Fence is looking Good - Go Freddy Go Steel blades seem to be the most popular brush cutter heads in Thailand I have never been a a fan of spools for line trimming work. I do a lot of line trimming work, myself and a lot of other contractors use the "Tanaka" style aluminium disk with pre cut lengths of cord (quality 3mm nylon cord). Simple reliable and effective. I have not seen a lot of then in stores in Thailand, there is a lot of the cheep pressed and riveted wavy steel ones that accept the pre cut nylon. Good quality commercial grad brush cutters are so cheep in Thailand app half the price of the same machine in Australia, probably due to the volume of rice farming etc. Keep up the good work thanks for the video.👍
Thanks, Someone suggested, and I am now trying the plastic-coated braided wire (cable) now. SO far seems to be ok. If I have too I will use the metal blades but have concerns about hitting them on concrete.
Hello Kenny, I dropped one in the water also and unfortunately never worked again. I have a much larger pond than you so I have lights front, back and sides, it’s amazing how much the fish just like to hang out underneath the lights. Fence/wall looks great I’ll start mine when I return. Take care
Yes, I saw your pond in the photo you sent. I wanted a much bigger one, but Sompit didn't want to give up any more rice field. My light is rated for outdoors and weatherproof but apparently that does not mean waterproof. Thanks for inspiring me to get that little project done!
The fence is looking great. I am curious as to what type of welder you're using. I will be coming back to Surin province (Sikhoraphum district) on the 21st of August for a couple of months. Currently, we use a brush cutter on wheels to cut our grass. These have a metal blade, like a circular saw but on its side. Hence, there is no plastic cord to bother with. I just push it along like a lawn mower. It is not suitable near concrete walls.
Welder is a Zinsano gasless wire feed. I use the .8mm wire. That blue hammer drill is also a Zinsano. So far pretty pleased with their products. Those metal blades scare me. Hit something hard, I would think it's going to be a pretty violent reaction.
Hey Glen, Mine came with a blade but seemed dangerous because, as you mentioned, I was worried about hitting the concrete fence. Someone had suggested plastic coated cable line, so ordered off Lazada. I tried that last night, and it works very well.
Like others have said, forget the silly bits of string, put a metal blade on. Unless you are only doing a small bit of lawn those line trimmer cords are virtually useless on scrub.
Yes, I have moved on to trying the coated cable lines with a simple head design. So far, I'm pleased. I need to trim along the concrete wall so will only resort to the blade if all else fails.
We got 3-4 quotes ranging from B170k to B250k. Final cost would come in at B64k for the panels including paint, welding supplies, mounting bolts, etc. I'm guessing around 80 hours labor to cut, weld, paint, and install.
Can I suggest you change over to a metal disc on your brush cutter. I use a disc with two blades. Swedish steel blades are the best I can get here in Sisaket. Safe, long wearing and can be sharpened. I gave up on the silly strings years ago.
@@ParadiseNThailand forget the plastic stuff. string and blades. Go buy a metal blade and give it a try. Worst case it will cost you 200baht. But on the plus side the machine will run for a tank full of fuel without needing to play with the cutting head. You will learn to windrow grass as you cut it which makes cleanup easier
I have a spare trimmer head that is used by commercial gardening groups. It sits nice and flush to the ground too.I will bring it with me towards the end of October (if you can wait until then). I cant post a link but you can google 'Renegade industrial line trimmer head-RIHD-LTH'. They may be available in Thailand?
Yes, I considered that also. Looked at a couple electric ones for right around the house but really don't have a viable place to store one. I have not dropped that as an option yet.
House build done- now the wonderful part of maintaining the house build. It just never ends. Once again, fencing looks outstanding.
Thanks Greg. Still a lot of small projects to get done, but the build is over!
Good job on the fence Freddy 😊.
Great build, now time to relax and watch other tear their hair out.
Completely done and mess cleaned up today! Thanks Paul
Greetings

Looking good Freddy the fence maker 😊
Thanks Peter
It may be just on video but it's amazing how good the view is through the fence.
No, it is almost invisible when your eyes focus on the view. Turned out better than I had hoped.
A mans work is never done!...good that's its not the hot n dry season....looking forward to the finished product!
Yes, I was pushing to get while the days are overcast and cool. Behind me now!
thanks for creating and sharing
Thank you DB
Great work
Thanks Christopher
Looks great
Thanks Dave
The grass is coming along nicely
I do not have the patience to transplant all that grass. Sompit doesn't seem to mind it. Thanks for watching.
Nice feeling having it done I spose. Looks good. Thanks for the video.
Yes, it does. Feels completed now. Thanks Steven

Yes they scared me as well
Yes, I will figure out something a little safer.
Hi Kenny I changed the head for a blade. No more line and easy to use. Not real good if your trimming against your fence though.
Hey Glen,
Mine came with a blade but seemed dangerous because, as you mentioned, I was worried about hitting the concrete fence. Someone had suggested plastic coated cable line, so ordered off Lazada. I tried that last night, and it works very well.
Also not good for the trees in the garden if you slip .

Hi Kenny, the fence is looking amazing well done, meant to ask before what is the overall length of your wall mate ?
Roughly 44m x 33m, so 154ish
Like others have said, forget the silly bits of string, put a metal blade on. Unless you are only doing a small bit of lawn those line trimmer cords are virtually useless on scrub.

I would be curious as to how much difference it ended up being in the end verses the quote you had originally. Ball park guess. Thanks

I'm trying the plastic-coated cables now. Seem ok so far. I was worried about hitting concrete with the metal blades, so decided to try these.

I'll do that, Thanks Daryl. I bought the best one they had a global House, but the selection is minimal.
You know they sell lawn mowers in Thailand.
Yes, I considered that also. Looked at a couple electric ones for right around the house but really don't have a viable place to store one. I have not dropped that as an option yet.
Change string to metal blade
It came with metal blade, but I am concerned about hitting concrete and the destruction it will likely cause to concrete and trimmer.
hi guys
