Diane is so gracious and professional. On the other hand, Katie Couric with her cheesy smile is so unprofessional. What is wrong with Katie and all the other interviewers who *always* ask Diane "Why didn't you get married?" And also, "Let's talk about Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, and all your other boyfriends." Can't they think of anything else? Diane is an intelligent, vibrant and multi-faceted person. Can't these interviewers think of any more creative questions to ask? Don't they do any preparation? Katie Couric, et al. always sound so shallow and stupid.
Furthermore, I think it's very insulting that Katie Couric point blank says to Diane, "Oh, you're still very insecure aren't you?" How rude is that! And then Katie gives her big cheesy grin and laughs at that.
I guess I'm rambling on and on because I do not like Katie Couric, her interviewing style nor her voice. Also, finally, when she does a voiceover to a video piece she talks *so* slowly like she just learned English .
Well said. I found Katie Couric's interview insulting for the reasons you mentioned above. To then ask, "are you okay?" Really Katie? You are given the opportunity to interview such a fantastic individual that has lived life on her on terms and you ask if she is insecure? Aj so ridiculous. Comics like Stephen Colbert ask more thoughtful questions.

I agree Catherine. I though Katie was so phony and put her own insecurities onto Diane. On the other hand Diane was so gracious and took Katie's weirdness like a pro.

Katie Couric expects a pass and sympathy because her husband died. However, what an entitled, gossip-hungry, judging "interviewer". Diane is honest, adorable and a lovely human being.

I first saw Diane Keaton many years ago on a daytime talk show ( I think Mike Douglas). She sang "What do you get when you fall in love) and I thought she was great. She surely could have made it as a singer. She was very quirky back then but I've always been a fan! Glad she got into acting!
I think I remember her singing in cabaret style places, a bit more than see jokes about her. She is a gem

Asking "are u ok?" when ur guest is being quirky, cute and likable when answering ur damn question is super rude.I really don't like Katie. Fake. Fake humility. Fake gummy smile with all the squinting. Diane is a LEGEND & can talk about a lot of other things & not the men from her past.
She dated men that were not interested in a life partner but only interested in the NEXT partner. Al Pacino seems like a great guy and they could have been a great couple instead he just got dumped by a woman that publicly said it is because he is 'so old.' He's had an amazing life so you can't feel sorry for him but now instead of love, a woman dumps him and basically says he is to be pitied. She seems adorable and great fun and it is actually a little sad she never married. But again she's had an amazing life.
When she said no one ever asked her to marry them I felt a little sorry for her though.
