When I first saw Harley in Batman The Animated Series I fell in love with her! Such a crazy/adorable personality and Arleen Sorkin as the voice of Harley was just perfect IMO :D Can't wait to see Margot Rabbie portray Harley on the big screen.

There was a way to modernize her outfit without making it look stupid, and the Assault on Arkham look was the way to go.
I can't accept the new 52 origin of Harley or her new look; maybe I'm just ridiculously stubborn. But I feel like if something is just amazing and perfect, you shouldn't "fix" it. (And by fix it, I mean mutilate it). I give it it's props in making it new and different, but I just don't accept it as reality. That's just me x)
Her personality is still the same her solo-series. She's just as ditsy, silly, and hilarious (if not more so) as the Pre-52 Harley. Check out her solo series, it kicks ass.

Although they are best friends their relationship develops into something beyond friendship which is obv through how they treat and care for each other and how I mean they even kissed. There have been so many instances that their relationship became apparent. So I doubt she'll have any relations with anyone in suicide squad since the movie world is trying to give her own independence. Since a woman's life doesn't revolve around romance or men.
Why do the majority of popular characters in comics have healing factors? Comics really don't have to be action packed month after month. Some people may consider it filler but I wouldn't mind seeing characters recuperating from a long battle more often. Going to the hospital may not always work for villains people with secret identities or mutants but maybe they could show more characters actually going to a character that has an ability to heal others. Healing factors just seem like an excuse for writers to have characters engage in danger as often as possible.

The whole 52 thing is actually great. DC has been sexist in the past and now they decided to change things up especially with all the female characters. And I love it. Especially when it comes to Harley, she knows what kind of an asshole Joker is and that the abuse wasn't okay. It's great to see her on her own or in groups. I'd love to see her kick Joker's ass in the Suicide Squad movie.

I realize dc stands for detective comics and they originally were seemingly all about him but still, why does absolutely everyone S batman’s D d so much? Think about it; if you had billions of dollars and were a genius, would you be more like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne? A metal suit with basically limitless capabilities trumps a black speedo with matching cape any day. I know he has crazy armors and tech too, yet in my opinion, considering the possibilities, Bruce Wayne lacks any sort of admirable or interesting imagination.

I have really enjoyed Harley in the New 52 she has truly evolved and become more then just the jokers personal lackey and meat shield. She has an on and off relationship with Deadshot (at least he doesn't beat her whenever he wants) Due to her not being in proximity with the joker she is slowly continuing to regain her sanity and since she been running with the suicide squad she is now technically become an Anti hero which is a good thing. And even more so Thanks to the New 52 Harley has actually gotten her own solo series (something pre new 52 Harley did not have last time I checked anyways) which so far is not only a top seller but has even been reviewed very well by most people. Either way I have come to really like Harley more and more and I am hoping Margot Robbie wears Harleys New 52 look I just hope they use the black and red hair and not the red and blue reminds me too much of cotton candy

I find your enthusiasm for the nature of such a toxic relationship disturbing. It's one thing to get the point, and it's quite another to think their relationship is anything but sick and abusive. That is important, and should never be left out of the story but it can't be healthy to get such vicarious joy out of seeing her being constantly abused. Idk though....DC has a way of making the worst possible parts of a character into the things someone should admire, or enjoy seeing. I think people who think Harley and Joker are cute, or funny are really missing the point. It's a real bummer to see young women loving her so much. Chill out, they are just comics, their relationship is interesting on many levels, that doesn't mean people want something like that in their own lives. If it did, I'd be A LOT more worried about Joker fans liking murderous psychopats or Punisher fans liking a violent vigilante, not to mention Deadpool fans, than a few people "not getting" what's wrong with an abusive relationship (which is, of course, very VERY wrong).
Although Paul Dini had a stroke of genius in creating Harley, I do think Amanda Conner has done equally as good a job in Harley's own series by setting up a huge raft of character development. Even with Siren's Harley was always mooning and fauning about her 'Puddin'. Although there's references, I'm glad that we've seen Harley run her own operations and twisted sense of justices and caring out of the New York base - well that and who doesn't like the fact one of her best friends is a giant Egg?
I enjoy her current team up with new best friend, Power Girl. I just got a hold of the comic, and it feels like Harley and Ivy all over again. And it's pretty fun. Not to mention nearly similar costumes that makes fanboys drool.

Old Harley was weak-willed, sad, pathetic, and spineless. She allowed herself to be the Joker's victim and continued crawling back to him to take his abuse. Since new Harley is accused of being a slut, newsflash: old Harley was more of a slut than new Harley. Old Harley fucked her way through school without doing any work, while new Harley actually worked very hard in school. New Harley became Joker's victim against her will, and had the intestinal fortitude to leave his abusive, sadomasochistic ass.
Yes, the writers of Suicide Squad ruined Harley, but Conner and Palmiotti greatly improved her by a lot in her new solo series. Her status as an anti-hero is better than when she was a villain. It was time to move Harley beyond the Joker's shadow.

I like many others was introduced to comics via the batman animated series as a child. I quickly feel for harley and her relationship with the joker. I feel that it is a important for the new 52 to have removed her ties from the joker as it was an abusive relationship and shouldn't be romanctizved. The joker did not love harley even if we saw him being affectionate he physically harmed her and had no concern for her life. I've also seen time and time again girls who wish to find "the joker to their Harley" and the new 52 highlights their relationship was extremely unhealthy.
Either way much love for Harley she will always be the queen of my heart.

The whole 52 thing is actually great. DC has been sexist in the past and now they decided to change things up especially with all the female characters. And I love it. Especially when it comes to Harley, she knows what kind of an asshole Joker is and that the abuse wasn't okay. It's great to see her on her own or in groups. I'd love to see her kick Joker's ass in the Suicide Squad movie.
Actually I think it will be the same as in Assault on Arkham just without the end part like for example we know the this is based in the new 52 and Assault on Arkham you know like the relationship with Deadshot and Harley Quinn is going to happen maybe a sex scene we don't know and the thing is I think Harley would not comeback to Joker and she would be left alone after she finds Poison Ivy and that's what is going to happen for the next Harley Quinn solo movie which is already confirm that is my theory.

Harley Quinn is a perfect example of how a writer who cares enough can completely change pop culture because her character is only about 10years old but she has been apart of almost every pre 52 story arc and New 52 story arc and she has a themed clothing line at hot topic

I realize dc stands for detective comics and they originally were seemingly all about him but still, why does absolutely everyone S batman’s D d so much? Think about it; if you had billions of dollars and were a genius, would you be more like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne? A metal suit with basically limitless capabilities trumps a black speedo with matching cape any day. I know he has crazy armors and tech too, yet in my opinion, considering the possibilities, Bruce Wayne lacks any sort of admirable or interesting imagination.
New 52 Joker sucks SOOOOOOO much, and I'm not enjoying Harley's backstory as much in this one either (though it's a much smaller complaint compared to the Joker).
Overall disappointment.

What comics should I begin with If i want to start from the beginning of Harley's story? I got the Hot in the city one but it feels wayyyy too late in the story. I don't want to be the type of girl who likes the main female character in a new movie just cause she's hot and stuff. I want to really know. xD That's why I've started watching Batman: The Animated Series. Quite good. Season 1 episode 4 lol.

I have really enjoyed Harley in the New 52 she has truly evolved and become more then just the jokers personal lackey and meat shield. She has an on and off relationship with Deadshot (at least he doesn't beat her whenever he wants) Due to her not being in proximity with the joker she is slowly continuing to regain her sanity and since she been running with the suicide squad she is now technically become an Anti hero which is a good thing. And even more so Thanks to the New 52 Harley has actually gotten her own solo series (something pre new 52 Harley did not have last time I checked anyways) which so far is not only a top seller but has even been reviewed very well by most people. Either way I have come to really like Harley more and more and I am hoping Margot Robbie wears Harleys New 52 look I just hope they use the black and red hair and not the red and blue reminds me too much of cotton candy
i think the cotton candy was some semblance of innocence and childishness or immaturity bc a lot of her character revolves around that childish, innocent little girl look- esp bc she was corrupted by joker and it wasnt like her own doing, she was trying to help joker and at heart didnt really want to hurt other people, just to be with him whicvh was really reckless and naive-- like a kid
I find your enthusiasm for the nature of such a toxic relationship disturbing. It's one thing to get the point, and it's quite another to think their relationship is anything but sick and abusive. That is important, and should never be left out of the story but it can't be healthy to get such vicarious joy out of seeing her being constantly abused. Idk though....DC has a way of making the worst possible parts of a character into the things someone should admire, or enjoy seeing. I think people who think Harley and Joker are cute, or funny are really missing the point. It's a real bummer to see young women loving her so much. I hope the Suicide Squad film doesn't make things worse by not acknowledging her tragedy. That would be a shame. And that would be some real DC shit. Also, DC superheroes are hot garbage. All of them. Especially the rich psychopath and the alien. Fuck those guys lol

Chill out, they are just comics, their relationship is interesting on many levels, that doesn't mean people want something like that in their own lives. If it did, I'd be A LOT more worried about Joker fans liking murderous psychopats or Punisher fans liking a violent vigilante, not to mention Deadpool fans, than a few people "not getting" what's wrong with an abusive relationship (which is, of course, very VERY wrong).
I think falling out with the joke was enviable (considering joker like satan in a way) and make her work in the suicide squad as antihero.

Although Paul Dini had a stroke of genius in creating Harley, I do think Amanda Conner has done equally as good a job in Harley's own series by setting up a huge raft of character development. Even with Siren's Harley was always mooning and fauning about her 'Puddin'. Although there's references, I'm glad that we've seen Harley run her own operations and twisted sense of justices and caring out of the New York base - well that and who doesn't like the fact one of her best friends is a giant Egg?
I enjoy her current team up with new best friend, Power Girl. I just got a hold of the comic, and it feels like Harley and Ivy all over again. And it's pretty fun. Not to mention nearly similar costumes that makes fanboys drool.

I think the authors messed up the joker and Harley relationship I will be better if they just made a psychopath relationship if they were vulnerable from each other and stay together rather than get into an abusive relationship I think They ruined it.
