      Hi there, like to do an interview with me for my channel?
      P.S. I know you from about 10 years ago. I used to party a lot with Wave in Amsterdam. From my memory you were friends with Rio (a friend of Wave).

    Phuket is nice but there are too many tourists for my liking. I was only in Kata though would be nice to visit the other areas the next time I'm there ✨

    Nice video. I was in Phuket in February for a week, which was about 5-days too long. It was FAR too busy, especially with people from a certain country, who were completely ignorant! Bangla Road is marmite, I personally stayed around the top (2nd Road) end away from the Beach Road end in one of the bars with a brilliant band. Otherwise not for me. Karon beach is much nicer, more chilled, but still busy enough. I went to the Buddha on the ATV tour, which was fun and scary 😂 Regards the passport thing, go to one of the shops that provide photo/scanning services. They will do you a credit card sized laminated copy with both the main page and your visa stamp, so you can carry that around. Police checks are everywhere, better safe than sorry. Also do you have an international driving permit (IDP) with you? If not, they can nail you for that also. Stay safe

      Oh really! Yes I guess february is the high season and it gets soo busy haha. “A certain country😂”. I also really like Karon beach, more quiet. Thanks for the tip concering the laminated visa! And yes I do have an IDP, I regularly see police checking people. They haven’t checked me yet though.

      @@lifewithdency Good you have that IDP, a lot of people don’t bother, which is foolish. Whenever I land in Thailand, I always get the copy of my passport and visa stamp as a priority, saves carrying the passport around (less risk of loss). I have never been stopped or checked, but better to have and not need it, than need it and not have it. I’m back in November for 3-months this time, I will come to Phuket again as it still has loads to offer, but won’t be staying in Patong ever again. Stay safe.

    The problem with leaving your passport with the motorbike rental is that if the police stop you and ask to see your ID/passport, you won't have it with you. This is why you should opt to give a larger deposit rather than give up your passport. If that rental place refuses, just go to another rental place that will accept the larger deposit.

      @lifewithdency  Рік тому

      I did bring an international license! So that I can show that if they stop me. I fully understand you thought , its just quite hard finding a place that will accept deposit (in my experience so far)

    Girl, never give your passport as a deposit. NEVER! That is a rookie mistake, thats ok but in the future look for a reputable scooter rental place. That is just a lady who rents out the family scooters. She cant afford for you to crash it so she will keep your passport as collateral or so she can extort you and you have NO choice but to pay. Just pay B1000-3000 for a deposit and no passport. They cqn make a photo copy if they need but no keepsie. You will get the hang of the place 😉.

    Hi Dence, do you give them a copy of the passport or do they need to keep it in order to rent a scooter?

    • @lifewithdency
      @lifewithdency  Рік тому +1

      Hii! They keep your passport as long as you are renting the scooter

    • @kevinp8108
      @kevinp8108 Рік тому

      @monynhem6463 - it's not a good practice to give them your actual passport for several reasons: 1. If you're randomly stopped by the police at a checkpoint, they will ask to see your passport to see if you've overstayed your visa. 2. It's actually illegal in Thailand to use your passport as a deposit for a motorbike. 3. Your passport from a wealthy nation could be stolen by the motorbike rental. How? They could claim that they were burglarized and your passport was stolen by the burglars. Then your passport is sold to be used in some illegal activity.

      You’re right though, it’s risky. Imagine if they’d actually re sell your passport omg

    Bangla road is definitely geared up for men , but it can be over bearing for us as well 😆.. it is crazy , be prepared when going to all temples or places of worship , shoulders and knees must be covered and shoes must be taken off when entering certain areas, which can be very painful when it’s blazing hot and your hopping around on sun baked tiles 😆
    I was a bit disappointed in Phuket in general, yes the beaches are nice, but the best beaches are on the islands, which can just as easily be reached from Krabi, which is a lot more chilled and friendly (in my opinion 😉),
    Enjoy and stay safe 🙏
