Finally, my first ever horror animation, WELP!!! please tell me what you think, was it scary or nah????
I shortened the original audio because 10 minutes is just too hard to animate.
the donut shop was inspired from the Big Donut from Steven Universe. I also was inspired by the great Llama Arts.

I really didn’t think he was creepy either. Looked like some of the Russians who come in my store. As for being tired but energized. Coffee. Forgetting their stuff? This is why partnership is necessary in night shifts.
Doesn't mean it always happens
Where I work at it was common in the district to have you be the only one at night because it is a 3rd shift burger place where it was way way too much work for the pay, no one really wants to work there, and so being by yourself was pretty common.
They used to close down if you were by yourself but after a new district manager was hired he said he would fire anyone who did that, so anyone at the point manager or employee would have to run the 3rd by themselves so that the company would make a _few_ and I do stress _few_ extra dollars
Any food venue besides Mcdonalds shouldn't have 3rd shift because no one makes money past 12am most times.
Sole proprietorship cost less
I'm the only night shifter at my store because everyone else is afraid of creepy stuff like this, probably because all my coworkers are women and probably see themselves as more vulnerable, but I really like getting the weird serial killer vibe people because I enjoy feeling like I shielded everyone else in a way

even with two people a person could still overpower them both it all depends on the two people and the other person though bec if it was two young females versus a tall man they most likely would not make it

I work at a McDonald's and I can confirm that there are costumers who, for no apparent reason, can make you very, very nervous.
It's strange, it happened to me several times and it scares me because my intuition with people does not usually fail.

A cliffhanger ending like that loses most of its impact when the story is being told in first person. While we don't know what happened to the person, it at least indicates that they survive. Otherwise, they would not have been able to tell the story in the first place.

I work at jimmy johns as a closing shift manager. After we lock the doors I have 1 in-shop employee and one driver who works with me to finish up closing procedures. I always let them leave before me, as I have paperwork still to do and I like to go over everything before I leave to make sure the store is in order for the next day. Every now and then I’ll be in the back office doing paperwork by myself and I’ll hear something from the front of the store. Usually I just brush it off because I know the fridges and ice machines make noises every now any then, but it still catches me off guard occasionally. One night I was in back doing paperwork as usual and heard something kind of loud fall. I froze. I legitimately thought I forgot to lock the front door and that someone came in unannounced. I got up slowly and grabbed the broom (as if it would be any sort of self defense). It turned out to be a stack of sandwich papers that the ceiling fan blew over. Very anticlimactic I know, but it brought me genuine fear

@@yuh9850 I was once told that this is because, in the "old days", sometimes people who were simply comatose would be mistaken for dead, and buried alive in cemeteries. It was enough of a problem that sometimes people would be buried with a string around their index finger, leading up out of the dirt and connected to a little bell; if the person was indeed alive after all and "woke up", they would ring the bell. It was someone's job at graveyards to patrol around the graveyard at night, both to deter graverobbers and so that someone would be there if any of the bells rang and they could call for help to dig the person out. Now, working a shift at a job which requires you to be up all night is referred to as a "graveyard shift". Or at least, that's what I was told is the origin of that term.

Wait... why’d he quit? I mean, it’s implied that the weird tall guy did something frightening and the main character escaped, but it feels kind of incomplete. We know he lives, because he says that the last evening was the reason why he quit, but we don’t know exactly why the weird tall guy wanted him alone. Maybe he was just awkwardly flirting with him? He bought him a coffee the first night he arrived, got his number (albeit in a creepy way because he didn’t ask for it), and wanted to speak to him alone, or privately.
So we could technically infer that the tall guy asked the main character out and the he rejected him, but still felt unsettled by the incident and decided to quit.
I’m not saying it’s a bad animation, in fact, I’m asking for more. I like the style a lot, the “Durkin Doruts” reminds me of the Big Donut from Steven Universe, which I watched from high school through college. But I just think there’s more to this story than what’s given, especially because the general tone of this piece is dark and suspenseful, and the payoff is minimal in that regard. Still, good work! I like the feel of these videos.
