- Gunlance may not be top tier in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak but it's still the most fun weapon I have played.

Armor Set can be found at the start of the video! Not the most optimal but very comfy. Has everything you need. You could easily swap in Handicraft and get purple sharpness (which I'm totally going to try to do)
Currently trying to build a decent sneak attack set without sacrificing too much of my comfy-ness
the shells don't need sharpness level. will deal same even at sharpness green
@@zed2225 The sharpness is for the actual lance's damage. Being that he's going normal shelling fullburst, purple sharpness is worth it. If he was going pure shelling on wide or barrage blast spam you would be right, but fullburst actually requires melee hits and with the right stats they can be pretty meaty hits too.
@@justinwickes4962 Hey thanks for the discussion! I was really curious about if purple sharpness was worth pursuing. Sounds like it is. I'm guessing it would also make the shield hit of RBD stronger too right?
@@casuallycompetitivecwiss9321It should, and all you need is one handicraft to get to purple. Being that you already have speed sharpening 3 and protective polish 3, you can just sharpen every 90 seconds or so to keep it at purple.

Currently using vampire malzeno build with my gunlance. Once you break a part ifs very hard to die.
It's an interesting set. Seems to me that it should be used with Erupting Cannon to get more out of WeX but otherwise I'll definitely use it
I still go in the wrong direction with reverse blastdash. Are you using left thumb stick to face opposite direction and the activating RBD. This looks a great set. Just got to get a few malzeno mats
Hi! Yes I use the left thumb stick and aim the rbd in the opposite direction you want to go. I usually do it all in one motion but you have a fair amount of time to input the direction. I recommend going to the training area, hit start, and adjust the training options for infinite wirebug use. That way you can practice getting the timing and motion until it's in muscle memory :)
This set is a bit outdated and I'm now using sneak attack but I'm waiting until the next title update this month before posting another video on an updated set
Hellfire is confusing, description says it enhances attack but didn't mention it was for specific attacks only like reverse dash.

What's the decision making for reverse blast dash? Why not save the wirebugs for Bullet Barrage?
Its completely invincible. Pretty good to avoid attacks or attacking depending on ur positioning
I suggest widen your keyword search : Ryo Gunlance Speedrunner. You”ll understand it. He is one of the first speedrunner to utilize reverse blast as super offensive fullburst playstyle.
Replies are wrong below. Its slightly dps favourable and loops better. It is also necessary to trigger the hellfire bead to drop on the ground.
How do you do the reverse blast and hit the monster without turning the opposite direction?
I use a lot of hellfire sets. Try and get recuscitate in there. Are you using the magnamalo rampage deco in your weapon?
I'm using the anti-jewels. The buff they give you is constant. I've heard they're completely better than that magnamalo rampage deco
Why using hell fire blight when shelling does not proc element?
Hellfire Cloak gives you an additional knockdown and like 100+ dmg on reverse blast dash. RBD is good already so I like the extra damage 🙂

Every reverse blast Dash explodes in 100+pts of damage and the first one knocks the monster down giving you a heavy damage opening window. Bullet Barrage up close and Ground Splitter also achieve this effect.
@@williamtorres4140 does guard edge? In my experience against magnamalo I always sheathed and wired dashed because I tried once to remove hellfire using a silkbind and it didn't
@@Toast0nyx I've not tried it with Guard Edge. I noticed it first with Ground Splitter and it became a thing for me to allow one hit to pass so I can get Hellfire Blight and then get a Good Knock down with it.
I use it for the knockdown and it makes Reverse Blast Dash even more powerful than it already is
