coat for acid rain protection while traveling, and send it off to search for ruins and other places where so you can sneak into areas that may have really strong enemies (too powerful to fight) and steal tech items like ancient books and AI cores for upgrading your base and crafted items, and you can also sometimes find legendary weapons or armor, but you'll be able to craft the highest quality items (that sell for A LOT!!!) at some point anyway, so the cores and books are the most important things to find. That's about all the info you might need for a good start, and if you don't follow it, you might just be running around the whole time hardly getting anything done and getting overwhelmed by every group of enemies that passes you. Base building is kind of necessary if you want the game to be more eventful, efficient, and fun, in my opinion.
I like how Razash says at 1:54:20 how hard it is to aim with a bow when obviously he hasn't even touched one in his life... My first shot was at 15-16 and within 2 minutes of practice I was hitting bullseyes from approx 10 meters...

Wait... does this version of the game still have that gondola glitch where all the gondolas in Vivec gradually assume launch position?
Josh, I think you should do yourself the favor and use the Oblivion Mana regen mod. Would save you a lot of trouble.
