    I saw Paul in concert this past July..it inspired me to search for a book about him, having just retired. I found Philip's book, read it and enjoyed it very much. Having seen several McCartney interviews since, including on Colbert, i find Paul confirms some stories that were in the book. For me it was well done, And i endorse it!

    McCartney is possibly one of the most gifted men in music history.He is a national treasure and a gift from God!To think there was a time in the early eighties after John was killed that he was badly thought of is hard to believe.There would almost certainly have been no Pepper or White Album without Paul as John was a lazy bugger at this period.Basically,he’s a good guy who was well brought up and in many ways hasn’t changed from the working class lad from Liverpool.That is a great tribute to him.

      Paul started pushing back in the 80's when people who knew better was saying John was 3/4 of the Beatles and Paul just booked the studio.

    Paul did the tape loops on "tomorrow never knows" he co-wrote "A day in the life" so Paul deserves his fair share of the avant gard part of the Beatles.

    The Chinese food analogy is perfect, when that high isn't there it can often be substituted by something destructive, drugs or drink usually, George had spirituality, John had activism, the live process is such a natural part of life for Paul and Ringo, not doing it would be unnatural

    Yep based on this interview and the authors apparent ignoring of Mark Lewisohn's updated information and his lack of much knowledge on Paul's 45 year solo career, I have since taken the book out of my Amazon cart and will not be purchasing it.

      Many people who really know their Beatles history have serious concerns about Philip Norman- and the way he has talked about George since his death is seriously ignorant and harmful

      He has said that George wasn`t as talented as John and Paul was and he is of course 100% right. George was pretty good, but not on the level of Lennon&McCartney.

      Ra HoWa Interesting that Mary, Stella and James McCartney resemble so much the late Paul. Bill made a great job, didn’t he? But ops, Paul died in 1966? And Mary was born in 1969? Dumb people.

      Norman is unbearably smug. In response to being asked why he hadn't corrected mistakes which Lewisohn brought to light, his reply was that people are too hung up on facts. That says everything about his attitude. Norman's McCartney book is a limp, disingenuous apology for over thirty years of uninformed, mean-spirited nonsense.

    You seem as a group to be ignoring the elephant in the room despite sitting on it's back explain how Macca suddenly grows 3.5 inches, his eyes turn from brown to green ,his lefthandedness has become righthandednss, his facility with ALL musical instruments was now phenominal!IS THIS THE SAME PERSON?He fails a blood test, a fingerprint test, a DNA test LENNON And HARRISON cannot tolerate his presence in the band. IS THIS THE SAME PERSON?

      Seriously? Well all Paul's family must be in on this conspiracy to cos they have a big family party every Christmas on the Wirral and have had for years. Now you'd think some of his aunties and uncles might have noticed something. Maybe they killed all his aunties, uncles and cousins and replaced them as well.

      @Ra HoWa So when I met his Liverpool family I must have been tripping. Can I interest you in the latest tin foil hat?

    • @hotdognights1
      @hotdognights1 5 років тому +2

      @Ra HoWa Well I met his Uncle Albert back in the late 70's. His Auntie Milly was with him but she didn't say anything. I was made up finding out that he really did have an Uncle Albert because the song is one of my favourites. But apparently I didn't meet them because they are all a figment of my imagination. Seen McCartney in Parkgate a few times as well. Or I might not have cos he was replaced by an alien in 1966.

    Keep in mind too that McCartney tends to rewrite history to the point that Lennon did next to nothing aside from "Couldn't get much worse". Talk about insecurity.

      That's just the story he uses for their partnership. That's not insecurity

    You'd have to believe that two or more people could maintain a secret - to believe that the McCartney replacement was more talented than the original. How can two people keep a secret? One of them must be dead.
