Hey! I really enjoyed this video.
If you were in charge of Legendary Pictures’s MonsterVerse, how would you handle it? How would you incorporate the anti-nuclear warfare message that is prevalent throughout the Godzilla franchise?

I've heard people make counter arguments toward the film's use of nuclear weapons with how “the original film had Godzilla killed by a super weapon". I don't buy that because Serizawa in the original film sacrificed himself so that the Oxygen Destroyer wouldn't be used again. That and the original film had maturity- something KOTM didn’t have.

The original film also showed the struggle Serizawa had with the Oxygen Destroyer. It weighed on his conscience greatly. In this movie, the nuke is almost completely framed as something the audience should be glad the “good guys” can use.

Godzilla King of The Monsters gets worse the more I think about it and not helping are these unfortunate implications. Even if the problematic messaging is removed it's just not good.
As I mentioned in my video, I can't enjoy it as a mindless monster movie because the monsters are obscured and the film just reminds me of superior Godzilla movies. Also there's Emma Russell. She was poorly redeemed.

I didn’t hate King Of The Monsters but I admit that’s mostly because one, I love King Ghidorah and Mothra so seeing them together in that film made me geek out so hard, and two, cause I’m comparing it to the 2014 Godzilla movie which I couldn’t stand. The hypocritical decision to throw a nuke on Godzilla at the end of the first one definitely was one of the reasons I didn’t like it, and I thought the studio would learn in the sequel but nope. I also thought they would spend more time developing Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins characters since it seemed like they were going to be the focus in the sequel but they really didn’t. When Sally’s character got stepped on and Ken’s character looked sad it was a waste because did we ever learn anything about her and their relationship or friendship or whatever. Nope. And the. Of course he dies setting off the nukes that he was rightfully apposed to in the first movie. It’s a shame, the movie had potential.

This. No words. Just this vid. 🔥 i love king of the monsters but i agree. America always loses the soul of a thing when it tries to adapt something not akin to its own culture.

Heyyo! Just curious since I know you like classical literature; thoughts on the Wizard of Oz series and Les Miserables?

Pandastical The Wizard of Oz is a little simplistic for my taste, though certainly not the worst choice for children to read. The formulaic structure grows a bit old for me, though. There’s also a cool example of an early transgender character with Ozma. I’ve actually not read Les Miserables, so I can’t speak to that. I recently finished Hunchback of Notre Dame, which I found to be a slog, but I’ll likely get around to Les Mis someday.

@@MothsAudioandVideos if you thought hunchback was a slog I’m not sure you’d enjoy reading Les lol. I disagree about Oz being overly simplistic and formulaic, but I do think that ozma is interesting in that way

@@pandastical9205 By formulaic, I guess I mean things like repeating the same lines over and over again. Formulaic probably isn’t the right word, but repetitive.

This honestly puts my criticism into words man. Since 2014, I feel Godzilla movies even in Japan such as Shin and the Anime Trilogy being awful & betraying the original's themes. Thankfully, Singularity Point is a breath of fresh air
