Your wife is exactly right. We tend to take all the beautiful old buildings and our glorious countryside for granted because we have grown up with it. Marvellous to witness someone seeing it for the first time. Her reaction should remind us all to appreciate how lucky we are !

The Church is positioned that way because all Churches run west to east with the east window directly above the Altar.

One of my best memories is of coming out of a pub in a cellar in York opposite the Minster just before Christmas about 30 years ago. It had started snowing and everything was covered, there was a beautiful Christmas tree all lit up and a choir singing underneath it just as it was getting dark. Absolutely stunning. York is an amazing place and the people are great too.

I'm a very proud Welshman and a very proud Brit. I'm proud of our history, culture, customs, architecture, languages, countryside, (some) cities, just everything that we should hold dear. We love to share what we have with the world as we have so much to offer, but!! I hate the way our country is going at the moment. It's like it's all under attack and being scrutinised for our very vibrant and some points dark history. This is what made our great nation. We can't re write hitory or change it, but learn from it and move forward. At the moment, though, I am screaming inside. This video was so wholesome to watch. It was nice to see genuine, heartfely reactions for our amazing country. I'm a little gutted there was no mention of Wales in this top 10, though, haha.

Hi, Non-Brit here. I'm guessing that they will do a separate video on Wales alone. From all I heard it's beautiful there. It's on DH's and my to see list.
Unfortunately we up here in Sweden we're seeing the same types of feelings, but for a different topic. We never had any part (as far as I know) in the mass-relocation from one continent to another, but we do have quite a few snowflakes and wokerism leanings, I'm afraid. Yours, Ann

Lindsey, it's not silly to cry at all. It's an honest human emotion. I'm English born and bred, I'm 47 years old and I still shed tears when I see a lot of the beauty in videos like the one your reacting to.
Your correct in saying some people here no longer see the beauty because they just walk past it every day so have become immune to it but there are others like myself who still recognise things around us as beautiful.
I personally love visiting different cathedrals and I live about halfway between York minster and Lincoln cathedral if you go in a straight line. Both of them are some of the largest in the UK and are awe inspiring when you see them with your own eyes.

York always feels like home to me. I am a Yorkshireman who lives in Glasgow, but York just feels amazing, there's a feeling about the whole city. I love how they don't have the horrible bright modern streetlights and still use some gas lighting. It really changes how it feels at night, as if it could be 100 years ago or further back in time. It's so hard to describe, but an evening stroll around York on a nice late summer or autumn night is really pleasant. Then stopping off at one of the many VERY old pubs for a nice fresh ale! Golden Fleece is one of my favourite places in York

The London shots included St Paul’s Cathedral. If the iconic WWII US pic is raising the flag at Iwo Jima, then probably the UK equivalent is St Paul’s dome rising through the smoke and destruction of the Blitz (Sept ‘40 > May ‘41).

The outside is fashioned as an Indian Palace, complete with onion shaped domes and minarets that are actually the disguised chimneys.
The inside is decorated as a chinese building complete with fake bamboo handrails on the staircase , which are made of wrought iron and at least one absolutely massive chinese dragon on the ceiling of the music room.

Also I hate stonehenge due to traffic and rubber necking on the only road that goes there the A303. it's a 50mph zone but you go 2mph because of everyone slowing down to look at it.

My cousin's company won the contract for Hampton court restoration, made up of different court yards were where people would play real tennis. My cousin was working on the ceilings made of wooden beam, he found loads of round objects that turned to dust if you touched them. So he called the curator to deal with the and identify what they were, they turned out to be tennis balls that got stuck in the ceilings, and in this certain court no one was allowed to play tennis except for king Henry the eighth..

When people here in the US ask me where to visit in England, I always put York as the number 1 place. Yes, London has all the attractions, but it's a HUGE city and that would be like going to New York - very busy and most of the people don't have time for you because you are a tourist. York is a place to spend at least 3 days and take your time. The medieval city wall still exists - about 2/3 of it anyway. It is landscaped and you can walk along it. Every so often, there are watch towers that you can investigate. Everything inside the city wall has a preservation order, so it has to be maintained in the form that it was built in. Which means that repairs can be very expensive because you probably need a specialist craftsman. There are also a lot of bed and breakfast places, so you don't have to stay in a hotel. Seriously guys, take a trip to the UK and put york way up on your list of places to visit.

It is impossible to have a list of top 10 for England. Even a top 100 would be stretching it. There is so much to see.
The first time that my Spanish friend visited me was in February. It was a typical, miserable February - to me. To him, it was an amazing time and place. As I drove from the airport to the hotel where we spent the first night, he said, over and over, "everywhere is so green!" It made me take a second look, and I realised how much I took everything for granted. Every day he opened my eyes to things that I'd seen so often that I no longer saw them.

What a truly lovely video you two have made here.
Knowing what you have said about Lyndsay's Cornish background it might be worth checking out anything about the South West Coast Path. At well over 600 miles long it is the UK's longest public footpath and may well be the longest in the world. It includes the whole of Devon and Cornwall's aesthetic coast which is certainly up there with the Jurassic coast and includes the City of Exeter.
Exeter is known for it's huge range of architectural buildings with every style from the last 500 years present, certainly worth a look.
As for crying - I no doubt most of us Brits would be moved to tears by some of the sights of Niagra, the Appalatians, the Everglades, Arizona and Alaska. We would be bowled over in awe of stuff like that so no surprises to see it the other way around.
As a family you are turning out fantastic videos - please keep them coming.

The Science, Natural history, British museum, Imperial War, Victoria & Albert and the Maritime museum are all fascinating and all free to enter. Then there's the National and the Tate art galleries as well. Although you have to pay to enter the Tower of London, it is well worth a visit, with countless more as well. Omg your wife has such a beautiful energy, tell her not to be embarrassed about crying she was embracing the beauty of our architecture and old buildings something us brits take advantage of. Our country is very beautiful and I love both your reactions to the different places across England. I myself don’t live that far away from Chester I can honestly say you would love it there . Thanks again for your videos, please bring your wife on again now and then love to see her and your daughter enjoying our country and also the candies etc .

I feel we as a nation - a lot of pride in England isn't there too much anymore (especially with the world as it is right now) but living in Gloustershire, i often walk around seeing these old historical buildings always grounds me and makes me just take a breath, step back and appreciate our country and its history so much!

You should react to Clovelly in Devon, England. It's a really steep cobbled village that leads down to a small fishing harbour. It's so steep that they have sledges to pull/lower their goods and it's like a living museum; the village is owned by one family. It's a beautiful place!

London was ALWAYS the greatest city on the planet you just wouldn't believe the sheer history both open obvious and hidden, it'd truly amazing, again it breaks my heart for instance my childhood part of London just dont exist anymore, from just 30 years ago, it's simply gone. I have my wonderful memories. We built a truly spectacular city. And I so loved it.

Lindsay, you are precious! It's not silly for you to be moved to tears by beauty. It's natural and heartily appreciated. We don't build like this these days for a second reason other than having lost some of the skills needed to do so. The cost to create something like York Minster Cathedral nowadays would be prohibitive to say the least! In the time that they were built, stonemasons, carpenters and artists took years to create them.

Hey guys, just to let you know the image at the very start is Glastonbury Tor, just up the road from me. Its one of the most spiritual places in England. I'd really recommend watching any vids you can find about it. So much history & myth associated with it. Keep up the fantastic reactions :D (It would be the perfect place for Lindsey as most of the shops sell crystals & gemstones.)
