    ✅ Ingredients
    • pork - 1,1 lb | 500 g
    • yellow onion - 7 oz | 200 g
    • carrot - 7 oz | 200 g
    • garlic - 3 cloves
    • chopped tomatoes - 14 oz | 400 g
    • tomato paste - 3 tbsp
    • dijon mustard - 1 tbsp
    • broth or water - 1,1 qt | 1L
    • cooking oil - 1,5 tsp
    • sugar - 1 tsp
    • sweet paprika - 1,5 tsp
    • ground black pepper - to taste
    • red chili flakes - to taste
    • salt - to taste
    To soak beans:
    • navy beans - 1 lb | 450 g
    • water - 2,2 qt | 2L
    • salt - 1 tbsp
    ✅ You will need
    - iron pot
    - stockpot
    - cutting board
    📙 Preparation
    1. Rinse the beans in cold water, place them into a stockpot, pour in 2 liters of cold water. Bring to a boil, add 1 tbsp of salt, cook for 3 minutes over medium heat, then turn off the heat, cover with a lid and leave for 1 hour.
    2. Rinse the cooked beans in cold water, drain the water and place them in a colander.
    3. Chop up the onions, carrots and garlic, cut the pork into 2-inch pieces.
    4. Heat the oil in the pot, fry the pork over high heat for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
    5. Add the onions into the pot, fry over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until golden.
    6. Add the carrots and cook for 3 more minutes over medium heat.
    7. Then add the garlic, mustard, spices, salt, sugar, tomato paste and fry for another 1-2 minutes over medium heat.
    8. Add the chopped tomatoes, beans, broth or water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to minimum, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
    9. Add salt, soy sauce and worcestershire sauce to taste, stir and leave for 20 minutes.
    10. Serve pork and beans stew hot with a side of cornbread, biscuits, hot dog bun, garlic bread or any fresh bread or your favorite side dish.
    ❗️Advices:
    1. You can use great northern beans, pinto beans, or cannellini beans.
    2. If you prefer your sauce thick, use only 800 ml of water or broth.
    3. You can use beef, lamb or chicken instead of pork.
    4. You can replace water with meat, chicken or vegetable broth.
    5. You can add bacon and fry with onion, the taste of stew will be richer.
    6. You can replace chopped tomatoes with fresh ones.
    7. Use spices to taste.
    8. A bit of soy sauce and/or worcestershire sauce will give the stew a more rich taste.
