As someone mentioned a commentary: I wouldn't do it for a speed run, as you probably need to focus on what you do a lot. But I would love a separate series, basically the speed run with commentary cut into easy to digest episodes. That would make for a pretty useful DSP series.

Having a neighboring planet with 11m silicone and fire ice means you never have to go out of your own system. Just thinking about the time I wasted getting silicone out of stone (Si ran out before I could warp space) and then setting up a megabase far away from home annoys me.^^
Amazing, it definitely a lot faster than me who played 3 days only to get the spehere erected 15 degrees up. At around 1:26:00 , I usually draw a big rectangle of conveyor belts around the mines first. The ore movement then will be a closed circuit. Dragging the line out from the mines, which is much faster. Then i build the smelters around the big rectangle, just drag and drop them around it. Only the assemblers requires more careful placement. Even if i only need the ore flowing, i can drag a line from any point from the rectangular circuit. Tho it need the sorter hub to do it efficiently.

Great run. I bet you could optimize it a lot further with the new copy+paste feature they added recently, instead of placing/connecting everything one at a time.
Are you using any mods? I've never encountered Fire Ice(or any other rare resource) on a planet in the starting system before (except for the Gas-giant ofc)
It is rare but fire ice is can spawn in the starting system, I think one other exotic can spawn but it is like mega super rare. The rest require other star systems.
I know that this isn't the fastest time, but it is the fastest unsegmented I've seen, which is just awesome on a different level! Can you share how much planning effort went into this before you recorded it? Did you try put the map much and preplan where stuff would be? I got to 4.5 hours on mine when I got yellow going. Really inspiring to watch this over the segmented ones because you did the whole thing live with no reloading.
Really great run, but it really hurt my heart, that you missed to connect the two smelters at 15:34 From 22:52 onwards that possibly made your production a little slower, even though it probably did not make you slower in total It nearly made me cry when you connected them at 23:54
Speedrun is massively cool though I always play for big numbers. I tend to get carried away with massive builds and planetary takeover, though in recent times I've revised everything I do because I played a little too much Factorio/Satisfactory (pre-drones). Logistic towers are basically everything the moment you unlock them.
Meanwhile: me sitting in my 386 hrs savegame high asf and absolutely stunned when im seeing my dyson sphere s the swarms and everything and not even finished with the science lol
You gotta consider the energy spent making graphite. If its a minimal improvement its not even worth the time because now you're spending time building extra stuff and clogging up your infrastructure.
2 Pieces of Coal get you 4.32 MJ (you get only 80% of the 2.7+2.7=5.4 that's listed due to the Thermal Power Plant efficiency) Graphite: 5.4 MJ (80% of 6.75) Smelting for 2s: 0.72 MJ This puts graphite at 4.68, so the difference is negligable even before factoring in building time, building cost, footprint, etc.
Why don’t he just shift-click to copy building and sorter and the click and drag to set up a line of smelters or assemblers faster? Instead of single plant every sorter

well you can't have a sphere at all without the solar sails. looks like he was always a few steps ahead so maybe after completing the game for the speedrun he built a sphere. I mean, he got Mission Complete for crying out loud lol

Speedrun idea: Milky Way (shoot one sail), should take ~1.5h, and Warper (produce one warper and upgrade to Drive Engine IV), should take 3-3.5h

Nice, wouldn't it be worth burning graphite early on instead? Or maybe the coal setup is so much quicker it's better.
I tend to go for the first two drone research techs first, which take together 300 blue science, before researching graphite
