As Mother's Day is fast approaching, I enjoy seeing Martha and her mother working together. It makes me miss my mother so much. Martha is lucky to have videos of her mom. Just being able to hear my mother's voice again, would be a great pleasure. There are so many things to miss about someone you love after they have left this life. But, most of all, you miss just being able to talk to them.
😭😭😭😭😭 Yes, it truly would be a TREASURE to HEAR our MOTHER'S VOICE. 🥰🥰🥰 My mother always had the video camera out documenting Our Lives when we were young children and I also got in trouble many times because I was moving the camera much too fast. Once a month we would watch videos we took in the past and I think we were up to about 50 or 60 reels from 1969 through 1979. I was unfortunately taken away from my mother by my eldest sister and have no idea what happened to those Super 8 tape recordings. I never got a single thing from my childhood not one thing. Had some photos but they were taken out of storage after 25 years and taken to a home I was building and somehow someone put a mortgage on my home and sold it so I never got any of my stuff. Don't have anything I had more than what I accumulated in the last five years.😭😭😭😭

🙏🌷👏 so delighted that this came up as my second stuffed cabbage video! How absolutely amazing it must be to have your mother next to you cooking your heritage food. My mother always made the best Hungarian stuffed cabbage and to this day it has remained my all-time favorite Hungarian food. Since so many men despise cabbage I haven't made it in quite a number of years but since I've been in the hospital for so long I am going to be selfish and make this stuffed cabbage recipe just for myself! My heart is so overfilled with joy and my eyes are filled with tears wishing that I could have had the opportunity to cook with my mother because she passed away when I was just 29 years of age caught up in that terrible rat race of trying to make a living although I (CORRECTED "didn't") DID IN FACT make every available vacation for my family and my mother. I'm just amazed that you put the apples in there which I have not seen before. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video! 💜

I used to teach gardening. We would all wait for the cabbages. I had to have plenty of cabbages so the kids didn't fight over them. Grandmothers would start gardens at home with the kids. My granddaughter likes kohlrabi. My son eats handfuls of leaves from everything. Kids will eat what they plant. One boy pulled up all the beans to check on how they were growing. We put carrot tops back in the ground, and the stub were continue to grow. They loved the compost, to discover how plants decomposed, and some came back from seed. One broccoli plant lived three years. They waited for the flowers to eat like popcorn. So glad to see this recipe. Like the stories your mother tells. My favorite porch stories were those of previous generations. One uncle begged the dad to get a car. Driving a team of horses pulling a wagon was behind the times. He got a car eventually, but driving it into the barn, he yelled "Whoa!". The car didn't stop, and hit the barn! Cars never listen.

So many memories while doing the chores needed for canning. Thank you for this sweet video of your mom. You can tell she was always making something. That’s where Martha gets her work ethic and skills. I can’t wait to try this version of stuffed cabbage. It looks delicious! Thank you!
I was looking for the old fashioned recipe I grew up with..this is amazing & adds apple, which is appealing. Making it for dinner tonight..thank you!
Wonderful demonstration Martha ,daughter and mother did great!!!!
Martha, love these videos with your mother! It kind of demonstrates the influence that you have had! The talent, the expertise, where it all came from!
This is the expertise! We all look at Martha Stewart as the expert! But when Mom is on the screen then we see where the real expertise is coming from!
I miss this show so much.
I'm from Moldova and my grandma always used to put the cabbage rolls aka Sarmale in the oven for about an hour aswell after they been cooking on the stove top for an hour. Putting the Sarmale in the oven also gives them even more flavour

Just the way her and her mom scoot around each other in the kitchen makes me realize HOW much I'm missing my mom and this is just the start!

Hello 👋 how are you doing today
Toby Golding! Thank you! So kind of you to answer!! 🤗
This is living history, not just a cook show - 90 years of grandma, 85 years of the mother (bless her) and the daughter - that's a history that sustains the mad world around us. Simply fantastic . . .
