Kayaking with DOLPHINS! Incredible up-close footage!

- A pod of Common Dolphins join me whilst kayaking off the South coast of Cornwall, UK. Around 10-20 Dolphins follow my kayak for over a mile along the coast and allow me to get some great video footage of the pod swimming alongside and jumping out in front of the kayak. There is no better way to start a day on the water!
Cornwall is a great place to kayak with Dolphins. There is a really healthy population around the coast of Cornwall and every so often they like to come and investigate the kayak. They are inquisitive creatures and enjoy playing as you paddle (or in my case pedal) along. It is important not to chase marine wildlife and let them come to you on their own accord. After around 20 minutes this pod had finished their fun and went on their way further out to sea. A really great experience!
For those interested, i am using a Hobie Mirage Drive kayak, specifically a Revolution 16. This is a kayak propelled using a pedal drive system, which drives two fins beneath the kayak to push the kayak through the water. An incredibly efficient system!

You did such a beautiful job in capturing priceless "moments!". The exhilaration of this experience is indescribable!! I have come to know the dolphs in my area over many years while paddling alongside side them. It never get old!!! Always a blessing and a privilege on so many levels!!
Thank you for this video!!! ❤️❤️🐬🐬
Fabulous, always puts a smile on your face 🙂
Very cool 🐬✌️
amazing video
Very nice and a great way to be with nature that surrounds you :)
Wow! Just wow! Utterly inspiring. Just bought my first kayak and videos like this are exactly the reason why! 👍
It’s always a memorable experience, there’s just something special about the dolphins wanting to interact with you!
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing
Nice to see you out on the water mate enjoying the fresh air... Can't wait to get down your way dude.
It was great to be out. The fishing was rubbish but just nice to be in the open air for a while at the moment! Roll on summer 🎣
That was amazing. Must be so cool to see that. And being so Lowe down in the water as well you really get the sense of being up close and personal with them. Top class mate!!
It really is a great experience, you can see them much better than the camera shows. Really cool seeing them swimming and shooting around beneath the kayak. So close you can almost touch some of them!
@@CornishKayakAngler aww mate thats so cool would love to experience that 1 day. Keep up the great video's mate tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Lucky boy Liam. What marvelous friendly creatures or maybe they think you know where the mackerel are!!
I was hoping they were showing me the way to the fish, I did catch a few Mackerel actually! 🎣😀
That's fabulous! It reminds me of when I was surrounded by a massive pod of dolphins 12 years ago. I did a video called 'Sailing with 100 dolphins!'. I was in a sailing boat then (not mine, I was a crew member!) . I like your Kayak setup. I've eventually bought my very first Kayak today after too many years of not being on the water, an Itiwit 2/3 person inflatable (I have to start somewhere!). Unfortunately I don't have anywhere to store a rigid Kayak. Bless you :)
You were like the pied piper for 🐬 great to see
I think I must have a dolphin magnet fitted to the kayak 🐬 🧲 they were certainly playful and didn’t want to leave me alone!
I far rather deal with that then surrounded by sharks any day.dolphins R like a gift 2 us natural friendship with us humans protecting us from sharks or drowning 👍😁☺️GO DOLPHINS
It’s always magical to see them, even better when they want to play up close! They are very clever animals 🐬
they follow me on my kayak and i shit my pants 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Very nice 👍, u using an older kayak?
The kayak is a 2017 Hobie Revolution 16, it’s great for covering distance quickly. Hobie have now discontinued this model though 😭
Whereabouts off cornwall was this?
