That's a good find all day long at that price tag. Not sure how it is up north, but here in Virginia, they are a real Pain trying to get titles for cars that left abandoned or sold without one. Just picked up a '72 standard beetle that needs pans and channels but everything else is there and not a tear in the headliner. Now waiting for the state to give me a title for it. Auction purchase without a title but way to good to part out and it even has a body tag, key and had it running in 30 mins after sitting for 11 years. Can't wait to see some progress on the '62. Thanks for sharing
I think you might pull that body and put new floor pans on what's left of the frame Jason. That original turqouise is so gorgeous. Thanks for making my afternoon great!
I really enjoy your videos. I've never had a VW Bug or VW, but find them fascinating. I recognize Glastonbury I think, my older brother used to live on Heather Glen Road for a long time, beautiful , historic town. I am amazed what you have to do sometimes to clean out these cars you find. Your son Josh is a good helper, and a good boy. Thanks for all the videos you share!
Congratulations on your find...a diamond in the rough! What a great little treasure hunt among all that stuff in the back! I'm excited to see how this project progresses! Best wishes for your continued success.
Quite a nice 62 after all the junk & parts been cleaned out from inside.. Quite a few bikes knocking around that property Jason, Might been some early Bmx'es hidden still.. And thanks for showing me what the Adirondacks looks like too.. Looks awesome place :)
Great save! I unfortunately have been out of the aircooled VW game since the mid 90's, so naturally there is a lot of sticker shock I experience. With any older car! In 1991, I sold a '70 sedan with perfect floor pans, aftermarket fake button tuck door panels, one piece windows (hated them!) that needed paint, and some front and rear apron repair for $600. Drove it daily, 1600 dual port that had a weber progressive that was dialed in good and a header. Man I was an idiot! But needed the money for the down payment on a small pickup more practical for a small side business at the time.
Great job, looks like a ton more work than what is obvious. The payoff was the forensic investigation of the property that it came from, and then the interior. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love those road shots, reminds me of what New England used to look like when I grew up in Kingston and riding in the car through West Plymouth to my dads property un Carver. My one trip to Connecticut we had to take a lot of back roads to get to a wedding in 1995.
I bought a 62' 7 years ago for a grand - now they are going for 3 - 4 thousand in bad shape of course these are California prices - enjoy the clean up - beautiful find
When I saw you digging into the weeds I thought why don’t he get a big magnet so he won’t miss anything. Bet you mustie1 would have loved those bicycles. God bless
Looks like a decent deal. Not many early bugs for sale at that price in Quebec. I hope to start working on my '55 semaphore bug next Spring. I'll have to empty out the garage and build some shelving and workbenches first though. It was a solid Montana car I bought for $3400 CDN over 20 yrs ago. It only needs rear bumper mount and apron work.
thank you, I am starting to think this car might have 65k org miles and maybe the org engine blew due to lack of valve adjustment. It also could be a Canadian import and the engine #'s could be different.
Another great vid!!! Love these archaeological videos! What a beautiful Bug color. I want that bug!😂 Never had one, but man, I didn’t even know that color existed. I’d say you’ll come out on top with this one. Lol
Jason, most do “will it run” videos, but you got the “will it push video”. Ahhhh, success😁! You da one Brother. Have a great week and breathe deep…when you are done with the raccoon poop 🤗 Keep safe and thank you for your hard work ! John here, from the backroads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Hey Jason.....If your happy all that matters buddy. I think you good with the car. Should clean up.nice. Can't wait to see the motor start up. Nice ride up and back Jason...Great Vidio!!!
Really nice beetle, it's like going on a treasure hunt, you just do not know what you'll find. I see your point about the dash, I really like the combination of the blue with the white steering wheel. Best era for these cares in my opinion, love this one!
That original roof rack looks awesome give it some TLC the rest of the stuff that's awesome we got that too it's all worth too Grand no problem take care buddy
As long as you have a vision Jason that's good. If you bulk buy some floor pans then they will keep you going for a while and be cheaper 😉. Look I know you are dedicated so just put the yellow brick road down to part of the experience of buying another VW. Good luck with this one at least it rolls now. Thanks Jason for taking us along. 👍👍
Was it worth it financially? Maybe not. Was it worth it overall, Yep. Nice save. She's far from perfect, but she is a perfect project worth saving. That roof rack is interesting. Late model style with the all steel construction, but early style clamps. Might be original to that car, or at least very correct for the year.
yea worth it for all those extra parts. the turquoise and white interior combo would look so good. what do u tend to do with the seats? they always seem pretty busted up. reupholster them, leave them, swap em out? thanks for the content my dude have a good week
I forcast (with the benefit of seeing your wife proudly driving this in the future video) that this is going to be one of your better deals ... but if you could have only gotten there before those other 12 ...🤣🤐
Love me a turquoise '62! I have an all original Beryl Green '62 and can tell you that those are the original cloth seats in your car. That black seat trim panel is from a later model. Nice the original colour matched fender beading was hiding there. You really left that late model bumper with the fog lights on it behind???
I got a 68 had the motor done 3 time's still doesn't run right I'm in Oregon USA and we took it to a so called bug shop🔥 it's plum purple with purple and grey interior, my husband did the body work it had everything thrown inside it took a year hopefully this summer try and look for a different machcanic 😂😆 we paid $250
That's a sweet 62 Josh, much better than what you usually drag home! I love how you inventoried all the parts, im sure as you polish up the dashboard you will be in love!I guess I should be thrilled with paying $375 for my 72 35 yrs ago! Love watching your process. Question, you always pull the drums to free it up, do you remove the shower and just put the drums back on ow what?
Excellent video Jason :) also you got lots extra parts and hopefully engine also transmission in great shape too! Also Speedometer also fuel gauge work and fuel tank put some paint on rust part and be like fully new and think you did super well for $2.000 worth trip to buy!
I remember back in the 80s we used to buy these bugs for just a few hundred bucks.. beat but running.. grab a few cases of beer and have fun on our local off road woods trails...I dont think any of them ever made it home.. I wonder whats left of the bug carcasses today..
It’s just as much fun watching you find a Volkswagen as it is when I find one. Keep dragging them home, saving Volkswagens one at a time. I did drag home a Volvo 1800s in good condition but stuck engine. Do you have to run back up and get the rest of the parts or did you get somebody to help you out? Thanks Jason for taking us along.
When you do what you love for a living, you will never work another day ! I envy you man .. .. .. .. In my next life all I want is your optimism and I will be a winner .. .. ha ha ha ha ha !! Sure that this one is going to keep you busy for a while. Enjoy !!
Golden rod as an ornamental..... /sneeze! I'm sure it's not planned and just incidental lol. Really diggin' that roof rack. It's the taller one for the rag right? Super cool vid as usual. Thanks for sharing this grab.
yes! I said follow the yellow brick road when heading home legit 5 minutes later passed that yellow Bug ! Then I got all crazy and thought I saw one in a big red barn so I had to turn around again ! it was a volvo🤣...lost a 1/2 hour on that exchange! Thank you , yes ragtop rack
Love the turquoise color, not too often you see them. Look forward to the floor repair!
A treasure is a treasure... Thanks for the show...
Nice one. Will be nice to see that all put back together and running.
thank you Kevin
Wow that's another great score 👍. Wow those doors closed nice. Hole lot of parts. Can't wait to see will it run. Have a good week.
thank you EB👍

5150 to the rescue like always! 😎 Great Find! These are getting hard to find!
thank you, that was a long haul :)

Awesome find, J. Glad you had a successful trip. That’s a cool color, in more ways than one.
thank you , me too :)
Nice find! I'd like to see the dash when it's cleaned up and of course a first start. He has a good looking doggy!
Yes, worth it!! It was fun watching you discover all the "treasures" for this one. Looks nicely complete.
Dude you are a VW archaeologist.
😁
Love the color on that. Hope it cleans up fairly decent
Congratulations on your find...a diamond in the rough! What a great little treasure hunt among all that stuff in the back! I'm excited to see how this project progresses! Best wishes for your continued success.
thank you Frank, much appreciated

I would love to buy all of those bikes in the garage. A vintage bike heaven, if I ever saw one.
yes, some cool bikes , I have enough stuff , I don't need another hobby :)
Great video again Jason. Well worth the trip. What do you do with all these finds ? be great to have follow up videos of what happens to them.
thank you, right now I'm buffing that OG paint 😎

Really enjoyable video 5150, great to see the stash of goodies unfold. Long drive to get this one but we’ll worth the effort. Well done you 👍
Great buy mate, certainly worth the $2k that you paid for it.
The roof rack alone is probably worth a couple of hundred bucks
Great job, looks like a ton more work than what is obvious. The payoff was the forensic investigation of the property that it came from, and then the interior. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love that you just keep on finding them! Keep it up
thank you G40, will do
Structurally looks like one hell of a bug and original paint and pretty complete all bonuses👍🏼
Love those road shots, reminds me of what New England used to look like when I grew up in Kingston and riding in the car through West Plymouth to my dads property un Carver. My one trip to Connecticut we had to take a lot of back roads to get to a wedding in 1995.
Worth it! Might be a good one to preserve not fully restore. Nice work Jason!
please do a follow up after it's cleaned up...love the color
Doors closing nice and a good firewall are great plus's. Could be a great bug.
I'm here for the ride in the mountains I hope we make it 😉👍
Great find! New floor and sills. Buff paint. Will be a nice ride. 👍
I bought a 62' 7 years ago for a grand - now they are going for 3 - 4 thousand in bad shape of course these are California prices - enjoy the clean up - beautiful find
Score! It's always nice when you find new parts

this car surely has potential...great find

Wow! Two in a row that don’t need the brakes freed up! You’re on a “roll”, Jason. Oops, should’ve waited till the end…..
When all is said and done, doesn't matter what it's worth to us. It's what its worth to you. Your time, money and sweat are going into it.
