Me and my family lived in Chicago and was homeless in the mid late 90’s early 2000s going into 20 years living homeless, worked our way out of homelessness in 2009! nobody gave us a dime nothing free, we lived like animals on the streets, stayed in a few shelters and got thrown out of a few due to lost of funding at that time. so if we can give migrants everything they need here in America and want from everything free why can’t we help our current homeless Americans?
May I propose that any able-bodied young man or woman migrant between the ages of 18 and 35 be immediately enrolled into the U.S. military without VA benefits for three years after which they and their immediate family can take a citizenship test and become a legal citizen. Or if they choose to serve on the frontlines they will be granted citizenship in one year with no citizenship test required. If they refuse they should immediately be deported back to their country.

Fact..my wife and I including her brothers are all veterans and one brother has been waiting forever for a surgery from the VA. And not to mention another vet I knew who just said to hell with it and took his life on top of his denied benifits paperwork a few years back at the VA.

Well to play devils advocate liberal cities do have shelters but most homeless are either too mentally ill to try to better themselves and the drug addicts don’t want to follow the strict rules most shelters put in place. I was in a homeless shelter for awhile in NYC and it was an easygoing one but if you didn’t get back by 10pm you were locked out for the night until around 8am which means you were also locked in!

Not all homeless people are drug addicts or mentally ill, but, you're right, most of them are. Nevertheless, whatever money is being used to assist illegals should be used for the citizens. What Chicago is doing is a slap in the face to their homeless citizens who are desperately in need.

Someone should have asked why migrants living in tents near Chicago's North Lake Shore Drive have several bikes, motor cycles and new cars parked near their tents ? Are these life necessities for survival? Also, where are they getting cash to buy drugs? I just saw a video of Chicago northside migrants mob out on the street late night surrounding 2 police cars who were called on them. One resident picked up 3 clear drug bags she found in their area and exposed it on a video. The migrants brought their behaviors, drug habits with them to the Chicago an already troubled city.
All this shows is that we could ave housed homeless, get millions of dollars to support homeless, and ask the government for work permits for the homeless. These politicians literally could’ve did this for AMERICAN CITIZENS.

May I propose that any able-bodied young man or woman migrant between the ages of 18 and 35 be immediately enrolled into the U.S. military without VA benefits for three years after which they and their immediate family can take a citizenship test and become a legal citizen. Or if they choose to serve on the frontlines they will be granted citizenship in one year with no citizenship test required. If they refuse they should immediately be deported back to their country.

Last time I looked at a map I noticed there are at least 8 countries between Venezuela and the American border that are options for anyone seeking asylum from Venezuela....I thought seeking asylum was about getting somewhere safe, not about shopping for the best country in which to reside.
