It's about 200-300 kgs of weight redistributed evenly all over so better balance of heavier weapons can he done

Reduction in weight will help in carrying weapons and maneuverability not in fuel because fuel carrying cspacity is limited by space not by weight.

@@ayushraj627 it's limited by both. Currently Tejas, when carrying all three drop tanks, can only carry another 800kg of weapons on the two remaining mid wing hard points. As a result, they don't carry the centre 800kg drop tank when carrying the two 1.2 ton drop tanks. Now they can carry 2 bombs AND all three drop tanks - that's a deep strike configuration.

Electric Actuators are digitally controlled by software of the plane.
Fly by wire system has actuators as an integral part of the system itself.
So when india developed its fly by wire, it means integrating the sidtware with the hardware part too.
But this system uses electronics too, which is where we lag.
I think the actuator motors are indian but the electronics part is imported.
Everything good expact HUD .. why they did not installed rafale like HUD ..
Once a designe fails or compromised it is better to discard it and Rebuilt a new design from scratch implementing all new requirements after wide consultations with end users.

Tejas Mk1 alywas looked a unfinished product to me, even though it was capable in all its specs...somehow the finishing was not refined. This one looks much more refined...I won't call this cutting edge though, like we see the latest aircrafts from other countries....I am completely talking from the look and finish perspective, which may not be directly proportional to the specs and performance, but it's definitely a function of the engineering behind it. A good piece of engineering is also a good piece of art. But, overall not bad for our first indigenous warplane. AMCA would definitely be much more sophisticated.

The LCA Tejas might be a very bad platform no doubt. But when the Chinese and the Pakistanis are talking more about it than about capable platforms in India's arsenal like the Su30MKIs and the Rafales, then it becomes more interesting.
They know that the LCA theoretically can't stand a chance against the F16s of Pakistan or the fifth gen jets or Su27 spinoffs of China. But apart from these, The LCA is better than the rest of the jets they have in their respective arsenal. And that's causing a heartburn for them. Thus giving rise to all these negative publicity.
The Chinese Fifth Gen jets, Sukhoi spinoffs and even their J10s are heavier and would find themselves at a theoretical disadvantage when pitched against the lighter LCA Tejas at a high altitude warfare over the Himalayas. And the noodles know about this.
