Wonder if the customer is going to try to get by with it running like that. If they do, you may get a head gasket job along with the converter when it comes back.
Hey man, I am a journeyman automotive mechanic up in Canada. I'm trying to fix an old Toyota propane forklift. I've watched all your videos and will be doing more testing today with that knowledge but this one has a weird issue that I don't see in your videos. It is a 4Y engine but old, no gauges. Model is 7FGU32. It dose not like to start, however It dose try to start and of you push the gas the exact right time it starts and once started it runs awesome, no issues. It has this tricky start condition Hot and Cold. What would you be checking first? Today I will remove air cleaner and see of it starts perfect on brake clean. I am sure it is fuel relates. Any advice would be much appreciated
No fuel injector on this old unit, just goes from regulator to an old school mixer with the diaphragm which I removed and made sure wasn't cracked and the valve inside moves freely
Nice to hear from a fellow Canadian. Based on what you said, I'd be looking for vacuum leak. More probably the fuel system relies on air valve vacuum to operate. A vacuum leak disappears when you open throttle so I would start there.
Hi Forklift Master I have low power as well on a Hyster 80 with LPG system. Engine is a GM 4.3. 8,500 hrs Low power, I cleaned and rebuilt the impco ca125 mixer and found bent parts inside the regulator. New regulator Uses a Vff30 fuel shutoff. Any ideas? It starts and idles reasonably well, hunts at idle. Hunting almost goes away when the idle mixture screw is screwed all the way in full rich. Right off idle, up to 2500rpm or so very boggy. Sometimes it will rev up all the way very strong other times it cant get out of its own way! Love the videos, trying to fix this old hyster beast.
Hi Forkliftgeek I have a Yale GDP25TE with a power problem, starts fine and revs no problem but sometimes when I put it in forward or reverse no drive or low power drive leave it idling for 5-10 minutes then I have full power any ideas? I did have the torque converter reconditioned last year as didn’t have power to drive over a stone! After that it was great but now 1 yr on this.I have changed fuel filter,in-line fuel filter,ATF fluid & filer still the same
@@airwalker5404 charge pump or transmission pump creates transmission oil flow. You need a transmission pressure guage. This is only one possibility though.
If you are referring to the forward or reverse solenoids, then I would say unlikely to be the cause. You said if you leave it idling for 5 to 10 mins it would drive.

Great video

This video although a caterpillar would have somewhat of a similar system.
Thanks so much! Will keep you posted, heading out there this afternoon

Bro have you tried to repair a Nissan Qp02 electric forklift with steering issue?

Sounds like a loss of pressure from the charge pump to me.
Thanks for that @forkliftgeek10 ,what does the charge pump do? And where is it and how do I test it?

@@forkliftgeek10 thanks for that,I’ll look into it, I also wondered if it was anything to do with the drive solenoid?

This will come back to bite them soon.
It will likely cost more in lost production when it goes bang than it would to fix it now.
