John's death felt so unexpected, he was part of what made the reboot of the series work by going in a different direction. I was ok with it when they brought in his dad, but then they killed him off too lol.
Ikr. They Killed so many good characters and ruined all the main characters. Alicia, Daniel, Victor, Dwight, Althea, John, Virginia, Dakota (actress just so good), Madison, June and etc. So many characters had potential, but writers just give them shitty writing and keep boring characters like Luciana, Charlie, Sarah and Wendell alive.
@@5i.260 I agree with most of it I really liked Dwight on fear until he joined padre and when he became good again he thought instead going to Alexandria go back to Sanctuary I mean aren't the children probably safer on Alexandria? I never really liked Victor but the writing was good I think he was a great villain but they still should have made Victor in season 4 the big bad and the rest of the series he tries to redeem himself(also Alicia killing him instead to safe him in season 7 would also be better) Alicia was great until the stupid Padre arc... And maybe the time she didn't want to kill walkers anymore (secretly probably because it was a radioactive Walker blood she got all over her face because directly after this kill she refused to kill walkers) Alethea was always garbage for me, only recording everything is more important than everything else And I liked Charlie I think she was a great character sadly her death was badly handled by dying for nothing (I would have loved to see her dying with Alicia at her side, maybe even Alicia keeping he season 4 promise to shot her, ) But I respect your opinion
I honestly didn't have much of a reaction to Travis' death. It was more like "Oh wow they killin him off already?" Then I kinda forgot about him when the story moved to the ranch.
@@evalationx2649 I liked Travis and I get why some fans were unhappy, but I always felt like he was going to be the first really big character to die. He had a conscience, and his death opened the door for Madison to become a colder character. Like you, I was fine with it and the story moved forward on the ranch. They f@@@ed up with Nick, John and others.
I thought Chris' death was cool, it was so realistic, how bad choices can end up screwing you, Jim's death I put potential in him, and he died so soon, Trávis and John's death was complicated too, but Nick, the guy who came off the street completely fucked up, and his character growth was surreal
John > Nick > Chris John and Nick were half the reason I watched the show (other than Alicia). Chris death was just sad because of how it reflects a dumb kids bad choices.
Nick and John dying from the stupidity of a kid is what pissed me off the most.. Like.. Ugh. John's father death was a honorable one. Felt bad for Rufus.
The writing for this show is complete garbage. Sad because it always had potential, i always thought it was going to be a prequel to the whisper arc. Where it would turn out that Madison was alpha and Travis was Beta. Would have been a cool twist, and fans of either show would be divided on who to root for. But it was nieve of me to think the writers for either show are smart enough to pull something like that off.
John Dori had my heart. His death bothered me the most. Second for me is Nick's death. Both these people taken out by stupid characters/lil girls.... freaking irritates me to no end.
I guess there isn't many other than this when it comes to main characters? Could have halved this list to make it more intresting but you are right, the John Dorie scene stuck to me. I barely even remember the rest
John Sr. was sad but there was no real emotion since Morgan just walked off like he didn't care so it felt like no one really cared. That goes for most deaths in this show which is why none of them are really sad except for John and Nick
You know the real reason a zombie outbreak would be a pain in the ass is they'd be a lot harder to kill than these shows depict. First of all you'd be targeting the cerebellum, this is a way smaller and harder to hit target than the brain itself. Which of course would spark Battle of Yonkers like panic as everybody begins shouting "I shot im right in the head! These things can't be killed they're indestructible!" Putting a knife through a PERSON's temple can be fatal, but for a zombie that's all dead tissue anyway. Secondly your armoring at the base of the skull is pretty intense, and for good reason. You can survive a pretty amazing amount of trauma to the brain, however any damage to the base of the brain is a kill zone period, it automatically controls breathing and circulation. So simply hitting a zombie at the base of the skull would do it but it'd require tremendous effort, a lot of strength and this is including with a knife. They always make bodies look like they made from playdough, you can't physically rip open a person's torso with your hands, and puncturing a person's skull with a knife needs a lot of strength and force. But then again, biting into a person also needs so much force most likely the zombies are going to tear all their teeth out on people's clothes before being a super scary threat.
I love Travis' death. Not because I disliked his character, quite the opposite. But because of how sudden it was. The walking dead rarely ever kills off a main character in an episode that isn't episode 1-8-9-16. So to have him killed off in episode 2 and in such an unceremonious manner was brilliant in a depressing way. His character was so well written, and when he killed Brandon and Derek, it was so merciless. A man fit with rage. Something that is missing from present TWD, the brutality.
I agree with you if they didn’t end up killing Nick a season later and then John Dorie. Then “killing” Troy, Madison, and Alicia in succession was a terrible writing choice and cheapened the argument that Travis’ death was good writing.
This show had so many annoying and lame deaths. Take Nick for one example, I get that the actor wanted to leave but is that really the best that they could come up with?
