missed reads could totally be Canada's fault, a few folks have come out to say that his plays have zero detail in them to allow a player to quickly digest what they may need to do in varying situations. So if canada was poor at teaching how to read his offense thats a him problem. PS i am not a kenny fan either way lol

As a Steeler fan, its nice to see a move happen. I’d like to think the Bill’s played a role in this. A team that actually scored points at any given moment firing their OC.
But, also as a Steeler fan, it is worrisome Tomlin didn’t pull the trigger. I’d like to think he played a role, but who knows.
Lastly, maybe most importantly,we gotta put the record aside and let Kenny do his thing. Lets try many new plays each week. Lets see what Kenny can do because we gotta figure it out and see if he *can* be the guy this season, not waiting and seeing what he can do for a full year next year.

Good God, Belichick hasn't won a playoff game in 5 seasons (and it may go longer than that) and he's the greatest coach of all time. There are only TWO more winning coaches in the NFL currently over Tomlin and that's Reid and Belichick. . . if you're talking post season, then there are currently only 4 coaches better than Tomlin and that's Belichick, Reid, McVay, and Carroll. The Steelers QB is in his second year. In order for him to begin to do those things on his own he needs to develop first. He can't develop if his coach doesn't give him the means to develop. Matt Canada's playbook was stale, predictable, and didn't play into his players strengths. The QB doesn't throw it to another guy because the plays are designed to only make one receiver really with throwing to. The opposing defense doesn't need to do much work to break down the offense, and because the QB is new he doesn't have that instinct or courage to pick a different play. Football is as much about strategy as it is who has the better players. And when your strategy is garbage, you don't have the opportunity to develop good players.

Also, coaching plays a big role in putting offense and players in a position to be effective and successful. I coach high school basketball(girls) and it’s my job to put my players in a position to be successful regardless of skill level. Canada is trash and so vanilla in his play calling. I’m not saying KP8 is playing well and it’s all coaching but it’s a combination of things. WRs don’t really get great separation. OLine is mediocre but can be better if blocking schemes improve. A move such as this by this team was made to show the players, the staff and owner are serious about wanting to fix things and have heard what the players have said.
Now its up to the players to deliver. Huge pressure on KP and the rest if the offense but maybe they will rally around this.
This also allows the STEELERS admn 7 games to assess whether or not they had both an OC and a QB problem or just an OC problem.
    Onto Cincinnati…

Kenny Pickett, you’re on thin ice. The scapegoat is gone.
