Bro, here’s some advice, buy the health upgrade capsules from the shop and increase your health. It’s insanity to attempt to beat this with no upgrades.
it's actually not that hard if you invest some time into guarding in the middle of your charged attacks.
During my first playthrough I manage to reach kid buu without any items( I didn't know how it worked) on hard and was stopped there
Years later i tried again and couldn't get pass fp Frieza this game is brutal
My first playthrough i did good up to this point where it was absolutely impossible that I would win till I got more health and attack power

Doto, there's a bunch of tech you're missing out on. Buy a health capsule it'll help, and if you don't want that there's a trick to teleporting and i'm not sure if you notice it. if you press back and guard you teleport behind him without hitting him away. so you can combo or retreat when you do. learning about basic attack canceling also helps.
I was gonna comment this as well there a plenty of health items and green capsules he can obtain too bad doto wont see it and will make it 10 times harder for himself lmao

Dude, you should get to know about "canceling". It adds a WHOLE new layer to how deep this game can be. It is one of the most competitive anime fighting games out there when you get to play it knowing all it has to offer.
Charge up attack, press block, BOOM! Anything is a combo extender now!
There's so much tech in IW that most players don't even know about. It's a shame it was made on a low budget and was released so late in the PS2's lifetime.

Doto just so you know I believe in those free run modes like the leave planet namek section you can charge your ki using square instead of relying on the stamina pods

Putting in the Green Forest music for escaping Namek was "chef's kiss" perfect
There's a shop in the game that allows you to buy moves and items that will help you upgrade your character so you aren't just getting your ass kicked by 9 healthbar bosses, as well as not being stuck to just what the mission sticks you with move wise.
The skills you get for the story fights are the mandatory ones if you want more you have to use your money to buy them will make a big difference as super saiyan you only get to use that for certain fights unless you buy it
You can buy a skill that goes in the green spot of the skills that gives you more healt, always keep that because the more you upgrade it the more healt you get!
I don't remember the name now but I belive it's called "warriors body" or something like that

DOTO GET THE FIGHTERS BODY CAPSULE IN THE SHOP IT INCREASES YOUR BASE HEALTH EVERY LEVEL OF UT YOU GET
Personal recommend from someone who 100% this game as a kid/preteen... Grind some money, go buy some extra skills for you to equip at the game's shop, mainly Health Upgrades & the Senzu Bean item, as well as upgrading your already existing skills whenever you can. Trust me when I say that beating this game without these upgrades, especially on harder difficulties, is next to impossible!

- Hold X and press the back directional button twice to charge.
- Press Triangle during Aura Burst to Stun Attack
- This might only be Shin Budokai but I think pressing X during Aura Burst is Power Guard? Only use it when you aren’t close to being out of ki or else you will tire out.
- For the love of god: Back and circle for secondary skills.

Doto bro if you hold the "defense" button and then you press the "ki charge" you do like a super guard that nulify any damage you would take (except grabs)
