She is very outstanding teacher I've ever seen I live in tajikistan and still learning more in conversations but your awesome and amazing keep it up teacher you made me inspired to learn conversation in Russian
Fantastic video, This is probably one of the best I've seen here on YT. No distracting music or weird transitions. No extra talking or explanation, just some straight forward Russian phrases at a perfect pace for new learners. Thank you!
This an excellent beginner tutorial. One suggestion to make it better..... in between the Russian phrase and the final English translation, the Russian should be translated literally. For example:- Большое спасибо literally means "big thanks", the ideal English translation you have listed is "Thank you very much". As a beginner it would help A LOT to see the literal translation first, then the ideal English translation. It would help in vocabulary building, and in understanding the word order of Russian phrases.
Actually I agree with a literal translation. Bcs otherwise the beginner does not learn what the actual words mean. For example to say “are you thirsty” in Russian really means in literal translation “do you want to drink”. There is a totally different word for “thirsty”. A beginner will get totally confused. Then give an example of the use of the word thirsty like translate “he looks thirsty”. @@yehuditvashdi-grunblatt6914
My favorite phrase from the video is "я не могу поверить!" This video is so wonderful! Kristina's learning materials are always so amazing. I hardly believe I've found such good quality study videos. Make sure you subscribe to her weekly emails because receiving regularly useful videos do help a lot with keeping motivated in learning the Russian language. Thanks a million Kristina!
Yes, this video was useful for me, even though I regard myself as B1-B2. I like that it merely recites each message, first slowly and then normally. I have seen annoying videos from others, that waste my time over-explaining sentences in English, including cracking jokes. At first I accepted it, but soon I avoided such videos. Thank you for doing this.
Would be nice if you could include the English translation in the audio as well. I listen to this while working and driving so can't look at the screen the whole time. Great content!
Most of the teachers speak very fast u r teaching slowly it is very good brilliant my sweetheart teacher if speak fast noone can understand it is very good
Just finished maxxing my cyrillic on duo and im so glad i did! Actually understanding what letters are suppose dot sound like makes russian soooo much easier!
I've chosen one video to watch everyday for the next 6mos or until I understand 90-100 percent of this video. Out of all of UA-cam I choose you! Haha I really do enjoy your content words really can't express my gratitude for you sharing your knowledge with us. Ochen spasibo!!
Wow Misty, thank you! I´m so happy to hear that you found this lesson worth watching over and over again. These two videos with phrases are also good and may be useful to you later! ua-cam.com/video/73U-OqpaU48/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/8QoaTQaBdLw/v-deo.html
Really helpful! Thank you. I’m in month 10 of Russian language acquisition and these short, clearly spoken and repeated sentences are PERFECT to complement my learning. Спасибо
She is the undisputed best teacher. Her emails remember me and makes easier to study regularly. Her content is supreme and her english expression ability is so great ! I do believe in her russian method 10/10 SPASIBOCHKIIII
Your enunciation is so good and it's easy to hear how to correctly pronounce the Russian words. I can even listen to this while I'm doing chores at home!
As a beginner and older learner { 55 } I find this extremely helpful...Iv'e learned the Cyrillic script and I know a lot of words { Names of objects } but don't know verbs etc...Oh, and giving us the gender is terrific...Thanks and greetings from England 👍🏻🙏🏻🙋🏻♂
I really like the 3 speeds of speaking. It teaches you the correct sound of each letter or syllable and then how it is spoken at normal speed. It is helping me a lot with pronunciation and understanding.
Dear Kristina, your design of your class is best I have ever seen so far. After watching your videos, I get supervised that how fast I am learning with you! God bless you🤗
Thank you so much for these videos! I plan to visit Russia for the first time next summer and am beginning to prepare for my trip by re-learning enough Russian to be able to ask basic questions and carry on a very simple conversation in it. I studied Russian in school over 50 years ago in former Yugoslavia, but after half a century of living in the English-speaking world, to refresh my memory, I need to start almost from the beginning. Your videos are a GREAT instructional resource and I'll be using them a lot over the next 8 months! 🙂
I took my last college Russian class the year the WWW was rolled out (1994). All we had were books and pencils. Like monks in a monastery. Did not learn much. I signed up for your "News in Slow Russian". It is a great training tool, and totally worth it. Please keep the content coming. Thanks!
Oh, it´s so much easier now to learn a foreign language with all these great resources available online. Glad to hear you´re enjoying News in Slow Russian!
I'm going to try learning a language without study the grammar first, to see how I can learn better. I chose russian because I saw this video of an astronaut saying she had to learn it to become one and since going to the space is my most recent dream (and she sounded very cool) here I am! 😊💕 I don't know if I'm going to continue with this or not, but if I do I will tell y'all how it went in a few months
I hope you make more videos like this one! Saying them 3 times at different speeds in the video truly aids understanding. The cheat sheet is most welcome! My favorite phrase is one I guess I didn't fully understand how to say in Russian. I thought the phrase "Think about it" was simply Подумай об этом. So I'm glad to see a list of phrases that show how to say these short and useful phrases correctly.
There are lots of channels teaching Russian but you are the best I can read Russian signage but can't pronounce them and spoken Russian is fast. I like your lesson very detailed and clear for students like who speaks English as second language and soon Russian will my third. Thank you very much.
THANKS ! You've shared the first lesson that I use as a rookie, it's AWESOME !! Only useful things that are FUNDAMENTALS to LEARN everything else !! so grateful
I appreciate that your videos are short because they load up faster. Also your choice of useful phrases is the best I’ve seen yet. In addition, the repetition in three different speeds is very helpful for beginners seeking a bit more challenge. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much for this. I love it! I'm glad you DID NOT add the written figured pronunciation. This way, you give the learners the opportunity to review and practice the alphabet. The 3 repetitions are great for memorizin. Great job. Cnaciba.
Excellent video. Subscribed. Yes, yes, yes, please make many more videos such as this one. I suggest focusing on different situations for each video: one friend introduces a third person to a friend (and how introduced person responds); café and restaurant ordering; asking and receiving directions; the weather; Maybe a Russian talking to a Russian-speaking foreigner about greatness of Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, and well, Tolstoy, though not as great, right? Chekhov?; brief history of Moscow; brief history of St. Petersburg; only a few topics I'd like to learn slowly to speak about. Thanks.
Very good effort as far as pronunciation is concerned but 3 suggestions. Number 1. Write the russian in English alphabets like this. "Paidum samnoi" 2. Your words are difficult. Dictionary says "Idti samnoi" 3. Please give only simple verbs and nouns. Conjugation we will learn when we go and speak and listen to russian in Russia. Thanks, I appreciate your effort.👍

Amazing
Thank you very much.
I like this video a lot.
I want to listen while I work and drive, etc.
Therefore it would be helpful if the English text was spoken.
You are the best Russian teacher I have found on UA-cam. I plan on listening to all of your videos.
Thank you! 😃
I agres with you! She is the Best ever.

For both of us linguists and/or analytical you may be right, but for most people it would make the process a bit clumsy...
