I have the same kayak and i would say this kayak is fantastic and i would recommend this kayak for those who wants to get a stable kayak..i already use mine in a big waves it's actually stable and didn't tip me over and i love it so much ..this sentinel 100x is my first kayak, and when i bought my second kayak which is sit in kayak i decided to sell the second one..i would stick with this kayak it's good for fishing or just strolling ❤❤
I have 2 expensive Kayaks that are heavy and paddle like a barge then I have this little 10ft Pelican that weighs 35lbs. I use it to fish shallow rocky rivers where I must drag it 40-50yards to the water and then drag it over rocks to get to other sections. It paddles like a paddle board, it takes much less effort than the big heavy Kayaks. Every Kayak has a use it's just that some people don't see the use or they purchased one for the wrong reason.
I have the mountain 100X angler today did very well with choppy water. A lot of water did get inside of it, but it drained out because of the little hose that they added to it. That way you’re not soaking in water did go under, but always came right up very worth it, and caught a anchor on some fishing line, about a 30 pound anchor pulled it up just fine what a day
I bought mine in 2022 at a local Canadian Tire store in Canada. At that time it was on sale for $599, but that store no longer stocks that particular kayak.
Just bought the same one, and took it out for the first time. I'm new to kayaking. I have a question. Is it normal to get some water inside the kayak. Not on top, but actually inside. Cause I had to dump some water out after I got done.
I have 2 of this and both get water inside I took it to the glof of mexico and a wave flip me over and the kayak was about 80 pounds heavy with all the water in it, fliping it back up was mission impossible, over all it handle the waves decently
I wish that pelican would make more 12ft kayaks like this. 9ft just feels like a toy out on the lake, especially if you're over 6ft and 200 lbs. It's a shame that they discontinued the catch 120. These should be around 350, not 500 dollars. 😂
I bought a pelican mist and I had to get outriggers for it because it was so easy to tip over. I bought it on sale last year from REI and should have returned it but got the outriggers. The reviews that I see mutually be paid by Pelican. Not impressed with them.
I am not familiar with the Pelican Mist model. That sounds pretty bad if you had to add outriggers. I’m very happy with my purchase of the Pelican Sentinal 100 and find it to be a very stable boat, even in rough water.
Thank you for the review Wayne! We're glad you're enjoying yourself. Happy fishing!
Thanks for watching. Yes, it's been a wonderful kayak so far.

Yes, I agree… for the money this Pelican Sentinel 100X is a very capable little boat.

Well said. There are so many sizes/styles of kayaks available these days. Always good to do a bit of research before committing to a particular boat.

Great review
Thanks!
Thank you for creating this video ,I'm looking to purchase, and this helped ❤.
Glad it was helpful.
I’ve been considering this kayak, where did you purchase yours? It’s much more expensive on Amazon so I’d love to find it at the price you paid!

I saw one today at fleet dark that exact color for $430
Just got one last week and this video is spot on !!! 🙌🤘🤘😊
Thanks!

You mean water inside the hull? No, I’ve never had that issue. Any chance the drain plug at the stern is loose or missing?
@@TheOneCanoe I will have to check. Possibly, thank you

I saw the exact same model in my big box store for $370.
Wow, great price for this kayak!
Just paid $300 for mine at Academy Sports
Got one from REI for $239 today.
@@TheOneCanoeI got it for Christmas for $200!
Dang bought mine today and the seat isn’t the best
Ya, mine has the bad seat. I use a small piece of plywood to ‘stiffen’ the back rest. One of these days I think I’ll just replace the whole seat.
I add a cozy creek camp chair to my set

Yes, I agree, a 12 ft. Model would be awesome.
