Hey Sergey. Thanks much for your videos. I am an America who lived in Petersburg 2002-2007, where I taught English and studied Russian history and language. I lived on Nevsky near Ploshad Bosstania about 1 1/2 years, and then on Ulitsa Basseynaya across from Park Pobedie about 3 1/2 years. Actually, I am homesick for Petersburg. I appreciate your love and enthusiasm for your city, your knowledge and sense of humor. Best wishes.
During the Cold War, I never could have imagined seeing these places. When I visit a place, I like to think I have seen all aspects of it. Your content is unique and interesting. Keep up the good work, and disregard the "Social media Experts" who leave bad comments.
Well done. It is very interesting to see the inside courtyards of St. Petersburg architecture. A behind-the-scenes view. Proud to help with Patreon. 😎👍
When you take me through Saint Peterburg with your camera I can see where my Great Grandpa walked before he had to leave. Thank you for this and all your videos. Totally awesome brat.
I love this channel. I subscribe to many channels but I get most excited by the videos you produce and provide to us. Thank you for further educating me about your wonderful country. ✌🏻 . I hope to visit again soon. Love always from США ❤️ 👋 ~ Лоренс
Another interesting and informative video. Thank you Sergey! Keep it up I'm learning more and more about your great city (and country) with every one of your videos. I can't wait for your next one. With Lots of Love from the great Midwest.💜
I just discovered your channel from Mark Wein's (sorry if I misspelled that) and omg I've always been curious about Russian food and lifestyle in the city. Your channel opens up my little world to a window of yours. Much love from Malaysia.
I love your videos. We visited St. Petersburg once and plan to again. What a charming city, even its hidden places. You are providing viewers a great service. Thanks!
Really liked this, it is interesting to see how things look, I always see the courtyards and wonder where the cars go to park their. I love like the history of it all.
The most interesting thing in St. Petersburg courtyards is that walking along them, with the same probability, you can accidentally wander into a claustrophobic little well, or into a real palace. For example, Fontanka 85 or Tolstoy House. Thank you for the video. I really look forward to the plot about the Petrograd district and its architecture and places. It seems to me that this is a very underrated area by guests of the city.
“Though I don’t think I became less (of a) douchebag than I was before ....” 😁😅 Great stuff = why I pay attention to your every word. No, you’re not a douchebag, Sergey, you’re a cool cat 😎 in my book!
Interesting architecture for that time in history. Your explanation, with the drone footage, made it easy to understand. Once more, thanks for sharing a bit of the downside of St. Petersburg. Every great city in the world has them. P.S. You were never a douchebag, so stop being so hard on yourself. Continue making great and interesting videos for us wannabees. Заботиться о себе. 👍
Thank you for the interesting video. I thought something is missing, graffiti, Melbourne is covered in graffiti. also I able to get some music scores from 26 Nevsky Prospect, thanks to you. Kind regards.
Interesting video. I'm curious, what happens when it snows very heavily? IF that part of the country does snow heavily that is. I would think snow building up inside those courtyards would eat away at the integrity of the structures.
Hey Sergey, Great content as usual so thank you for that. Could you tell me if there are any local websites with real estate property prices for these types of apartments
Hi Sergey. First of all, I enjoyed this video as always. Second, you are not a douche bag, however, whoever said that might be one? Also, I have a musician friend who lives there. He said he grew up in the Vyborgsky district but now lives in the Ligovo district. He mentioned that the Petrogradsky district is pretty cool too. Might be cool to see some videos on these areas?
Zdrastvy Sergey, you didn't mention the elevator shafts hat are being installed at some the old buildings. As there is no room inside the buildings themselves, they just attach them to the outside in the courtyards, it may look strange to some people but it sure is a welcome addition for some of the older people who may have difficulty walking up and down 4-6 flights of stairs.
Excellent video Sergey, it cannot be easy to fly that drone in that area ! Yardwells is a great name for these spaces, but makes one wonder about drainage, lol ! 😂. I also notice these are red brick so called 'tartarian' type buildings. So old and most are holding together quite well with little maintenance over the 100+ years ! Thanks again from Canada ✌️🇨🇦❤️
Sergey, I will have to make another trip to Russia and visit you and St. Peterborough. I'd like to see Ufa to your home city. This will take a lot of planning as I'd like to visit Chernobyl as well. Ahhh so many beautiful places to see, thanks again for a wonderful video. Пока))
So you've never been to Kiev or Lviv. They have the same. It is not so unusual. I even saw it in eastern Poland. I've seen as a tourist the courtyards of St. Petersburg and I was not so impressed. Many have huge heaps of rubble like the building had been bombed. That was along Nevsky Prospekt.
I stayed in an apartment inside one of those arches to a courtyard, a very crappy, shabby one, even worse than what you showed here. All the electrical lines attached to the walls, garbage deposit places, close to Nevsky. But I loved it. Just like your douche bag LOLOLOL
There is a lot of potential for redevelopment of the yard wells, but the front and exterior facades probably will always take precedent when it comes to renovation of large buildings. Same thing here, it comes down to the money. Still, St. Petersburg is magnificent!
@Mor Dor I figure that's not too different then the US. The difference being the US wont's rent, water, phone, gas, and internet so the people stay poor and can't afford to move out.
For some reason the whole video I was thinking about the strategical advantages such courtyards would provide to defenders in a case of zombie apocalypse :)
"Restored" is the word, not "restorated." I do that because I like you and you are on the road to being a bigshot. The courtyards are all clean and free of clutter. I know car parking is a priority, but I would like to see additional outdoor living space on a few. Like Spanish courtyards and patios.
I want you to keep sane and making videos, Please block and report TROLLS!!these trolls are jealous of your creativity and positive engagement with people.... Sergey try to not think of the disgusting words they say. Peace!!
Sergey, don't pay any attention to the idiots that don't seem to understand the title of your video blog = Real Russia! Real Russia means you show everything, but who really wants to look at depressing images all day? What those people do not understand is that there are many places just like that in the US. No country is perfect, including Russia, but Russia and everyday Russians are still wonderful! Those people also do not understand what it takes to shoot these videos. It doesn't just happen by magic!
У тебя классный канал. Я захотел подписаться на патреон, но у тебя там зачем-то стоит коммунистический символ. Это очень тупо. Ссср был антирусский проект. Смени и у тебя будет больше подписчиков на патреоне.

I thought that was very cool! Right in line with your original no fake, no bullshit mantra. Nice video Sergey!

Thank you for the interesting video. I thought something is missing, graffiti, Melbourne is covered in graffiti. also I able to get some music scores from 26 Nevsky Prospect, thanks to you. Kind regards.
Very interesting. I did't know that. It looks like parking is at a premium. They seem to be parked all over the sidewalks.
fascinating
Excellent brotha! Hi from Tennessee!
"Cheers From 'Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. 🇺🇸'..!!" 👋
interesting courtyards. surprised that some of these do not have parks inside.
Very cool stuff as always 👍
I saw one while I was there. Stayed in an Airbnb that had a courtyard.
Interesting video.
I'm curious, what happens when it snows very heavily? IF that part of the country does snow heavily that is. I would think snow building up inside those courtyards would eat away at the integrity of the structures.
Sergey, would it be possible sometime for you to visit the Cruiser Aurora museum ship?
Good job wow!

Petrogradsky is the best, I think.
Thanks for enjoying watching me!
ur camera quality is very nice
keep up good work
To fly in St Petersburg with a drone do you need a permit or is it ok with no penalties?
Zdrastvy Sergey, you didn't mention the elevator shafts hat are being installed at some the old buildings. As there is no room inside the buildings themselves, they just attach them to the outside in the courtyards, it may look strange to some people but it sure is a welcome addition for some of the older people who may have difficulty walking up and down 4-6 flights of stairs.
Lol, you're amazing Sergey

Always interesting to see you and Russia!😀
Ещё раз, хорошего видео. Я хочу видеть " famous church" с много цветов. Спасибо Сергей..✌
I'm seeing this to deepen my understanding of crime and punishment, thank you.
Great Video Of Russian Court Yards, I have always been interested in why they named them, well now i know. Take care Sergey
Also allows sunlight in the back windows ......I am surprised they allow drones in a dense urban area.

Chernobyl is far from St. Petersburg and it is a different state. You need to go to the city of Kyev in Ukraine.
would be cool to have a map ...
I noticed grbage and bins for garbage. Do they use large trucks to pick it up. Hor do they handle tee garbage?
Curious about did the Russians rebuild St. Petersburg in the way of Peter the Great design after the blockade and battle of St. Petersburg?
The USA has buildings like that too. The new stuff is built around it
Beautiful russia 🇷🇺❤🇷🇺❤
Really interesting, I've never seen any buildings like it before.

So much to love about Saint Petersburg,my most favourite city in Europe.
The down vote must live in Moscow. Great video!

Sergey...where is the Snow?

Thank you for your post, Hope you and your family are doing well.
If you ware to guess how many buildings are owned by the Government?
@Mor Dor I figure that's not too different then the US. The difference being the US wont's rent, water, phone, gas, and internet so the people stay poor and can't afford to move out.
@@SQSNSQ Thank you for your reply
@@SQSNSQ Sorry, My misunderstanding of the word free.
I finally saw the video explaining what happened with Pichugen.
So sad to see that, he not only stole your camera, he stole your heart and trust!
My apartment on Bolshaya Morskays had the courtyard. :)
For some reason the whole video I was thinking about the strategical advantages such courtyards would provide to defenders in a case of zombie apocalypse :)
Please someone explain GOPNIK
