- Every burger doesn’t have to be made of ground beef. One way to switch things up is by using Bison. It’s leaner, if you want a bit less fat in your burger, and, to me, gives all the flavor beef has, and more.

Burger is pretty as a picture RY !!!! Just curious why 7 ounces and not 8? You have one 16ounces why not just make it half?? Anyway not knocking anything because the burger looks great just curious keep up the great vids

When I smoke a burger I do it as low as I can so I can smoke for 2 hours. I just don't get much smoke flavor from short smokes and just feels like a wasted effort.
Since you only made just one, I’m guessing it’s a real gamy taste. I never had Bison. I have have had an Emu Burger though. Its healthy and not to gamy tasting.

I second that... bison is not gamey... it reminds me of the way beef tasted way back when before they started improperly feeding cattle! But then again, I don't find Elk to be gamey either... lol!
Sorry Ry.... but I have to give you a D- in the condiment helpings. You're going to make a 7oz+ lean bison burger, but lace it with condiments that might well not be there(McDonalds has bigger LTO sides in theirs, the cheese was thickest)come'on now. How can you do BISON like that. Sauce is not that burger. You could have made 3 burgers with the stingy condiments. I dont think Ive ever been on the lean side side of your cooks..., but RY but this one is borderline smoking bbq robbery. That's a Millennial burger, I could have put all those condiments in a single street taco.
Well I make it the way I like it. Maybe you can make it the way you like it. Isn’t that the way cooking should be? What each individual enjoys? You might also consider that some people can’t tolerate a lot of certain things. I’m lactose intolerant so cheese is usually used sparingly.
