- In late 2012, Jody Ruth was stood on the edge of a cliff, looking to end his life. Luckily, he came back, but many others don't. Jody found solace in writing, and wrote a hard-hitting blog called 'Demons' about what took him to the edge of the cliff, and what happened whilst he was there.
This film follows Jody a year on from this blog, in an attempt to understand what it takes to end up on a cliff edge, but more so, what it takes to come home safe. The post that inspired the film and the recent follow up, appear below:

The repsonse to our film has been more than I ever dreamed of...
You moved me to tears, especially remembering Miles, partner of my friend Lucy - he hanged himself and it's so heartbreaking to feel that hopelessness....but for each person who sees this and really buys into the idea that we are none of us really alone (even though in the depths of depression, can believe we are) then your candour has been so worth it....
Thank you Elaine! Indeed, that is the hope... :)
I'm glad you choose to continue your story, it wouldn't be the same without you x powerful film
Carry on telling your story Jode.. you got this far for this very reason.. we hit lows we hit highs.. if no one ever talks and denies the truth nothing can ever change.. nothing can ever get better.. x
WOW Jody - what a brave and very moving film for you to do. You will no doubt help so many others by doing this. What an inspiration you are and keep on fighting those demons x
Thanks for this lads. Appreciate your candour, Jody - I think more of us who've found a way through need to tell our stories like this. Strength and love to you from the antipodes
Thank you :)
Im watching this for like the 5th time since you first posted this on /r/depression, Tippers. thank you. Thanks a lot. This has changed my view on lots of things.
Wow, thank you! I'm glad you've been able to relate to it! Shame it got taken off reddit! :(
Superb. Simple, candid and direct.
Excellent work both of you xx
Brilliant work Tippers
Cheers Dude!! :) x
Very good Tippers, very touching and good to see a positive end.
I tried reading what you had done. But due to not being a very good reader and even more so with stuff that is long i could not read it. This however has made it so i can. I once to have been there before many a times. I have took over doses cut my wrists. I have tried in other ways to be i shall not say on here. This is a very good video and i am sure this will help out other people out there who are being tested to the max. Nice one to you and Tippers on making a real good video :)
Hey pal, thanks very much! I'm glad you liked the video... I'm touched to see it helping so many people. Jody Ruth :) x
Excellent piece Tippers / Jody, a hard message to get across in this day and age, but a story that is unfortunately becoming more and more common. I am a documentary film school graduate from Ireland, and there is a guy from my home town in Tuam, Ireland who is currently walking the whole of the UK trying to raise awareness for a suicide awareness charity called CONSOLE, they have recently opened their first premises in the UK recently. Please have a look at his page and maybe you might want to get in contact with him, he is a truly inspirational guy. Here is a link to his charity page. Please spread the word.
The world is a better place with you in it Jody. Peace, Phil.

Good times, cheers Philip! I will take a look!
This needs subtitles, i can't get half of the things that he is saying it it.
Hi Jesus, you could try headphones, or use the 'CC' option on the UA-cam video... Might not be perfect though!!
Hi mr tippers, what camera do you use?
Canon D60 with Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L Lens.
Tippers Pritchard cool I have a canon 5d and 24-70mm L so hopefully can make some nice vids with it.
I've used a 5D to shoot some footage at a wedding so you absolutely will! :)
