WELL-PRESERVED CHINESE VILLAGE, CIXI VILLAGE, CHINA 江門市新會古井鎮慈溪村 HOME OF OVERSEAS CHINESE: PART 1

Many thousands of Chinese left China in the 1800s to go overseas. Most of them came from Jiangmen, China in Canton province, and many of them came from Cixi village. I went to this village to explore the life there. Some people still live in this village including people who still use the same well for water hundreds of years ago. Welcome to the home of overseas Chinese. Cixi village has a 580 year history!
It takes about 1.5 hours to go from Zhuhai Gongbei port to Cixi village. Crossing over from Macau to Zhuhai took about 1/2 hour. It was not so busy this time.
