These guys are so into their shows..no lights,,bells or whistles...just in your face bad ass rock n roll ...and it is like a family reunion , just like he says..
I was born Jan 3rd 1980. When I was 16 or 17 my Christian Mother took me to my first rock concert. It was JACKYL!! The concert took place at a Monster Truck Show. We got to meet the band members. I got my picture taken with them. I wish Jessie remembered me but it was so long ago. My mom even got me a concert shirt that said: Rock Me Roll Me Jackyl Me Off.
i remember when rocklahoma started, and all these stories came out about how it was 50,000 people rooting for the bands we love. the funny thing to me, is that whenever i see clips of rocklahoma, it always has giant sections of the crowd that are empty. don't get me wrong, i love these bands, but its no different than the cathouse rocks festival, where you watch clips and the place is 3/4 empty for 85% of it till the headliner plays.
Jackyl just so totally kicks ass. this band was around during the time of quiet riot, rat, twisted sister, Doken, Warrent, trickster, autograph, Judas priest, Motley crue, Ozzie and quite a few other bands that I can't name just off the top of my head right now. These guys were heavy metal when heavy metal first started and they're still going strong. My congrats to Jackyl. Keep on rocking boys.
And hair metal was definitely not around when metal first started. Heavy metal started with a couple of Beatles and Rolling Stones tracks from the mid to late 60s. Led Zep had quite a few metal tracks. Deep Purple and Black Sabbath were the first big metal groups and that was in the late 60s as well. Jesse James Dupri was born in late 1962 and was probably raised in the Atlanta area. I seriously doubt he would have been singing hard rock/heavy metal when he was 5 years old. LOL.
Shannon Edens Awesome babe, I'll buy all the party materials & anything else you can cook. I'm a grill cooker only.lol. For You're VIP reservations write back. Dave

***** Wait, I thought heavy metal started sometime around 1965. These guys didn't start playing until 1987.
And their first album came out in 92.
