    I have had a Federless SIGI for over a year now, and while nursing school has kept me from using it as much as I'd like, it is an amazing sword overall!

    I bet that if I saw this sword in a tournament I would be scared Schilt-less 😉

      How dare you make a play on words to produce something that sounds remotely offensive , hangings to good for it's a good kick up the arse you need

    The SIGI sword was my first new Feder after a used Regenyei. I never used it that much though, because as a beginner I had issues with its POB being further forward (mind you it varies from from each sword). I learnt to lean into a more bind and stabbing focussed style, then got myself a SIGI gothic at a tournament, which just felt right, being strong in the bind, but faster for blows.

    got mine 6 month ago. tho its my very first feder, so cant really compare much. however so far loving it - handling, durability, looks, all of it! the only minor minus for me, the cord wrap feels sometimes a tad slippery in my sweaty hands. easy fix with a pair of gloves

    I have found my SIGI Maestro Standard to be to flexible in the binds, to the point when I'm sparring i prefer to use my Regenyei.
    You say this is strong in the bind, i wish i were in a position to really compare them.
    Great review and thanks for taking the time to do it.

      Stiffer sword works better in bind works, for example, I own two Ensifer, which I really, really like as training weapons. They are both "stronger in the bind" than sigis, but with the weak spot of trading this (and other interesting features) with safety.
      So ideally it is better to have a stiff sword for more precise and slow work, and one for fast and hard work, sigis are ideal for the second.
      So, among the safe sparring sword, with great safety reliability and access to high speed thrusting actions, this is stronger in the bind than others. But stiffer swords always win the match, by trading a part of safety.

      Gothic is more agile in my opinion

    Can you Attend tournaments with shiltless feders?

    • @FedericoMalagutti
      @FedericoMalagutti  Рік тому +1

      Well yes, they have to flex and be of correct length, besides that the shape is fine.

    how does it compare to a regenyei in terms of handling and durability?

    • @FedericoMalagutti
      @FedericoMalagutti  Рік тому +5

      I personally consider all the SIGI an upgrade on every terms compared to reggys.

    i have ensifer heavy long which is too heavy == 1900g and too stiff. Then i have Aureus Federschwert HEMA Swoosh Renesans which is too stiff as well.
    Therefore only option for me now is Sigi Meastro nicely customized 550€
    I need a Feder there i dont consider Schilt-Less-Feder as a Feder because Feder is Feder not a sword^^
    PS: SIGI give pappenheimer rapier. NAUWW!
