Novostella Smart Outdoor Rope Light (52.5 ft) - Taking My Patio to the Next Level!

- Novostella has a ton of lighting options ranging from led lightstrips, to rgb flood lights, rgb led light bulbs and much more. This has taken my back patio aesthetics to the next level and will be great for family gatherings and parties like my upcoming Halloween party. The low profile means you won't notice this when its turned off also which is great because I don't want to add something to an area that ends up just being an eye sore. Let me know if you have any questions in the comment section.

I love decorating from Christmas and Halloween on my car. These will be going on my car and I think it will look great
they are cool in our rv we have them in the top of the ceiling hidden behind trim so gives a cool white glow
Nice!
Thanks for your review. Question. If you set a color, and shut of the outlet power, when you switch the outlet back on will it return to last color? Or does it revert to another color.
Thank you for taking the time to review this strip sir.
Could you tell me if the set has a stand alone white light please?
If so, do you know the k value?
I'm trying to find out if they would light up a 15' x 12' room as a primary/independent light source.
It does have pure white but you can choose any color on a color wheel which would include various K levels
Great video! On the one app, can you operate more than one string LED separately
Yes 👍🏻
Can you choose a specific set of colors to be displayed static? For example the color of a flag or something.
Not that I’ve seen in terms of setting certain colors on certain portions of the strip. It does have a red white and blue color scheme though
Weird question, but what about putting them on my gutters? For like Christmas time maybe.
The clips that hold them screw into whatever you want to mount them to so it’s possible but I’d worry they would fall out with bad weather
I live in a row home and there’s currently no board/rail on the ceiling between my neighbors and me, do you think the clips would hold the light strip upside down or should I first install a board/rail to secure them to in a similar orientation to your setup?
They fit pretty snug in the clips. I think if you run the clips first and have someone help you install the strip into the clips it’ll be fine.
@@1UpNerdcore thanks
I see that the box you're presenting is black with the led strip on it, but the link to the product sends me to a green box with a house in front. The description is similar but one is priced now lower than the other. Do you know the difference if any between the 2? Thanks!
I believe it’s just an updated version as the remote there is better but the specs are the same
@@1UpNerdcore thanks!
Can you use this around the gutters or soffit of the house and what other method can you use besides screws?
You use clips on gutter potentially or maybe some heavy duty double sided tape but I don’t think that would do well outside long term.
how do you make the 90 degree bends? do you have to cut them and put connectors?
He didn’t cut them, he just had it flush or close to what he can do.
Great video Question? How are these lights? are they still working? Thanks in advance
They’re still working great, we’re using them for our Halloween party this weekend 👍🏻
@@1UpNerdcore Thanks so much for answering so soon.I ll give these a try Thanks again for the great review
@@1UpNerdcore I just bought these I appreciate the update! I've seen a ton of bad reviews on the app. Is that still working well for you?
Question, I just bought the 105ft (2-52.5ft) strips of these off Amazon. Got them all setup outside. What app are you using bc the app it had me download looks similar to yours but definitely is not giving me all the preset light functions you have....which is what I thought I was buying so I can customize it more. I have the lotus lantern app but my choices are slim compared to yours.
Try the magic lantern app
How do you get to app to work with the lights?
@@1UpNerdcore How did you get the lights to pair with the Magic Lantern app? It only seems to connect to the Lotus Lantern app.
@@Siphtor I'm having the same issue. The Lotus Lantern app doesn't have all of the cool presets they're showing in the video on the Magic Lantern app.
@@mar_aurelius yeah I have not been able to find any solution to get the lights to work with the Magic Lantern app. I’m starting to think maybe there are two versions of the lights that work with different apps. Really disappointing though since the effects in the Lotus Lantern app are so limited. Please let me know if you find any way to get it working.
How can I connect the LEDs to the magic lantern app?
It should pop up in the app as a thing to connect to, if not when you open it try unplugging the light strip and plugging it back in 3 times to see if it pops up then.
Bluetooth
Hi can they work with Alexa please let me know thanks in advance
Not that I’m aware of
The 1 way around this you could buy and alexa or google assistant smart plug and you could use that
Are there any Christmas style presets on it?
Not specifically although you could create your own and some are Christmas style without specifically trying to be like the read and green color chase.
2:40 you say that it can only turn on and off cycles is less than 25000. So if you are blinking the lights on and off once per minute they will fail after in 87 days. (1 cpm * 60 minutes per hour * 12 hours per day = 720 cycles per day. Now 25000 cycles per lifetime / 720 cycles per day = a life 347 days or just over one year. Did I do the math right? Did I understand your 25000 cycles per life statement? Was that really the lifetime limit for this product?)
I think that has more to do with fully turning them off and then back on and not blinking
You advertise the wrong one on your Amazon link, had to return 105ft.
Nope, just checked it and it’s fine. The listing has 52 and 105ft, that’s your mistake.
You use the word “actually” as a crutch. No need.
Actually I don’t use crutches, I’m injury free.
