In 1966 my Dad bought one brand new....owned and drove it daily it for 26 years. ..drove it with the back quarter light windows open to hear the exhaust note...stunning
Lovely Daimler V8.... Very rare in manual form, thanks for sharing
Jaguar/Daimler 1960's cars just beautiful. This one absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you - Couldn't agree more!
Beautiful car - I had no idea they drove like that!
I've always lusted after one of these! Back in 1968, there was a silver Daimler 2.5 V8 on a garage forecourt, in Baxenden Lancs (UK) for sale. I had an A35 van at the time, and kept driving past this beautiful Daimler. The image of that Daimler remains in my head 54 years later. The sale price on the Windscreen - was 525 pounds. An absolute beautiful timeless Classic! greetings from Australia.
Worth it just for that cool engine sound alone.
What a lovely car! That small V8 sounds really musical!
The sound is amazing, i loved.
Thank you!
Takes me back to my dark blue with cream leather one with polished engine , that was auto though still went like a rocket ! A beautiful car , thanks for the Exhilarating ride 👍😎
I owned one of the manual ones and loved it and regret selling it. This looks like a great restoration apart from one thing, the rear wheel arches. They make the car look thuggish.
I had an auto in the 70’s, great engine. My car was not in the condition of this one even all those years ago. Agree with you wheel arches look much better with the covers on. Happy days, you can beat a bench seat for you know what😊
Why not? It is a little badass...
Je pense que vous proposez les meilleurs caméra embarquée sur youtube ! Je me rappelle de la vidéo avec la fabuleuse silver shadow c'était mémorable ! Merci et bonne année :)
I have an 99% original 1968 auto. Same colour, but blue interior. Certainly could do with similar upgrades, but hard to justify $50k to achieve the result! Yours is one superb vehicle!
Beautiful car one of my favourites. Still looks fabulous.
Wow! That really is beautiful. The boot is huge. With the way you do these videos, that car will be sold very soon. 😃
Thank you very much!
Wow amazing
Thank you!
@@RetroClassicCar I have something I would like to sell but might not be suited to yourself a it’s in the final stage of being put back together
Lovely car 👍
That's beautiful do you know who manufactured the seats and trimmed the car
My grandfather had one in the same colours! Not wire wheels though; he had the chrome hub caps.
And really impressed with the steering. Looks much more direct than my original 68 model and no slack! Any mods there?
Hi there, yes it did! it was fitted with an Electro/Hydraulic Power Steering system
That thing rips for what it looks like lol
Thats Royalty on the sight!!♥️♥️♥️
Saw this Gorgeous in Goodwood race, even though it got troubled by light weight cars but still brought victory!! Rowan Atkinson (yeah yeah you heard it right ""Bean"") made fun of this car 😠😠😠 even he is a British too!! Sucker also participated in Goodwood race, drive Jag and making fun of!!
You are really Great guys Retro Classic Cars♥️♥️♥️..much love and respect!! keep up the work...made my morning..
This V8 engine would also have suited the 'S'-type.
Shame you never made use of the overdrive a few times, or the quarter light windows, fantastic car. Very underrated compared to the MK2, My Dads mate had one and chose it over a MK2 because he said it handled better?
It's criminal that little V8 was under used.
I always thought having it fitted transverse in the back in a little two seater would have been good.
Suppose it would have clashed with the e type but it could have been fun !
250 V8 Factory Manual with overdrive a special car.
50 MPH in second gear
Deceptively fast.
Firing order decides exhaust note and manufacturers spend fortunes nowadays trying to replicate the sounds that this car and the Triumph Stag made in standard form.
Also the majestic major... with added grunt!
Strangest motorway I have ever seen.
Look out Barclay’s bank….
Beautiful motor got one but nothing like that
Tengo uno 1964 con motor 235 v6 Chevy siiii
Yup, a Daimler 250 V8 with a manual 'box is a COMPLETELY different beast when compared to the usual 3-speed slush-box equipped cars...!
The autos were slooow... The manual is easily as quick as a 3.4 manual mk2. If Russ Carpenter worked his magic, it'll be q. a bit quicker! (Russ got over 1,000bhp from a 2.5 litre DV8 hemi-engine in his rail dragster). Lovely cars.
(I won't mention the 'sympathetic modern upgrade of stainless ummm.. 'wire' wheels'. They look like they belong on a late '70's VW based 'Bugatti' kit-car abomination. Sorry, but No. Just No...).
IAM a Mark two nut but I cannot deny this is a lovely car just the grill never really appealed to me with that big fingered rip
Test drove one many years ago, I was quite young at the time. It drove like a utter bag of nails and I felt physically worn-out!. But this particular example is phenomenal, just shows what their potential can really be.. Well done to the owner, its beautiful example! 👌
Quite cute but smells of British/Jag styling.
And the shifter looks to be far too close to the drivers left thigh.
That is because it is a 1960s British Jaguar except for the engine. What do expect it to be? The gear change is in exactly the the right position, in the middle front of the car. The use of a wide angle lens makes the gear change look closer than it really is. Also look at the width of those front seats.
OK! I only disliked you before, now I Hate you🤬
I’m looking at buying one here in Australia, in a maroon colour, in an auto. Would love to know what you fellows did mechanically, and electrically, to her.
Sounds amazing, and great POV.
Hi Mr Eldridge I am in Queensland and about finished a full auto rebuild with near concourse paint, engine and full retrim from Aldridge trimmers UK. Happy to discuss if you are still interested, Ben (from QLD). 1967 Auto Daimler V8 250 (Maroon colour exterior)

Dear sir.
As you can see, I have changed my profile name.
I must apologise for not getting back to you. Your message, for some reason, never came up.
At the time, I was looking for a Daimler, but unfortunately, all things have been put on hold.
Even now.
Thankfully that will change very soon, and I will be in the market for one.
I hope you were able to find a buyer for your Daimler.
They are an incredibly beautiful, and very under-rated car.
European cars from the late 60s look like they where made during the 40s. American cars changed much quicker back in the day.
Ha Ha Ha.
Just before this vid started they showed an ad for the souless shite car range of a car manufacturer today.
Fool, you are driving too fast for English country roads.
