Andrew Bynum was injuries that entire series he was apart of the reason our team up great SIZE n he gave us a twin tower dou with him and pau so don't come talkin bout perk getting injured
The thing about the Draymond suspension is that it is not an injury. It was completely within his control. LeBron drew the tech. Everyone knew Draymond would be suspended with one more tech or flagrant. Because of this it is not comparable to injuries in other series.
In terms of a comeback I would say the 2016 Cavs They had this flat earther called Kyrie And This second greatest player of all time LeBron James and someone else who change his game for LeBron
It was insane how dominant that 2017 warriors team was.. I remember on Martin Luther King day when they just destroyed Cleveland after that Christmas day game and ppl were questioning if the warriors could really beat them in a finals rematch.. whether you were a fan of their dynasty or not, they played some seriously incredible basketball.
Asmosis Jones not just his scoring, but also his amazing defense which anchored the Celtics inside defense. He provided toughness and grittiness which helped the Celtics a lot in that series which was a very tough sluggish defensive series.
Yeah, they had one of the greatest games of all time, and one of the most important rings of all time especially for LeBron's legacy, but as an actual team they're getting smoked by almost everyone in front of them if you put them in a playoffs series. Mavs and Lakers are competitive. Heat, Spurs and GSW destroy them.
Though you are right, Bogut isn't that big a factor and Draymond still played great after coming back in games they lost. Cavs also lost K Love who was on a minutes restriction.
Damilola Ketiku You’re obviously not ranking the best teams. The Mavs run was special, but they’re not better than the ‘17 & ‘18 Warriors. And Spurs #1? Okay lol
I completely agree with putting the Cavs as low as you did, they are not among the best teams in the 2010s even though they were an amazing team we just had some HISTORIC teams in the 2010s.
Dude, I totally agree with your logic, I debate with people all the time about who was better in the NBA player an team wise and people always make up their own history and forget what really went down. Great work!!
An awesome list to debate would be "rank every team that lost in their only Finals appearances from worst to best". That would mean ranking Barkley's Suns, Ewing's Knicks, the Jazz, the Thunder, the GP Sonics, etc.
I’d have the Mavs at 10. Their playoff run was undeniably great, but I could not say they were an overall better team than say, the 2014-15 Warriors just because they faced better competition, which a team can’t control, when the Warriors handled who was in front of them and had a far better regular season
the 2017 warriors are easily number 1 all time great offense great defense great ball moment and team chemistry 67-15 regular season 16-1 playoffs and there playoff differential was second all time
As a Spurs fan, the 2016-2017 team not winning a title will be our biggest regret ever. Talent-wise from top to bottom that team was better than '14. After a disappointing loss to OKC in 2015-2016, we got deeper and more athletic with bench improvements like Jonathan Simmons and Dejounte Murray, they ended up leading us to an elimination game win IN Houston without Kawhi. Aldridge had a full season to get more comfortable and efficient with the system, and of course Kawhi upped his game even further. Game 1 of the following WCF is probably the biggest tragedy in Spurs history.
I'd put the 2015 Warriors a bit higher. Lets not forget how competitive the West was then. The Spurs, Clippers, Rockets, Trail Blazers and Grizzlies all stood tall. The Conference Finals of that year was underrated.
Why we gotta discredit the cavs comeback? Cavs still won 3 of four games against draymond and he chose actions that got him suspended. Warriors only win because of injuries which aren’t chosen
The MAVS did not just come out of nowhere that year. They were a top team in the West in the early part of the season, until injuries hit them. Plus, they also played the Heat in the Finals while missing Caron.
I almost really hated your number 8 pick but the fact that you called out the 2015 warriors for barely beating what was left of the cavs made me okay with it lol. Good points, even though I find it hard to believe draymond made that much of an impact that he caused the warriors to get blown out in game 5. Not to mention they still had games 6 and 7 to close out the series. To hold it against the cavs for not looking great in the first two games is like holding it against the mavs for not looking great in the first 3 games against the heat in 2011.
Number one spot for me is a toss up between the 2011 Mavs and 2014 Spurs. Those two championship runs will always stand out to me because there wasn’t any star power, no flashyness, no gimmicks or over the top favoritism. Just Will, Determination, Grit and pure fundamental basketball.
The 2016 Cavs are slept on. People always bring up the Draymond suspension when it was for 1 game, they had Draymond for games 6 and 7 and lost. They did what nobody thought was possible and beat the best regular season team of all time 3 times in a row and beat them twice Oracle
OKC were the best team in 16' but when they were meant to close it out in game 6 they got on the wrong end of one of the greatest playoff performances ever from Klay. They panicked when Klay starting hitting shots without looking at the basket Golden State were able to steal the series.
I disagree about what you said about the 2017 spurs vs the warriors. I believe that the spurs had a very good chance of beating the warriors in a 7 game series if Leonard didn't go out. If you first take into account what happened in the regular season that year, we saw that the spurs won 2-1 with 30 point blowouts, in the other, they lost by 12 (albeit by throwing away a 20 point lead in they had in the first quarter funnily enough). They had a team that could consistently play the warriors. Then look at game 1 of the series, they were up by about 20 at halftime and Leonard gets injured and they warriors win. You have to at least consider that if Leonard didn't get injured, the spurs would have at least won game 1. That would mean that the spurs would have stolen home court advantage away from the warriors and the spurs are such a good home team, especially in the playoffs. Would have turned into a different series. The warriors would have had to win 4 out of the next 6 games against the Kawhi and the spurs and that would have been very very difficult, even for the warriors. There is no way that you can say there was no chance that the spurs can win 4 games while healthy. Just sharing my opinion, like you said I could.
I agree. When Kawhi went down, the Spurs had no one to guard KD. In that sweep the Spurs always competed and gave the Warriors trouble. Kerr's solution is to isolate Durant on anyone guarding him. KD always shoot over the smaller guy or drove around the bigger guy. Against Kawhi he has to work doubly hard for his buckets which took much out of him. No wonder Pop was so pissed when Zaza injured #2. He knew he had no one to effectively guard KD one on one. While KD is special because of his length and scoring ability, Kawhi is much more a well rounded player because of his defensive instincts. #2 just knows how to win. Not can he only make a clutch shot, but a clutch play wheter it is a steal, a block or a rebound. KD just won when he joined the Warriors.
Man I feel like u disrespect the Raptors to much. I sincerely think that kawhi Leonard's performance during that playoff run was good enough to compete with this warriors team, even when healthy
People really downmplay the raptors fun. It’s honestly just sad. People forget Lowry was injured, raptors didn’t have anounby, and Kawhi wasn’t 100%. Raptors almost swept them with Klay. Klay was injured for half a game, not the entire series. Kevin Durant on that team is unfair. Raptors championship is so underrated. Nobody believed in them even with KD out
The 2019 Raptors should be at the bottom cuz the Warriors had way more injuries than only Kyrie being injured in the 2015 Cavs. The Warriors had Looney, KD, Curry, Cousins, And Klay injured at one point in the playoffs.
I have just seen your video about the 2010s MVP and this one. It’s funny because I totally agree with your ranking in both video ! I have to put a like
Dom u should rank every season from this decade. So u would probably give a recap of storylines from each year and give some highlights about each season Ik it would be a lot but it would be a great vid
2010- Kobe Bryant’s most important championship, very competitive 2011- Number 1 for me, Dirk had to go through Kobe, and KD in the playoffs, and Lebron in the finals 2012- Lebron’s first ring, and had one of the greatest games ever in game 6 against boston in the playoffs 2013- Competitive, and came down to the last shot, but wouldnt rank too high 2014- Not that competitive, Wade and Bosh were washed, and the spurs beat miami in 5 games 2015- Cleveland was honestly the better team, cuz Golden State came out of nowhere, and were able to beat a 1 man team. If Kyrie and Kevin Love were healthy, Cavs wouldve won 2016- An entire storyline, and a legendary comeback by the cavaliers. However, if Draymond didnt get injured in game 5, he would’ve been the difference maker for the warriors and would’ve given them a chance 2017- KD’s first ring, and everyone knew the warriors would win, Cavs managed to win 1 game, but everyone knew it was over before game 5 even started. 2018- Easily the least valuable championship of the decade, Warrioes had 4 allstars and a swept a 1 man team. It was like watching a 1 seed against an 8 seed. 2019- Raptors win their first title in franchise history, but KD’s injury is what hurt the warriors the most, and then Klay also getting injured in game 5. This ranks around the middle of the list
Love both your channels man. Keep up the excellent job of providing objective, informed takes that also come off as casual and conversational. My favorite NBA UA-camr. Always excited when I see a new video uploaded. Keep it up!
Let’s hope the 2020s go more of the way the first half of the 2010s went. The NBA needs to have a compelling season again. Hopefully that starts with next year’s season.
I think with how this FA rolled out, 2019-20 will be more interesting with a lot of narratives compared to when we had the Heat formed before the 2010-11 season.
I don't think the Raptors get enough credit... Nobody believed in them outside of Canada. Hell... Even here there was doubt. Lowry was labelled a choker and showed out when it mattered most. Siakam came out of nowhere. And Kawhi ... well he was playing on one leg at times. Pretty impressive to me.
The Raptors had a great Eastern run. But the finals were a wash. They play who's in front of them. But they shouldn't have gone to 6 against an injured Warrior's with no damn legs. Every chip has luck but this ring had all the stars align for this. Even after Klay went down the 2nd time they still only won by 1.
@@milkboy2228 i don't agree with what you're saying because even before the series knowing kd probably wasn't going to play. Vegas and basically everyone had the warriors winning. Remember they were undefeated (the rest of the houston series and portland) Toronto were still massive underdogs. The narrative changed when it was apparent that toronto was the better team without kd on the warriors then it was "the rign is meaningless because kd didn't play" and toronto was also dealing with injuries but no one talks about it (kawhi knee) (lowry couldn't feel his left thumb since the second round) (og anunoby missed the entire playoffs). Let's stop with the hypocrisy and give the the champs their due respect.
@@milkboy2228 and it really shouldn't have gone 6 it could've been a sweep or a gentleman sweepif you put everything in perspective it took an 18-0 run in game 2 for gsw to win by 3 and the raptors having their worst shooting night in the playoffs in game 5 for the warriors to win by 3. But no one talks about that
@@woomir3794 I remember vividly that Vegas had the Raptors winning without KD. The narratives were saying that they were wrong because the Warrior's were better and were coming off a sweep against the Blazers. We were still in the whole "they don't need KD" bs that UA-cam nephews ran with until the series started. And it wasn't just the perception going in the series itself was so much more. The injuries in the damn series were why it was so much worse than it already was. It Klay doesn't get hurt (the 2nd time ffs) they go to 7. That's ridiculous.
Dirk’s run in 2011 was the best for me. The Mavs destroyed all competition when no one expected them to, even beat Lebron’s superteam in MIA, no injuries no excuses, teams played
you mean when lebron threw him on the floor then stepped over yea no real man is gonna accept that that wasn't draymond fault all the techs up to that point well that's a different story plus the low blow vs stephen adams
G-O He was ejected because of the fouls he received. He threw his mouthpiece afterwards. Curry has never fouled out like that and suddenly in the finals game on the line you get ejected. I would’ve been mad too lol
Mavs won because LeBron wasn't mature yet. Spurs won because D Wade was out of his element and Bosch was simply not the same. Not taking any credit away from them, but you see, the Warriors were more talented than that Heat team, better coached and deeper than them. They were the best in Defense *and* offense. Curry and KD had matured, everyone was at their peak. That team was truly flawless. What people forget is that, that particular year, there was no selfish game in that team. KD didn't go iso and make everyone else cold. Draymond didn't make stupid mistakes again and again. That team played perfectly together. Even the so called 'lack of center' flaw was nullified because KD and Dray were beasts under the rim. Edit: 2017 Warriors.

BasketballAddict no, because the Mavericks hired the Monstars to make LeBron look like a bum and didn’t actually face any injuries
Nah they were doing good before Durants injury, it would have been close
@Jazzy Berry all the teams the 2015 warriors went up against were injured, while the only injured team the raptors went up against was the warriors, it’s the title teams not finals teams
Andrew Bynum was injuries that entire series he was apart of the reason our team up great SIZE n he gave us a twin tower dou with him and pau so don't come talkin bout perk getting injured
Maurice Burnett Exactly!
I completely forgot about that.
Exactly I love him so much until he brings up an excuse for the Celtics and yes perk was out but Bynum was a huge piece of us as well
Bynum playing thru injury in 2010 2008 he didn't even play so ...
Kobe's got a finger injury and his knee is banged up as well that championship run in 10
The thing about the Draymond suspension is that it is not an injury. It was completely within his control. LeBron drew the tech. Everyone knew Draymond would be suspended with one more tech or flagrant. Because of this it is not comparable to injuries in other series.
Also I'd have the cavs over lakers and mavs, but it's close .
Agreed. That’s his fault. He got suspended for his own actions. You can’t blame the Cavs for that shit. Come on!
How different would the Warriors be looked at if the 73 win team won it all, but they lost the other three finals?
That's a good question.
That 2016 ring will be forever remembered. The fact that they went 73-9 and got the ring is massive.
texasranger9 They would be the most underachieving team of all time, and that would probably result in bron becoming the goat with all those rings

All the games between 2016 Warriors and Cavs were blowouts except Game 7 though.
But it was still an amazing series
I think that's why he put them so low. The only game that was interesting (and the best game of the decade imo) was Game 7.
as a mavericks fan, being number 6 absouloutly amazing. all hail dirk

Ranking NBA Championship Teams from the 1990's:

The MAVS did not just come out of nowhere that year. They were a top team in the West in the early part of the season, until injuries hit them.
Plus, they also played the Heat in the Finals while missing Caron.
Its funny how the pacers always exceeds expectations but never enough to win lol

Kawhi blow a 22 point lead in regular season against them without KD. So i wouldnt take about regular season if i was you.
Well....Ur wrong

Great video Dom, love this series!
2010- Kobe Bryant’s most important championship, very competitive
2011- Number 1 for me, Dirk had to go through Kobe, and KD in the playoffs, and Lebron in the finals
2012- Lebron’s first ring, and had one of the greatest games ever in game 6 against boston in the playoffs
2013- Competitive, and came down to the last shot, but wouldnt rank too high
2014- Not that competitive, Wade and Bosh were washed, and the spurs beat miami in 5 games
2015- Cleveland was honestly the better team, cuz Golden State came out of nowhere, and were able to beat a 1 man team. If Kyrie and Kevin Love were healthy, Cavs wouldve won
2016- An entire storyline, and a legendary comeback by the cavaliers. However, if Draymond didnt get injured in game 5, he would’ve been the difference maker for the warriors and would’ve given them a chance
2017- KD’s first ring, and everyone knew the warriors would win, Cavs managed to win 1 game, but everyone knew it was over before game 5 even started.
Keep it up!

Haven't even started the video yet. It's 16-17 Warriors, then 13-14 Spurs, no brainer.
Yeah everyone hated the heat. But the nba was super interesting then. All of their runs they were never a foregone conclusion to make the finals
i feel like the west will be super compelling and competitive and east compared to its counterpart are much weaker
im loving your honesty bro

Tf no one praises the 2015 Warrior's they have the most criticized ring or the decade.

I remember vividly that Vegas had the Raptors winning without KD.

U can’t take away from the Cavs championship bc draymond was suspended bc it was his fault
you mean when lebron threw him on the floor then stepped over yea no real man is gonna accept that that wasn't draymond fault all the techs up to that point well that's a different story plus the low blow vs stephen adams
Tone Blaze it’s 100% his fault it’s not about being a man he knows if he does that he’s getting a tech and still did it
You forgot to count the absolutely ridiculous ejection on Curry
El Gordon Mexicano Bro threw his mouth piece in the crowd????? I agree that the foul was ridiculous but the ejection was justified
