Everyone's talking about the part when the guy is revealed, but honestly the perspective when the clerk is holding the door closed and brandishing the shotgun is amazing. It replaces that influx of dread with a sense of relief, not only because we know she is now safe, but also as if we, the audience, are being protected as well. The look in his eye is so fierce, and it really translates well to the viewers his intention to make sure absolutely nothing gets through that door. Awesome animation as usual.
so truee! this is a very deep, insightful review of the scenario and i'm so amazed.. you would make a great animation/story/movie reviewer... 🙏

I couldn't even think that way because the only thought that came to my mind was that they were partners, and she wasn't safe inside.

As someone who used to work graveyard shift at a gas station, this story is 100% plausible.
@@mehdiimmortalshorts8748 would be awesome if he/she did
Storytime!
Well dang, I'm not much of a storyteller, but I'll try to deliver. I worked graveyard in a sort of industrial part of town, so it's mostly truckers, factory workers, etc. in the early morning. Pretty secluded otherwise. One night, I lock up because I'm alone (my boss hates it, but without at least two people, that's the rule), but about 2 in the morning, I hear a banging on the door. This woman is wearing some pretty nice clothes, but her hair's a mess, makeup all smeared, and she's not wearing shoes. I see she's being followed by a drunk dude, again in nice but disheveled clothing, and I assume for a moment they're together, until I let her in and she yells, "lock the door! Lock the door!" So I lock the door, just before I see this dude has a knife. Turns out he'd been following her from a club about a mile away, she'd lost her shoes and her feet were bleeding like hell. Dude was banging on the door, trying to convince me to let him in, knife just out in the open now. I called the cops and they picked him up, questioned me, an ambulance got the lady, and I mopped up all the blood before my manager came in by the morning. There are all sorts of crazy people roaming about between bars closing and the sun coming up.
@@misterdanny5421 I think you did a pretty good Job telling that story

Jose Mejia don’t act like some saint lmao
Yes that was the entire point of the story, excellent observation. You should be a detective!
moral of the story: lock your doors when you pump gas
Or be more aware of your surroundings, honestly, not locking the car doors is pretty forgiving because the girl didn’t go away of the car
my car has to be unlocked for me to open the gas tank thing so this is such a fear of mine. that’s why we always check the back seat before getting in!
What would've happened if the clerk proceeds to chase that girl and the girl just drop her key when unlocking the door?
I always do that
@@WackyWahooGuy I lock mine even if I'm by my car pumping gas; people can/will open your doors to try and steal anything you may have in your car when your back is turned, happens around the large city I live by.
I was NOT expecting it to take that turn holy shit
really? then you havent seen/listened to many horror stories. I was "oh, he has seen something that is threatening her" the moment I saw the clerk. Because that is how "horror" works. You have to have suspension to wind up your listener and then something unexpected happens.
Moral of the story?
Service staff don't get paid enough
@@oldoneeye7516 yeah, pretty much this exact thing happened in the beginning of the movie Urban Legends. She thinks the guy at the gas station is gonna kill her when he tries to get her to come inside over problems with her credit card, but he was trying to get her to come inside because he saw someone in her back seat. Though that movie is awful so I'm happy for people who haven't seen it.

I legit got chills when the narrator read the clerk's sign and then the girl slowly turned to look at her car. Such good timing and score in the background. Even though the actual art wasn't that scary the realization that there's an unknown threat is far scarier than any monster. Fear is in our minds and this story made good use of that.
Exactly, the drawing isnt even that distrubing. But its just simply terrifying when all put together
Alex PintoG. In my opinion I think the drawing is disturbing, that inhuman expression the creepy guy pulls while he jitters in the backseat gives me mad goosebumps
@@tony_7274 true, but the most disturbing part is when the narrator turns and sees his distorted face, you know. Whats scarrier isnt the image itself, but how realistic it would be to sit in your car calmly and then notice in your mirror that theres a man with a strange grin on his face waiting for you in the back of your car
Alex PintoG. Yeah igy that’s true, getting chills every time I think about it lmao
Tony Payne I really thought the drawing was really disturbing, putting into consideration I saw it at midnight home alone, I legit can’t finish the video since the moment she sees him, I got pretty scared with the narration, the background score and the timing, this is the first time in years I’ve got scared over a cartoon and that crazy bastard looks like The Ballon from Phineas and Pherb.
My bf thinks I'm crazy for locking my car everytime I get gas. I'm sending him this video.
I do that too
one can never be too cautious
You’re absolutely not crazy! My mom taught me to always lock the door when pumping gas and sure enough about 10 years after she taught me- it happened. I live in a nice area and sure enough this man and a lady pretended to get air in the tires. She stayed in the car and watched me as her man went up to the other side of my car and tugged on the door 2x while crouched down in broad daylight (I don’t go out after dusk alone) and this f*cker tried playing it off. I acted like I couldn’t hear him for fear of losing my life and continued pumping gas. It was a brand new car at the time so I didn’t know (before my husband taught me) that I could unlock the car 1x and only the driver seat will unlock. So anyway, he pretends to go in the store and only makes it in the doorway before running back to his girl in their lemon and speed off. Earlier that day? A man was following me around the grocery store and out into the parking lot. I ran to my car and got TF out of there.
Get a gun as well, I want my girlfriend to have a gun. But she says she doesn’t think she can kill someone. All for your safety. Stay safe.

This is like that urban legend about the Head Lights.. where apparently a murderer snuck into a lady’s car and the driver behind her kept shining his head lights just so he could keep an eye on the murderer, and warn the lady, all the while the lady thought the driver behind her was trying to follow her and go for the silent kill..

Kinda feel sorry for the clerk, she called him sketchy and weird, my man was just tryin save her life
Edit: I got tired of all the insanity that my comment caused so now you can guess what I commented. In summary: I didn't like that the girl flipped off the guy because she could just not go into the store, it's good that she was cautious but she didn't need to flip him off, that didn't save her anyway. Oh no, I'm so sexist, how dare I, right?
@@mhm77887 I mean, sorry to say but you can never, ever be too cautious. She was alone and it was late at night, a stranger asking her to come inside with the reason of her credit card wasnt working, even though she could clearly see that it had worked. Nobody else was in the area, so if he did decide to do something bad, nobody would see. She had reason to be cautious.
@@mhm77887 I mean he could've been just as dangerous as the guy in the car.
For women being out alone, especially at night, is like a survival horror game. Were not trying to be rude, were just cautious.

The reveal shot of the guy in the car genuinely creeped me out, it's my worst nightmare as a woman who works night shifts. It's the reason I ALWAYS lock my car when I get out for petrol. Even if someone was riding along with me. I lock the doors. Always.
Same. I lock my car multiple times when I get in and multiple times when I get out for gas. Literally there's no reason not to make sure that your car is locked anytime you leave it or get in it.
I'm a dude and I always lock my car when I'm not in it. It's not even that I'm scared of something happening, it just never occurred to me to do anything else.
I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t lock their door. All you do is hit the switch as your getting out. It’s amazing how many people leave their car unlocked though.
As a guy, it’s just as terrifying, if not more, given that statistically, I’m more likely to get killed.
@@AngryBoozer Guys get killed more often than women because their first instinct is to fight more often than flight. That turns nasty when your robber has a knife in his pocket.

As soon as he started urgently pounding on the window, I knew where this was going. I've heard my share of stories in which the initially shady-seeming character was actually protecting the main character from some other danger they were completely oblivious to.
To me, it's a plot twist that brings an interesting cocktail of mixed emotions, because on the one hand, you're horrified to find out about the creeper lurking in the bushes or whatever, but then you're simultaneously learning that the other dude was looking out for the main character and had their back. The scary part and the sort of heartwarming part, they both get revealed in the same time.
All jokes aside this shit really happens. And this ain’t the only scenario and tactics they use. It’s usually more sneaky, stay safe y’all.

These are the types of stories I hate as a self defense/firearms instructor. She did nothing wrong really, aside from not locking her car but her instincts were good and her smart reaction to something wrong could've gotten her killed.
Sometimes even if you listen to your lizard brain and your creep radar goes off... you still might be wrong.
Sometimes there is nothing you can do. Sometimes anything you do is wrong, and anything you try goes bad. We can just hope that people look out for eachother because when people stick together, those small situations where everything us wrong... they shrink. The likelihood of survival goes up, and everyone is safer.
Remember to look out for your fellow man. You don't need to carry a gun or know kung fu to save lives. Many times, just paying attention is enough.
This is very important.
I was really like "girl why you still talking to him? GET IN YOUR CAR!" and thenn i completely switch and said "OMG, RUN IN THE STORE"

The creepiest thing is that the phone at the beginning is showing THE EXACT TIME I'm watching this video. 11:58 p.m.

Same. I have a car but I'm from NJ, the one state its illegal to pump your own gas...probably the only situation in which this would ever benefit me
Dangerous outside the blanket
This is why it's crucial, especially when you're driving alone at night, to lock every door and shut every window in your car and only leave the driver door unlocked. Because chances are, you'll hear the person try to open the other doors, and will only have to option to open the door that they'll most likely get caught in. I know it may seem like common sense, but it's easy to be forgetful in these small details, and moments like that could be a situation of life or death.
Also I’m surprised by the amount of people who don’t check their back seat before getting into their car I do it every time it’s easier than people think to break into locked cars maybe I’m just paranoid
@@meganmckay8115 i sometimes do it. Maybe when. Im paranoid too but not all the time i also do it for shower curtains
“be suspicious but not stupid.” CONSIDER EVERYTHING. “creepy” guy calling you from inside the store? be hesitant. lock your door when you pump gas. check your surroundings. consider the possibility that the guy in the store might be a weirdo but also consider that someone might be behind you while you’re not looking. consider every possible thing that could happen. sad way to live but very necessary to “survive”.
so many people ignore their gut feeling, and so many people act on stupidity.
BE PARANOID, BE AFRAID OF EVERYONE, DEATH IS AROUND EVERY CORNER, holy shit chill it aint that bad irl.

this is so "dont judge a book by its cover" vibe.
Before getting in my car I legit always look inside to make sure no one else climbed in. I also lock my doors immediately when I get in the car since a lot of attacks happen when people get in their car without locking the door and think they're safe. And when people start to follow me on the way home (it's happened a few times) I stare directly at them, which usually intimidates them into leaving. My mom did this back in the day when leaving the grocery store by herself at 5am (she always shopped super early at 24 hr stores because she could leave my siblings and I sleeping in our beds with my dad home and get done with her shopping faster) and it worked, so she told me to do this from then on.
These kinds of things really happen?
@@Iujjdjcbjrujgsm Yep, they definitely do.
@@Iujjdjcbjrujgsm You'll rarely hear about it in the news because of how often it has been happening for decades. With the pand3mic going on, attempted robbery and theft has only increased. Even got a notification of a wanted burglar in my small town. The world is full of desperate, scary ass ppl.
Follow you on the way home in your car? Like do you look at the rear view or are they next to you? How do you stare at them? I need to know this trick too lol
@@mariee_e The incident with my mom happened in the parking lot when she was walking to her car, which is where a lot of people target women to kidnap. She stares at them to show them that she knows what they look like and sees what they are doing and they back down. I also did this when someone started following me on a bike trail and they backed down too.
This is why locking your car when you’re gassing up is a good idea. Not only for this reason but also to prevent your car from being stolen.
It's always a femboy deer.
FeverMutt What is always a femboy deer?
I find it really weird for people in other countries to fill their own tanks lol. Here when you go to a gas station you don’t have to get out of your car, actually someone from the gas station fills your tank and then you can pay from your car, without getting out.
@@vagaenpiyama8001 I honestly prefer to do things myself.
This is sad for me, a Pastor and director of a school I was in when I was a kid got killed in this way. He never gave people rides and one day he went to a gas station in broad daylight, someone got in the car and he didn't notice and then when he got in he was held at gunpoint and was asked to drive somewhere, on the way no one knows what happens but he got shot and crashed against a church, the criminal ran away as the director and pastor was bleeding out. In the end, the pastor of the church he crashed against knew him and as he was bleeding out they prayed together as he died waiting for an ambulance.
This is not a scary story for me, this is something very possible and very dangerous and you should always look behind your seats, not only at night
And LOCK YOUR DOORS the moment you get out.
R.I.P you poor bastards :( but yeah, what the previous comment said, keep your doors locked.

Bro I got so scared I felt that specific dizziness from fear and almost got a heart attack
I’d rather stop for gas than be stranded in the dark but I also don’t want to get out of my car to pump it
Welcome to New Jersey
In my country theres people doing this in every gas pump so you don't leave the car.
Namtittes
In some states fo the US they have others pump the gas fro you
It’s best to plan ahead and keep your car well gas’d up during day time. Thats what I do. I refuse to pump at night, but if I really did have to (for trips and stuff), I would need to be with someone I know and in a well-lit area where there’s a lot of stores around too.
JaiNY yes fr I live near a gas station them mother fucking lights are so bright
"One of the first things my mother told me was to keep my eye on the gas tank, and if I ever needed more I should leave early and stop on the way, but never on my way back"
I swear, everytime my parents give me these kinds of advices, I always get the chills.
Can you explain the advice? It’s 3am and I’m sleepy sorry
@@BeanSprouts02 @Xiaojie Ziyun 3 am and you're watching this? Damn. 😂 btw. It means that if you work during nightime, you should do all the things you need to do before going to work, e.g. refilling up your tank on your way, because when your shift ends and its late at night, all you should be wanting to do is to go home and avoid stopping. Otherwise, you'll end up just like what happened to the lady.
THIS is exactly why every woman who drives and is alone absolutely NEEDS to check the backseats of their car and or trunk. This is one of my biggests fears thanks to this and that one Scary Stories to tell in the Dark story lmaoo
