- I love Anika Nilles. Few drummers inspire me to stretch my skills like she does. So I thought that I would thank her for her inspiration by doing a drum cover of a recent song of hers.

Another nice job. You aren't afraid to tackle challenging music. Anika is one of the most impressive drummers I have heard in a while. So many drummers sound like someone else. She is fresh and unique and doesn't appear to steal from others. And she composes all her music also.
She's incredible. Someone I LOVE looking up to and learning from. She and Marco also have something in common. They both were nice enough to offer supportive comments on my drum covers of their songs. I respect their selflessness for doing that. :)
+Devikah You are correct that Anika and Marco even acknowledging your videos is pretty huge. And you do an excellent job replying to and engaging the people who comment on your videos. Those traits will keep you humble when you become successful and need to interact with "fans". Taylor Swift, for someone so successful, is the example of how to successfully interact with fans.
I can't think of a rarer ingredient than humility. Hard to find these days. Which is why I'm attracted to great musicians who are humble about their skills. :)

Devikah wouldn't necessarily say so. she shot to fame right from the start (within the scene of course) in my opinion. has been on drumeo, featured on many magazines and lots of credit from Meinl.

that it's rare to find Anika Nilles fans :-) I think she's quite famous by now ( but of course drummers like Thomas Lang, Benny Greb and even Jojo Mayer can't make it to mainstream music) but most drummers by now know Anika.

I agree. Most of Anika's songs are pretty challenging indeed. As are many progressive fusion songs. Gonna be looking at other similar musicians like AnimalsAsLeaders, Chon, etc. :)

It's not a coincidence that bands, who have exceptional instrumentalists, rarely need a vocalist in their band. They tend to let their instruments do the singing. :)

Anika est un de mes mentors niveau batteuse et est une des plus grande de la discipline !mais là je m'incline bien bas mademoiselle la meilleure drummeuse c'est cash! la releve est assuré ;) faut plus de miss batteuse !! elles sont souvent phenomenal !! respect ;)

you really covered this song!! man! I've been struggling with it for a long time!! how can you learn these songs?! like physical education, this one one or the woven web?
Thank you, Reynaldo. I use th Internet to my fullest advantage. I locate all the videos that are out there for the song I am learning; chop 'em up into smaller sections for me to master, and; then tie up all the sections in the end. It's a method that works for me. ^_^
I do the same! I'm actually preparing physical education because I saw you playing it, but dude! it takes way more effort learning it than actually playing it! hahah
Funny you should say that, Reynaldo. I had to work a lot harder to learn Physical Education that I did for Woven Web. Woven Web is a lot more popular, though. Sometimes you have to pick a less popular song to really stretch your skills. I 'll look forward to your cover of Physical Education. ^_^

Devikah He's so unique.. For sure you've seen him played "Jackhammer" Spaceship One.. That's the video I first saw him.. It blew me away when he played that crazy drum solo.

Exceptional playing. ..checked yur DT cover too.. yu make drumming n drummers feel it's such easy..though it's not..It flows in your case...
But yur sound is poor..especially bass ..toms. .not impressed with that. .though I m not a drummer. Lov n luck.
