Thoroughly enjoyed this film. I will surely go see it again before I get to buy it. He seems like a beautiful guy and deserving of the praise of this film
HOW can you do an entire interview on The Green Knight, and not touch on how wonderful Dev Patel was and how beautiful Lowery shot him in every single frame? HOW?
Personally, from the view of the Authentic Green Knight/Dark Knight's baby daughter, I don't find you did justice to quite how badass he is. I know I haven't seen your movie yet but seeing as I lived thru this tale, because myths don't leave memories behind, so I don't find that the Knight in question is a myth, by any means. I just don't see the Knight I saw in times of olde. He is a force to be reckoned with. Whole armies I watched him crush singlehandedly.
I believe we were just shown the fate that is to come for him if he continued as a man who gives up easily and cowardly, he would be forgotten and left there if he didn't keep going
Partly I think it was foreshadowing the ending. Setting up the device where the film sometimes shows alternative futures. So that we don't feel too wrong-footed.
It was a hot trash fire. He somehow managed to turn the blueprint of a traditional story into a non-traditional story. The guy should be ashamed of himself.
@ toutdeed12 It wasn’t like a traditional story; it was very surreal and hallucinatory, and it became just a series of bizarre, almost random episodes that, to me, didn’t really add much to the overall quest. Very beautiful cinematography, fine acting, but unsatisfying in that it didn’t cohere into a powerful story. Just my two cents.
Yes, I was VERY excited to see it but it was a letdown. For me, even the most atmospheric movie is diminished if it doesn’t have a strong story on which to hang that atmosphere.
@ toutdeed12 You’re quite right; basic storytelling seems almost a lost art these days. Although I tend to give Lowery credit for more talent than most, since he’s made some good movies before. I almost think he was trying to find a new form of storytelling in this case; it just didn’t pan out. (Or maybe it did, and I just didn’t get it: the movie clearly has some real fans.) I also like Kosinski!
@@iAmTheSquidThing The director in this video himself says he wasn't going for a traditional story. And I don't see heroism in constant failure that doesn't reflect on yourself.

@@dcgrocknroll Yeah, the focus of this film was the journey itself which is not the most exciting but provides a great opportunity to create beautiful landscapes and play around with the cinematography for great artwork.
