- Today I joined a tournament for a game I dont play competitively at all and well lets just say Smash can be a cruel beast. This is a just a warm up run though! I still really want to come back to super smash brothers ultimate and see if I can't get some wins with hero in a real online tournament setting!

Also fully charged lightning attack hits people on the ledge and fully charged fireball deals like 30% so no real need to only use them for kills

also best hero tip for having fun: play by top decking the down B (just mash down B dont even read and whatever comes out comes out)

It was worth seeing Doto up against some sweaty nerd Smash Bros. players just for the glorious specimen that was RIPandTEAR. What an absolute hero.
You should try checking out really big tournaments like coinbox. Also, your hero is decent for a beginner, but something I think you should learn how to do is "landing Nair". It's basically when you jump, and while your character is landing you press the A button with no stick movements. It leads to good combos when your opponent is at a low percent so it's quite good.
Edit: In this game, it's also good to learn about matchups. I saw some comments saying "just use fully charged neutral B or side B" and while those are powerful moves, they're slow to charge, and a player who knows how to play against a hero could just reflect the neutral B or shield the side B and grab you.
Edit Edit: It's also good to look up how each of Hero's spells works and the probability of getting them. For example, it'd be better to fish for Oomph, a move that cost little MP and boost your sword attacks and throws for 12 seconds, than fishing for Hatchet man, basically a falcon punch that SHREDS your MP.
As a smash player myself I have but two words of advice:
1: learn how to grab
2: Hocus Pocus is the lord of RNG in this game (there’s a chance it turns you invincible and/or invisible. It’s literally the only reason Hero is banned in tournament.)

Loved this video! And you can tell that you’re experienced at fighting games. From bait and punishment to stage control. It comes naturally to you. With a little practice you’ll become skilled in no time. Maybe a collab with someone like poppt1 who could teach you a thing or two before entering another tournament would be incredible content!

Yo Doto, let me talk to you real quick. The best way I got better at Super Smash Bros. Melee was going to training mode against three bots on the hardest difficulty that you can put them on. Put the bots on a team against you and go until you’re able to kill all of them. Then take it to a 1v3 match and fight them until you are able to win. (P.s. the bots on Melee were stupidly difficult on the hardest difficulty. Don’t know how the bots are on here.)
