    Just use Bicarbonate of soda and superglue it’s how they fix chip in helicopter blades. Put the tape over the hole, fill with Bicarb that drip the suplerglue into the powder it sets like rock instantly.

      @@davidgagnon2849 😆😆Not big repairs, just things a bit bigger than stone chips. There’s a good video of the guy that the repairs telling the story of him getting a late night call to do a repair on a clients helicopter in a hanger. Then while working, someone called the police, when the hanger was raided by the police the guy tells how had to explain why he was sneaking around in the middle of the night in an international airport hanger with big 5kg bags of white powder (the bicarb of soda) in the boot/trunk of his car.

      If it's just a small chip, you can do the baking soda first, but if it's a deeper gouge, do the glue first. You can end up with un-reacted baking soda & air pockets underneath the reacted glue since it can only penetrate so far before it solidifies & prevents further reaction beneath it. If we do the glue first, we can use any amount of baking soda, wipe away the excess powder, sand the new plastic into the desired contour, & then build on top of that plastic or fill any voids in it with more glue & baking soda.

    great but why do you need to burn the wool?

    Great idea. I sent this to a friend who suggested it would also work with epoxy glue if you wanted it to be used to patch an area or fill a hole with a stronger solution. Using quick setting epoxy you could also slightly mould it as it sets.

      Epoxy glue will not be stronger than superglue and steel wool or especially super glue and baking soda my friend absolutely not

    Mixing baking soda or cinnamon in with the granulated steel wool will make the cyanoacrylate set faster and stronger. Then make sure to sand the work. It will look much nicer and be much stronger. That is of course when it is embedded into the object, not just attached to a surface like in the video here.

    A variation.... I have used Gripfill building adhesive mixed into steel wool as a very effective way of rodent-proofing gaps and cavities...

    • @videos40058
      @videos40058 11 днів тому

      hei why are you over complicating thinsg? In my experience with rodents.. I learned that you can put even a plaster board of 1cm thick that is not a big deal to rodents to get thru. But if you make sure there is no draft of air passing by .. they will never try eating it. They are also builders. they know about where the obstacle is thick or sensitive. Because of air draft.

    Personalmente creo que no puede haber reacción química entre los diminutos trozos de acero y el pegamento de loctitte (cianocrilato). Otra cosa es mezclarlo con algún mineral alcalino como puede ser el bicarbonato de sodio o la arena común, en esos dos casos si que puede haber una reacción potenciando las cualidades originales del cianocrilato. Puede que esa reacción también tenga lugar entre ese tipo de pegamentos y los electrodos usados para soldar...
    ¡¡¡Un saludo!!! 😁😁😁🖐

      This works in the same way as steel in reinforced concrete and glass or carbon fibre in resin It's not a chemical reaction between the component parts but phyics of the steel rods or fibres stopping cracks developing. The result is a stronger outcome than just using the concrete or resin on its own, plus in the case of fibre glass, you can shape the fibre glass or carbon fibre..

      @yeroca 15 днів тому +3

      @@olivvapor4873 First, the only adhesion is to the edge of the hole, and I can guarantee that's a very weak connection. The steel shards (actually iron because he burned it first) are aligned vertically because of the magnet, which adds zero strength, because you need some cross connection between the "strands" of iron to add strength.
      Lastly you'll notice that he doesn't actually test the strength of the repair other than to tap on it lightly a few times. That showed nothing.
      This video is basically UA-cam clickbait.
      A real patch would have used fiberglass or carbon fiber and some kind of epoxy.
