For monsters you should Light attack into heavy. it combos into it. then use wire bug to cancel out of the heavy. earn more damage from it. rajang forward light into back heavy. hopefully youv enraged it before mounting though so its laser is way better
You should try Gunlance! It's a lot of fun for solo play. It can take a little getting used to but just use evade extender +2 or even 3 and you'll be much more mobile!
From my experience Gunlance is fun for a couple of hours, but it gets old very fast. No matter what type of gunlance you play, you always just want to spam one attack, the attack just differs with the types.
@@thechadturion27 In a literal sense sure, if you break it down not even close, biggest difference with other weapons is they have the mobility to not get stale on top of the way higher damage, more armour and switch skills options which totally change your playstyle you can build for them and still perform optimally, kinda like how it was on GU even for both gunlance/lance, but they don't have that choice on rise. If you go with them you will be set to using nothing but the same armours and switch skill sets if you want to play optimally damage wise and kinda goes the same for weapons since almost are all meh other than 3 or 5 and their switch skills feel like what hunting edge is for GS; just a move that you can do normally. What pains me the most is with lance using certain skills that were essential now "punish" you, anchor rage deals less damage with guard related skills and doesn't block all attacks unless you spend for them and for gunlance even with focus charged shelling falls behind so much in damage no one runs it. Hoping Sunbreak adds more switch skills and armour/weapon options that put both weapons on a more interesting place than where they are right now. Tl;Dr: Yes, but no.
@Vandole Is not utterly ruined, it got the better end of the stick compared to lance which feels like the worst weapon in rise, but if you want to deal damage your better options are spamming ground splitter and shell burst, because a slaplance playstyle doesn't really do it anymore specially for endgame monsters specially due the fact that some can stunlock and cart you while guarding constantly spamming moves is a massive deal breaker when they're supposed to be the guard weapons. Spamming wyverns fire with hail cutter can be used and is way more fun than the usual style but gets annoying after a while when some hitboxes knock you out of the air despite the attack being nowhere near you but you can easily get sub 7 runs on almost every monster even playing poorly, is not speedrunner levels but for an average person doing that low amount of time is pretty nuts.
Definitely planning to release more Gunlance vids once PC version drops. Im still not sure if I'm going to double dip and get it on PC but I'll at least try to put out some good Gunlance gameplay

Sick game play! I checked your build so I can make it as well but I can’t see what deco’s you’re using.
Thank you! You can see what skills/decorations I'm using in the 2nd pic. The green points are what I have slotted in
@@casuallycompetitivecwiss9321 awesome! I appreciate your speedy reply. I subbed and I look forward to more content :)

Sounds like a Smash clone with MH monsters lol 😂
Altho that _does_ sound kinda nice
Looking at this make me want to try gunlance. I hope its not that hard to use.

How do you blast dash right into discharge all ammo?
The attacking after blast dash acts the same as the overhead swing
Can't wait to try some of the new moves out when this hits pc i'm going to be rocket boosting everywhere.
I went from MHW's Hunting Horn to MHR's GunLance and I've never looked back. Shit's so much fun.

Sorry for the late reply! Here's the build. Not the most optimal but pretty comfy to use and hits pretty hard still

This video was before Sunbreak came out. So making this type of comment after it is out is just rather ignorant.
@@astralguardian5930 thanks homie. Always glad when people watch my vids, even if they're old. Working on some more Sunbreak Gunlance stuff though!
