- Steve Hartman, who showcases the best of America each week in CBS News' award-winning series "On the Road," is teaching a weeklong virtual class on kindness and community on the CBS Evening News Facebook page. He dedicated the 30-minute course on Wednesday, March 25 to this attribute: friendship.
I’m a 62 year old man who has loved the Friday news to see your stories. I love your daughter and hope she follows in your footsteps. After this pandemic is over I’d love to see you and your daughter doing stories together. Every time
I see her it makes me miss my grandchildren even more!
Your lessons are not just for children. We can all learn something. Thank you.
It's TRUE. I do not fit into the "child" category in any way shape or form, and yet for many years my passion for Steve Hartman's On the Road videos are a daily occurrence. They are not restricted by the persons age, sex, colour or religion. Each one of us are capable of taking life lessons from many of his wonderful videos

Thank you for posting! We don't do facebook at our house so we thought we wouldn't get to listen to these kindness classes. We really admire Steve Hartman and his stories. Your post allows us to enjoy more of his wonderful, kind character.

During the pandemic my oldest sister took to writing thank you notes to people she comes into contact with regularly. The stocker at the grocery store is the one who stands out the most. He talks to her every time she comes in and they make sure she gets one of the power shopping carts and that it’s powered up. I have made the word “gratitude” my watch word, not just during the pandemic but all the time. Merrill’s suggestion about listening is a good one. But I think greeting them and honestly showing appreciation for their service goes a long way as well. She is such a cute little girl! Merrill thank you for all the hard work you do making the posters and the pictures. George thank you for the work you do and the contributions to the shows. You both do such work. Thanks for adding your kiddos to the program Steve.

Good morning! It is a beautiful day here in W Pa..sunny and mild temps..a day to work in my yard getting ready for the flowers to bloom and hopefully I will be able to plant my garden this year (Lord willing) I pray all have a beautiful and blessed day in the Lord..be thankful to Him in all things..speak praises and thanks to Him for everything, whether good or not so good, because He is merciful and He knows what He is doing! Amen and amen! We are merely humans and we cannot see into the future as He can and know what may not be so good now, will bring about a huge change for GOOD! Love your neighbor and help all in need! Merrill is a very bright and intelligent girl. It's very refreshing to hear the youth speaking so elegant. Many adults with no speech impediment can't articulate as well.💜😀
My counselor is out of state - some kind of problem has called her and her return is unknown. I am 71 now - and with some emotional issues I didn't want to grow old and crabby and hate the world so much. So I watch these stories - my face is always wet after - not sad tears but kind tears - caring tears - sweet tears that help lift my spirit so thank you for doing these stories - and illustrating how we can all be kinder and more caring.
Kudos Steve Hartman, your classes are just not for kids but most importantly it is a must for us adults.......

SPENCER ROCKS!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I KNOW how Spencer and Josh feel/felt. I am on my SECOND BOUT of CANCER. I BEAT stage 4 Cancer back in 1999. I had to have a radical hysterectomy. My 2 kids were YOUNG, 12 & 7 at the time. My husband has just left me for a girl HALF MY AGE. ( I was 35, she was 18) So my kids NEEDED ME. I WANTED GRANCHILDREN. I am STILL WAITING to be a grandmother, kids are now 37 & 32. I WILL FIGHT until I get my wishes! 😊
