13:17 he paraphrases the monologue he wrote for A Ghost Story. Fascinating.
film is great and definitely warrants rewatches. the setting, the pace, the characters, the story and just the fantasy of it is transcending. this is the fix for pans labyrinth.
Pan's Labyrinth is a masterpiece, this movie is not, as much as I enjoyed it, I give it a 7 out 10.
@@Kumbaso yeah its a great movie... but its no pans labyrinth
The movie was was phenomenal. Thank you for sharing it with the world David.
Saw the movie with some friends the other day. Easily my favourite movie of the year so far no contest
This movie is fuckin’ awesome. Loved everything about it. Makes me laugh the people who didn’t have the attention span or maturity to enjoy it.
It wasn’t even faithful to the original 15th century tale; Gawain and the Green Knight. Have the maturity to read the book, then tell me if it was awesome…
Well different opinions does exist
@@DougiePlaysSoccer well first off, it was a poem. And second, it’s supposed to be an original take on the legend. If you knew what art is you would know about realism and Impressionism.
@@core4090 don’t bother arguing with them
@@DougiePlaysSoccer it was an adaptation. It’s a remix, supposed to be different
Love the breakdown, love his painted nails even more 🔥
The Green Knight was an amazing movie. I enjoyed it very much. The story was amazing and journey of the knight’s quest had me locked on the whole time. Great acting as well with all the cast members.
Arthur's actor is phenomenal. This film was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. The sound in this film was equally as intense. The sound of the Green Knight moving, all the creaks and snaps... If you're a person who doesn't really understand metaphor, I would definitely understand how it might just seem a weird movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and followed it with delight. Another perfect late night film by A24. The whole thing is like a moving painting in every shot. Brilliant cinematography. Get a little buzz and it's like a fun dream. I can't wait to own a copy. I hope I get to see it again soon.
Perhaps the most amazing sound of all was Ineson's natural voice.
And the heartbeats!
Excellent film. However, I do recommend reading the original story before getting into this film to understand it better.
Arthurian lore has never really interested me all that much, so I originally only saw this movie because of Dev Patel. But it’s so unique and bizarre, I fell in love with it. It’s still as enjoyable after a third watch as it was on the first.
This Director will realize some of the best movies to see in the future. The Green Knight is a masterpiece, is pure and sutile art of cinema and photography, is great. Waiting for new movies by David Lowery soon.
This one was an absolute masterpiece.
Not to mention the fact of course that Sean Harris‘s father Richard famously played King Arthur himself in the musical Camelot both on film and stage for many years
Definitely checking this out when I can. Looks so great on a technical and directing level.
Masterpiece pure poetry... Bravo... Croatia
I salute you sir for creating one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. It's a true masterpiece.
I had the green knight in a collection of myths and legends and it was one of my favorites. So glad you picked an obscure tale like gawain.
this and king kong godzilla are thenonly 2 movies i could bother bringing myself to the theater for.
The movies i saw prior were joker and 1917.
Watching this as a film student: You brilliant psychopath
What?
Maybe he could break down why there’s still no release date for Australia…

@@hurrrmmhmmmhmghh8912 we deserve a theatrical release TT__TT

This movie is so beautiful.
I love this man’s films. He’s a great, director!
The movie is such brilliant piece of art and to get a glimpse into behind the scene really makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
The only movie I have gone down to the theater to see this year. Loved it!
What a visual masterpiece...
Powerful piece and a majestical movie. Loved it ! Even though it was pretty unsettling and wierd sometimes the plot put everything into perspective 👌🏽 i love it when a movie does that
Still haven’t watch it there’s not lot of screenings around here in Belgium but this just ignites my wok to watch this even more !
When it comes to stories of life lessons of morality & growth, its great to see a vision by a creator who is very well resourced & will put forth the effort of care into it.
Harry Potter to Dumbledore: LOOK AT ME
"This lady is painting... this person is a painting... I'm a painting... you're a painting..."
*I want **_The Green Knight_** to tie the 14 Oscar nominations record.*
I really enjoyed this movie A lot. I've heard a lot of hate against it on the interwebs. I've heard a lot of people say they don't understand it. I don't get any of that. It was a beautiful authorian movie in a day and age where the quality of movies isn't what it used to be. I would love to see more like it
The green knight really looks like one of the 3 masks in Dark souls 1.
His nails 🥲 love it
This was such an awesome interview. Captivating
it is the first movie in a long time to move me, it stays with me and I want to learn more about the poems and stories. thank you sir!
Well said . Hearing the director's perspective added alot to this movie for me. Well done good sir...well done indeed 👏
Best new film I've seen in a long time! Amazing storytelling!
I wish he talked about the scene in the forrest where the camera pans around revealing a skeleton at the end of the shot before panning back around to an alive sir gawain.
Genius film and breakdown of the first scene.
