These are AMAZING. I rarely see artists brave enough to show things they are unsatisfied with. Kudos!!! Also love seeing you not being afraid to paint on the bent part of the paper. I feel it makes everything more dynamic!!
These are so beautiful!! I love how you changed the style of the orange painting. I don't have balls to do that. I also completely understand the point about loving colors. It's hard for me to stick to a limited palette as well!!
I watched all the way to the end. I loved the fact you didn't just stick to one thing. You just went with the flow. It was a lovely experiment to see unfold. Well done. It's a beautiful journal.
Merci beaucoup Sofia de nous partager une manière de reprendre le processus créatif avec bienveillance, ton style est superbe je m'abonne à toi pour ne rien louper...bisous du sud de la France
Great work ethic! Doing some drawing and painting every day, even for just a few minutes at a time, really pays off in improved skills, but it's also a great self-care exercise. We agree also that frequent practice helps internalize forms and subjects so that eventually we become less dependent on reference. Nice!
The diversity of your choices is so inspiring. I love gouache and hope you share more of your process. Congrats on working with jelly gouache, I find them quite frustrating
I loved watching this video, seeing your art and hearing your commentary. I actually really liked the cloud painting, but I do understand the frustration of something in your mind not showing up on the page. When it comes to not wanting to paint or draw, I also experience that at times, and sometimes, I do push through it and find myself wondering why I felt that way in the first place because I start to enjoy what I'm creating in that moment. But other times, my brain-to-paper channel is just blocked, and when that occurs, I sometimes decide it is time to walk away for a little bit. You did what you set out to do, though! Amazing work!
thank you for your insight ❤️ I love hearing how other artists feel and approach their creative process! Yes, sometimes it's walking away, other times it's pushing through!!
So so beautiful! I am working on monochromatic illustrations, and this helped inspire me so much ❤ I really appreciate not only your art, but your positive words, music and thoughts!
It's the middle of the night and I just watched this whole video. It was nice and calming. You're so good. I actually like the clouds. It looks great. You're amazing
Your illustrations are breathtaking! Seeing you paint makes me very calm and satisfied, it doesn't matter if the painting is perfect or not. Also, I can relate to letting go of trying to find the perfect reference. Now I use multiple references for certain details and I'm trying to grow my own style. This is only the first video I've seen from your channel, but I know you'll be a great inspiration for me ❤
I like that sky, you are definitely way too hard on yourself. I have made this mistake myself too, wanting each picture to be ‘perfect’ in a sketchbook. I think that is the biggest block to improving if you don’t allow yourself to produce subpar work on an off day. The fact you showed up and painted on a day you didn’t really feel like painting is a victory, and you should be focusing on that. Heck, I only draw about twice a year anyway, so give yourself a pat on the back for your staying power. 🙌
Wow, just wow! This is so interesting to see. The process, the feeling, the honesty, it makes me see art and paintings in a totally new and more appreciative way. Thanks for making this video, I learned so much. 👏🏼
Ohhh this video is just exactly the encouragement i needed to jump back in today. I have been working on practicing art daily, but stepped away over the holidays. Now I’m all in a funk and free ling that rusty blockage like you mentioned. I love how you articulate your emotional place within your art practice. Your descriptive language is very helpful to me. I love how you said you really wanted to “show up for yourself” on the day you didn’t feel like painting and pressed through Great video. Thank you. I’m so glad I happened upon this this morning 😊
Your paintings are an inspiration to me. Incredible work and I’ve just got my 1st ever gouache pallets (A Himi jelly 24 nouveau set and Himi 12 palette set).
I feel like each painting was a little masterpiece! Really beautiful work. I’m also a big lover of color, I’m a real rainbow chaser and keep trying to limit my palate but then I want to bring all the colors in (I can’t help myself😅)
Love the fact that you used jelly gouache instead of the really expensive jelly gouache I feel like I need more videos using the jelly paint so that I can learn more how to use my large set of jelly gouache paints. ❤😊 love these beautiful paintings 😍
i love this video and i love your style!!! something i am trying to do is daily art, no matter if that is big or small, perfect or not. this video was inspiring
Thank you for being so candid with your honest feelings throughout the days working on this project! I really hope this video is seen widely by young artists. Fear of a blank page, understanding and embracing the limits of space- and then the choices to add the unexpected- painting over a crease 'out of the boundaries', the subjects chosen- I'm floored! We try in art ed to preach to so much of what you were able to communicate in a short video, kudos to you. I found myself sort of story lining as new images were created, clearly your art tells a story. Happily subscribed just now, I can't wait to see your next adventure. Well done!
This is the first video of yours I’ve watched and I loved every minute of it❤ your art is beautiful, so inspiring for me. I struggle with my art not because I’m a perfectionist (I threw all perfectionism away quite a while ago ) but because I’m a mom and have a habit of multitasking. Believe it or not, this woke me up and I realized if I want to make good art I’m going to have to dedicate all of myself to it! Thank you for sharing 😊 new subscriber ❤
Thanks so much for sharing this, I love that you had this realization! Good luck, I'm excited for all the art you will create :) and thank you so much for subscribing 🥰
This video was so satisfying to watch! I’m just getting into learning to properly sketch and paint. This idea of filling up a sketchbook and not worrying about it being perfect is great. Also your illustrations are beautiful! Please keep sharing content ❤
I'm doing this with a "traditional" sketchbook as a way to ease into 2023! Letting go of getting things "just right" and not to scrap pics you're not happy with can be such a challenge 😭 Yours looks amazing, keep up the good work!
I really want to try monochromatic portraits. I've always been too afraid to try portraits and I feel like the monochrome style will help with depth and lighting so much. This was so inspirational. Thank you!
I loved this video, it has really inspired me to do the same! I definitely have a tendency to underestimate the importance of painting everyday (or as much as possible) and tackling little projects like that seems like a great way to get back into this habit of taking care of my craft. Thank you for posting this video, it was very inspiring, calming and captivating. I could relate to a lot if not all of what you were talking about and it has motivated me a lot!
i love everything about this! I wish I could see the references too, to understand the process of how you "adapt" them into your style. however the sketchbook is adorable and the illustrations are amazing!
"I want to use all the colours" hahaha - that's me! God I love watching you paint. It's almost 11pm here in Oz and this is the perfect end to the day. Thank you x
I really love your insight and transparency. Thank you for sharing your journey through this sketchbook and inspiring me to not be a perfectionist when it comes to my art. I'm so glad you pushed through the hard days to make such lovely paintings!
Wow these are beautiful and I love the clouds!! Amazing and inspiring work. I also love the Studio Ghibli one too (pronounced like Jib and not gib ) the Joker painting is an incredible likeness! Thank you so much for inspiring me to paint more 😊
I just stumbled across this vid at the perfect time. I hadn't done much drawing over the past year or more really, and a few days ago I decided to just fill a page with some portrait studies and to try be a bit more loose and lose the perfectionism a bit and Ive been really enjoying it. I loved how you said the best feeling was feeling the confidence coming back 🫶 so true thanks for posting this 🩷🩷🩷
Your sketchbook is sooo beautiful! This inspired me to draw and design for fun/ enjoyment, instead of for work. ( I’m a jewelry designer) ALSO, I totally understand wanting to rip out something your unsatisfied with. That’s how I feel when drawing, planning and even writing. Lol Great upload 💗 Sooooo talented
I find it funny how people get confused with a portfolio and a sketch book, your right a sketch book is a way of finding your style, so its not going to be perfect at all, however I think people quite rightly get confused depending on peoples skill and talent and my God you are soooooooo talented, you really had no need to be upset with your sky painting, skies are the most difficult thing to paint Canaletto made a whole art in itself out of it, check out his books if you haven't, he's one of the old artists, but he made skies more competent to do. But I loved the colors you chose it relaxed my eyes so much. You could sell that sketch bookend people will give you money for it, cause I would. You really understand puttingg down the initial color of the object first and then doing the dark and then light highlights, Im going to learn a lot from your journey. x
These are AMAZING. I rarely see artists brave enough to show things they are unsatisfied with. Kudos!!! Also love seeing you not being afraid to paint on the bent part of the paper. I feel it makes everything more dynamic!!
thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words :)
Wow 😍 all these paintings look so incredible seeing them together in an accordion sketchbook ✨
thank you so much, loved using this sketchbook because I could see everything as i painted 😄
Kinda nice to be here before your channel completely blows up. You're a wonderful artist.
This is so lovely, thank you so much 🥰
I love the little pigeons in love!!! They’re so cute and wholesome ❤❤❤
I really enjoyed your paintings. I think if they taught gouache painting to kids at school, then the world would be a happier place.
These are so beautiful!! I love how you changed the style of the orange painting. I don't have balls to do that. I also completely understand the point about loving colors. It's hard for me to stick to a limited palette as well!!
thank you so much :) it is so hard to stick to a limited palette 😅
Feel relaxed and released😄THANK YOU!
I watched all the way to the end. I loved the fact you didn't just stick to one thing. You just went with the flow. It was a lovely experiment to see unfold. Well done. It's a beautiful journal.
So relaxing. Your sketchbook is absolutely beautiful!
thank you so much!! :)

Congrats on getting back to the art. Thank you for the inspiration!
So so beautiful! I am working on monochromatic illustrations, and this helped inspire me so much ❤ I really appreciate not only your art, but your positive words, music and thoughts!
thank you for this lovely comment Angie 🥰 Yess, I love how monochromatic studies look!
What a stunning piece of work! I just stumbled on this video and I’m so glad I did. You’re such a talented painter. Thanks for sharing!
It is like the stream of unconsciousness. Random ideas flow.. when you filled the last blank on the paper, I felt accomplished as well 😊👍
Videos like that make me so inspired 😻
Yay! Love it ❤️
Very interesting, the clouds was one of my favorites. It is very dramatic almost theatrical. Loved it.
It's the middle of the night and I just watched this whole video. It was nice and calming. You're so good. I actually like the clouds. It looks great. You're amazing
This turned out so cool! I especially love the pigeons and the chili heart 🥰
Such an inspiring idea 😍 I loved your art and the narration was so interesting and to the point ✨
So inspiring. I'm thinking of making February "experiment month" as I'm a bit stuck on comfort zone stuff. Thanks for sharing this process.
