What an extraordinary opportunity to tour the palace that is ordinarily teeming with tourists. Thank you for the glimpse inside this amazing structure.
I love the warm blues, reds and greens! The amber room is exquisite. A true national treasure. I'm happy the people can enjoy a good life in the surrounding town.
OMG Sergei, what a beautiful Palace and the amber room, absolutely amazing, I could spend all day in that palace, there is so much to see, so much details! One day I will make it to St Petersburg. Once again, thank you Sergei!
that palace and amber room are amazing and unique. the coronavirus is not to be taken lightly...it will affect the world economy and jobs for millions of people even in countries with no infection. already it is impacting the tourism in your country in a negative way and it is only at the begining. thank you for taking us along in places we might never be able to visit in person.
Hello Sergey: I'm happy you finally got snow, I know you have been waiting for it. Words cannot describe the stunning beauty of the palace. The Amber room is so beautiful. I love the Turquoise colour of the other buildings.
I truly enjoyed this video. I travelled from the USA to Moscow, Novgorod, and St. Petersburg in late September 2018. I thought I came after the tourist crush. Sadly there were so many Chinese tourists there it made viewing the palaces difficult. Thanks for your private showing. I wish the Chinese good luck at this hard time. Loved visiting Russia. Always nice people.
Great video Sergey! The Amber Room is top of my list of places to see! Beautiful palace! I have to study more about Pushkin! Seems like a great city to visit! Thank you Sergey! You make my heart sing with these videos of your homeland!
@CWW Before Chinese get mad, This video was making the rounds in Russia. Where chinese people were basically mocking Russians for alcoholism issues near the border town of China and Russia. So....meh. ua-cam.com/video/xdeoUOuqDhg/v-deo.html
Wow I’ve heard of the Amber Room for years. Seeing it took my breath away! And “I’m a big guy- now I need to become a Big Shot!” 😂 Sergey you crack me up!! 😁 Another amazing tour! .. Jim from California..
Hey Sergey!! I've been following you ever since and I'm so happy because I got my scholarship for St. Petersburg this year, starting in September and lasting 12 months!! :)) Greetings from Germany, your videos are the best!! Xx
Its marvelous and stunning palace , Catherine the Great , i have visited this almost 8 years ago , but i missed that amber and now goes to you for this share it with us
I have a lot of amber jewelry from Austria and Germany that was bought right after the end of WWII. Now I'm kinda woundering if some of it might have been from the amber room. I have had a jeweler tell me it was old.
That was Amazing! The amber room. I didn't know that the original was stolen! I know a mouse once stole my amber ring! I can't sleep with jewelry on, and I was warned that the mice may take it. Thank you for this little tour, and nice that you have a visitor with you. Hi Ken
Wow! The images were GORGEOUS! Like being there! Amazing:) Thank you so much for a taste of where Katherine the Great lived, who brought my ancestors to 🇷🇺 (Saratov). Later they came to the USA but I really want to see St. Petersburg. Thank you Sergey!
I waited for this video and I'm glad you finally visited my hometown! You definitely should take your friends here in the summer, the park is beautiful and Alexander's park (next to Catherine's palace and park) is great too. And don't miss the Pavlovsk palace and park, it's really impresses you! Nevertheless I didn't visited The Palace since I was a school girl (shame on me)...
WOW, absolutely beautiful, especially the Amber Room. I have to add that I understand why the Russian peasants revolted seeing that they lived in abject poverty while the Russian Court lived in luxury.
Do you think there was a free entrance for the poor at that time? How could they know how aristocrats live? Maybe the poor saw all this on the Internet?)))Why were there no uprisings in other countries? Did the aristocrats of other countries live worse than the common people? Don't be silly. The revolution in Russia took place for a very different reason.
Beautiful! Catherine the Great. The Last Great Ruler of all the Russia's. This woman was amazing. She opened up Russia to all the world. She didn't have her citizens thrown off balconies or poisoned. She brought the arts & sciences to them.
Great job Sergey showing the amber room. During the summer Catherine's Palace is packed, hundreds of people everywhere, in front, around you and behind you, that is true what he says, the only bad thing about visiting the Palace in the winter time, is that you don't get to see the beautiful grounds/gardens, with the fountains on. I loved my visit to Catherine's Palace in Pushin/Tzarskoe Selo.
I was lucky enough to visit in Jan 2019, and it was reasonably quiet but nothing like this! So jealous! I took a couple of photos of the amber room from the doorway but was reprimanded by the attendant. Thanks for the wonderful reminder of how it looks.
Sergey I was In Leningrad in the early seventies. We were shown an Amber room in the Winter Place, they were still restoring it. Were there two Amber rooms? We were touring the Hermitage. You now have snow we having very cold weather. Some snow but it suppose to rain tomorrow. It’s quite the mystery where the original Amber room is. Enjoyed your video.
Really enjoyable. Thanks. That thing about about the coronavirus is really really fascinating, I knew Russia closed all its borders off (?pretty much), but this video really brought home the world situation with a threat of an epidemic. The reality of It sinks deeply into one's mind and thoughts. I kept thinking if not for the virus, there was no way one can even begin to see that room so completely and carefully. there would just be tons of people all around blocking the view.
It's much possible that just a few palaces throughout the whole world that cannot be considered like simple huts if you compare it with russian palaces. Impressive.
Many years ago we were the first tour of the day which resulted in an amazing visit to this Palace without many people around. Add it to your bucket list.
Wow! That Grand Catherine Palace is stunning! There are so many stunningly beautiful places in Russia! Ken, you are very lucky! I'm sure you realize how special it is to have Russian friends like Sergey and others. Sergey is a great host, I can tell. To bad I will never get to visit Russia and more importantly visit Sergey and his lovely family along with my other acquaintances and friends there. At least we can communicate by email and skype and such. Hey Sergey, you already are a "big shot",but in a good way. You are a great vlogger generous in showing us the real Russia. You also have good company with some other vloggers that do the same such as Valeria at Different Russia channel and Tanya (when she can). I really appreciate all the effort you do! (That is part of reason I am patreon, but more so just because I appreciate you and your family).
How man!? Last year, when I visited, it was prohibited to capture photos or videos of Amber room... My guide told me that if I did take any, need to pay fine. (maybe 5000 rub).
The photos aren't the problem, it's due to the camera flashes tourists use, thousands of bright flashes over time can actually deteriorate paintings/decor and there are usually several hundreds of people there in just one day, so it's not unusual and understandable to have a ban on photography in most historical buildings, though you can get permission to film.
The palace is so gorgeous. I notice in St Petersburg and other places that many of the buildings are painted in bright colors. Is this to give color to make the winters more beautiful?
AWESOME video. Looks like corona outbreak was good for SOMETHING. That amber room was unbelievable! I never heard of it. It's a THING for me now. I'm totally gonna obsess on it, I can tell. And...NIRVANA RULES!!!!🤘
You will not even have enough months if you stop at each exhibit for at least 30 seconds to examine it. If you run through all the halls, you will need a couple of days.))
There is very Good restaurant near this Pushkin town named like Podvire Restaurant which one of its kind and famous for its Russian food cusine , if you would go there and make review for us i will hight grateful
hello mr. Sergey Baklykov. I enjoyed this video about the Amber Room I saw a Doc. Video about this on TV a while back. They say it may have been destroyed by the Red Army by accident when it was being stored in the city of Kaliningrad when fighting the German Army so sad! I hope you do a trip to Kalininggrad one day in the future. I see you are not doing much videos any more I wish you well when making future videos, sincerely, mr. Michael from Texas USofA...
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. I'm not sure who sponsored that documentary made saying it's Res Army destroyed the Amber Room. Yes, I don't do as much videos now as used to before. But that's because you guys won't support me. You say go to Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Novosibirsk but nobody wants to contribute. My Patreon is almost not growing. So I do as much as budget let it go. Not blaming. Just saying.

WOW, absolutely beautiful, especially the Amber Room. I have to add that I understand why the Russian peasants revolted seeing that they lived in abject poverty while the Russian Court lived in luxury.
Just like today, 40 million poor Americans and 2% of multi-billionaires.

Maybe the poor saw all this on the Internet?)))Why were there no uprisings in other countries? Did the aristocrats of other countries live worse than the common people? Aley I doubt 2% of the population are multi-billionaires. 😆
It wasn't peasants who managed the revolt though.
Omg! Haha. Logical... not.

Also told off for taking a photo of the amber room...and was only allowed to look in from the doorway. Fantastic place. Must visit again.
Maybe those days was different rules.
This beautiful place is unreal...am I dreaming?...
Nope

When you see the fabulous opulence of the palaces of the Tsars while the people had nothing, you can understand why there was a revolution.
That ballroom is breath taking. I remember being there twice
Beautiful, Sergey, thanks! Cheers from Chile!
Cheers from Russia!
Thank you so much Sergey!
You're welcome and thank you too for watching, Wendy!
We were there a year ago, fantastic country, highly recommend visiting.

So many beautiful buildings in Russia, awesome
So welcome to St Petersburg, Russia to enjoy an architecture!

That's because you were in Tourist season more than likely. They dont allow that when there is crowds and so on. Otherwise there would be crowding.
Sergey is a big shot so they let him film!
Tanya Houston lol
Maybe you caught the last chance to visit the place at all for a long time
It's good to see it has been recreated.
Wish you would have walked over to the Alexander Palace and the Feodorovsky Sobor. Still, great tour!
Amazing palace simply beautiful another video well done my friend.) The virus is no joke Thousands are already dead and 400,000 are in quarantine
