Another tip is to make sure the ball shaft size matches the hole in the hitch. One time I borrowed a hitch ball mount with a ball already mounted from a friend & as I was towing a trailer I noticed in the mirrors the front of the trailer was moving more than previously. After closer inspection the ball had come loose in the ball mount because the ball had a .75" shaft & the ball mount had a 1.125" hole.
