CHP, CAL FIRE, State Parks, 3 Helicopters respond to OCEAN RESCUE

- First responders rushed to Laguna State Beach north of Santa Cruz Monday afternoon for reports of two people requiring rescue in the surf. Upon arrival of first responders, one person was out of the water, however one victim was no longer in sight.
As of 8:00 p.m., the second victim has not been located, and is still believed to be missing per first responders.

Talk about a great Mutual Aid response! However the sad reality in these cases is the chances of survival and probability of detection (unless one makes it to land) lessen as the time goes on, regardless of how many resources you have for the operation. :(
