Great presentation done very professionally and you included all kinds of extras which added much value for the viewers. Quick question is does it have built-in floatation of any kind? Our Pelican Mustang 100X does not, without some kind of inflatable bladders it definitely will sink if swamped. That’s not good.

I've been researching what kinda kayak to buy this summer and came across your video. Thank you for sharing your experience with it.

I would just unscrew that rod holder and relocate it closer. I am debating on getting this kayak for the price. Great video!

i luv this kayak .. had it for one summer so far and been out on a few dozen day trips lasting sometimes 14 hrs... seat is exceptionally comfy... maxim is solid and stable but does not track that great.. I have managed to run a few c1 rapids and even got through a small c2 while rushing to my exit point ..... took some water but survived .... i prefer to portage or line maxim whenever possible but next summer i plan to experiment and hope that the Pelican skirt I just bought will keep some of the rapid water out of my cock pit... live and learn... I am however seriously thinking of upgrading to or adding a crossover ( dagger or jackson ) to my kayak collection which is currently a single kayak.. maxim rocks for smooth water and for recreational fishing and could get you to a night spot for camping with plenty of equipment... i use a similar set up he does for carrying it around ... be careful.... i have put plenty of minor scratches on my car

Thanks for the note. Yeah, I am looking forward to a little warmer weather to get out. The camping think would be sweet.

I have the same kayak and that rod holder on the front I’m having a hard time finding a way to lock it in so it doesn’t come out when you grab you’re rod and I’m just wondering if someone can help me by telling me what to use to lock it

I used a GoPro Max which is a 360 degree camera. The software edits out the selfie stick.

Have you tried it on small rivers? Would it be suitable for an overnight small river trip?

It is a good question. I was able to bring my hiking backpack on the kayak at this lake with enough gear to overnight. I am probably compromising some stability at that point. Maybe when it is warmer I will try small rivers.

It would depend on the type of river... slow or fast current, depth of river, rapids, shoals, etc.
