This is the first video of yours I've watched. My mind is blown, and I realize so many things I've never truly studied about comics. So many things that bored me about drawing sequential art. I knew nothing. So begins my watch of all your well-presented content that had me on edge this entire video, absorbing like a sponge. Thank you.
When you start further digging into storytelling, you'll never get bored again! There are so many things to keep in mind and challenges to make a page work. Glad I could help some!
On this Topic, Tom Scoli's Fantastic Four: Design is the fastest book I've ever read. all those panels seem like a bad idea in concept but the panel per page count heightens the galatic crazyness of Kirby's fantastic four in a way that makes it feel to me like the loving tribute it was designed to be. Great video, thank you for making me think more about books I like a lot
Fantastic rendering of time crawling as her life fades. That you were able to get that done in a spread is great, showing you don't need 4 or more pages to handle that moment, and imagining reading it, opening it up to that would be impactful.
Vraiment impressionnant. Merci encore !
BTW it drives me crazy that Scott broke the 180 rule with the last gunshot Deckard makes. Having Deckard shoot to the right and having the last shot where he shoots to the left, makes it look like Deckard ran around to the other side of the store to shoot Zora.
I never noticed that! It felt to me like the camera was moving around the scene - on Deckard’s right, on Zhora’s right, deckard’s right, then Zhora’s front, and then Deckard’s left/front. Plus because of the slow lotion We know he couldn’t have gotten around that quick, which gives more wiggle for the 180 imo
Thank you for sharing this passion with us. It is infectious! I cannot help but admire your stylish presentation combined with concise and thoughtful ideas. This all conveys your points clearly while being quite enjoyable. I am instantly a fan!
Thank you Elsa!! I'm learning SO MUCH from you! I'm really grateful for all the content you put together for us. I never found someone that explain comics like you do.
Hey Elsa! The best video yet! One of my all time favourite films outside of Star Wars. You need to speak to someone about doing a full adaptation of Blade Runner, I would buy it an instant!👏🏻
Excellent video! I would like to see you analyzing some page of Jordi Bernet's works, Torpedo, maybe. Great job, I'm in love with your process, highly didatic!
This was a really great study video. I should try this myself someday especially since I'm trying to get better with 2D digital art. It's been great to watch your journey the past year.
I like your panel design for the story. I was thinking of small panels that lead up to a splash page of her crashing throw the glass plans. something like when the flash runs with the after images. with the shots breaking up the momentum but I like your idea better
Brillant, first, When you said you would put the gunshot in the middle of the double page, I thought it would serve as a spinning point for the both gun shots of the scenes. First page, she is running till the gun shot, and falling from the end of the page to the beginning of second page. Second page she's falling till the second shot (depicted in the same case as the former) then exactly have you have done with maybe a bigger case for the dead body.
Amazing breakdown. Something has been bugging me since I started to watch your videos though. What are the sayings pinned on your corkscrew board. I really would like to know.
@@ElsaCharretierChannelI'm maybe asking too much but... would you be as so kind as to share some of the tips with us?

she's so good at explaining this stuff. never learned it elsewhere.

THIS is my favorite thing on UA-cam!
Blade Runner is one of my favourite movies and this topic is truly fantastic. Thank you for this Elsa :D Huge fan of your work, especially November.
May be your best video yet.
This is really smart. Thank you very much for those tips
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
I clapped my hands by the end of the video. Consider me educated!
Love the 'Replicant Eye' shot at the beginning ;)
As much as I love this video, that was my favorite part!
Mind blown! I’ve never thought about comics this way…master class
Just came across your channel. Your videos are so comprehensive! Very informative!

Maybe blinking can also show time passing. Like the eyes getting more squinty in each panel, until they finally close.
Absolutely! It's the same principle as what I did. You decompose a movement to the extreme.
Incredible work, as usual!
So great. I love these videos and Blade Runner is a top 5 movie for me 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Same
Really love how well you teach concepts! Easy to grasp and implement in my own art!

Elsa brilliant as always. So informative and accessible. Excellent work.
Just... WOW! Congratulations for the channel!!!
That’s was great. Very well done, and I like a lot that part of slow motion. Very cinematic 👌🏻
Just incredible incredible work yet again!!

This was a fantastic and very insightful video! Please keep them coming! :]
This is gold. Thank you very much!! 🙂🙂🙂
This is beautiful. Wow. Not how I would have drawn it at all. WOW
Awesome work, thanks!
Amazing, thank you for the lesson❤

Thanks, Steve!
This was so great!!!! Thankyou!
Really fantastic video, I feel like I learn so much from each one!
Fantastic stuff!

Once again, amazing stuff.
Amazing channel, so inspiring!!👏👏👏👏

I loved this video! Could you refer me to any other comic book studies on depicting the passage of time?
video au top comme d'habitude !
I like your panel design for the story. I was thinking of small panels that lead up to a splash page of her crashing throw the glass plans. something like when the flash runs with the after images. with the shots breaking up the momentum but I like your idea better
Excelente!!! Gracias!
This video was great! Except for Howard Chaykin and Walter Simonson I find you to be the best visual storyteller in comics currently active!

Re-inventing the wheel ?

Haha, those are mostly notes about animation tools I need to keep in mind while drawing, and some marketing tips!

This Is really good.. but, IMHO there are too many panels , Id like something more sinthetic that better summarize the scene
I play this video and is already sakuga
T'es brillante tout bonnement
